Poor customer service. Boo

Alright, lemme be straight with ya. I've had a Central Boiler for years, and when it's workin', it's a beast! Keeps my place warm, saves me money on heat... can't complain about the product itself. It's built tough and does what it's supposed to do.
BUT... and this is a BIG but... if you ever need customer service, good luck! I had an issue recently, and tryin' to get a hold of someone was a nightmare. Transferred all over the place, voicemails that never get returned... it was a joke!

25 years ago we moved to the country and decided to buy a wood boiler, we shopped around knowing it was going to be a big investment. We looked at several stoves, Central Boiler was the most expensive but looked like it was better quality for sure. We bought it, installed it ourselves, laid the underground pipe ourselves and it worked great for us for 10 years. Then we decided to move to a different location in the country. So we packed everything up INCLUDING OUR CENTRAL BOILER HAHAHAHA. We were not leaving our investment behind. We installed it at our new place, burned wood without issues for another 15 years. Last winter we had water issues with the stove. We had no choice, in the middle of winter in northern ontario -40 weather to try and maintain it as best we could until spring. Come spring we cleaned out the ashes and tested it for leaks and there was none to be found. The whole time the water problem was the pipes in the ground that collapsed. Again, our little investment to us now, because we definitely got our monies worth on that baby long time ago. Well she kept going strong. She kept us warm for 25 years and is keeping us warm this winter. We have no alternate heat, wood only and wouldn t have it any other way. I have watched a brother in law cheap out and buy the competition stove and no long heats with wood because they just leak water all the time. Central Boiler is definitely worth it s money for sure. Thanks Central Boiler for 25 years of heat.

Great furnace for the first 12 years until the door cracked. Still under warranty so I got a new door for "free". Shipping was $150 and the door was a new "improved" design. After the first 3 solenoids in the first month, I called the dealer and he said they recommend the spring connector and 1 amp slow blow fuse for $42. Nice to inform me of that only after I burn up 3 solenoids @ $28 each. I installed these items and burned 2 more solenoids. I began trying to speak with someone at central boiler after the second solenoid. After 5 calls (they always transfer me to a dead end voicemail) and no return calls as well as several emails, I was only able to communicate via email where the representative basically said it was my fault since I must be using the wrong fuse, not adjusting the connector right, feeding the furnace wrong (hardwood ONLY seasoned 2 years)! Did you hear that last one? I guess the first 12 years I was just getting lucky! Oh, and I used to help the first dealer install these and I'm very familiar with connections, settings, adjustments, etc.

So the issue is that the draft door runs cold (95-105 degrees on a hot furnace) and collects creosote and glues the draft door shut (they won't admit it's a design flaw). The dealer smashed my old cast iron door for warranty purposes, so I won't be getting that back. It has been 2 months, $196 in parts, temperatures in the negative to single digits, I can't count on my furnace to function while I'm at work, I have spare parts on hand for when I need them. AND Central Boiler doesn't care enough to return my calls. I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY based solely on their customer service. I have since solved the problem with my own addition (2 weeks, no sticking draft door) I can't post my addition, sorry, but they are welcome to send me a check for it.

Serial #GS-710234, nothing but problems from the very beginning. Wrote a letter to the CEO (who does this anymore?) who ignored me multiple times until my dealer finally made them call me back. Then they told me I don't know how to operate my stove.

Works wonderful and performed exactly as advertised. Very professional service and a company that backs up the sale with great service. They are passionate about their products and it shows in its quality and reliability. Load it twice a day and walk away. The online monitoring on the website is great and able to get warnings and data from the site and on my mobile devise.

Can not talk to anyone at this company. Their phone system is a endless loop of transferring, and no one answers, ever. I have a question about my boiler and can't get it answered. My advice, if your looking for a boiler buy one from a company that actually has a technical service assistance department.

Upgraded to a Classic Edge 550. Burns only about a third of the wood my Ridgewood did! Was a little apprehensive about buying a new stove since we just paid the old one off, but so far it s worth it. My Dad (who swore he d never go to an OWB from his indoor stove) was so impressed with the efficiency that he bought a CE 350 for his house, and said he wish he d done it a long time ago!

I have been using Central Boiler products for about 6 years. I upgraded to a 550HD this year. Man I am glad I did. The 550 HD is well worth the investment. I'm spending a lot less time on maintenance and enjoying the wireless monitoring of the unit from the matter where I'm at.

I've my 6048 for 14 year's.
I did have an issue with my door, and Central Boiler stood behind it, giving me a brand new door, No Charge.
I have changed a couple circulators, understandably.
I wished I had bought one sooner, hopefully it will last another 14 year's.
By then, I'll be too old to cut wood.

Happy owner of a 2010 E-Classic 2400. Keeps my house warm and domestic water hot even at -40 below temperatures. I've had no problems with this furnace and it's still running strong. As a former Classic owner prior to my E-Classic upgrade, I highly recommend Central Boiler products as they are both great units. Have saved thousands on my heating bills while keeping my family warm and comfortable.

Before i begin, feel free to visit central boilers facebook page but take the time to read there house rules, they reserve the right to remove any bad reviews on there page, keep that in mind,

One of the main reasons we purchased this boiler was for the free 25 YEAR WARRANTY!!! dont be fooled, the warranty covers NOTHING, in 5 years time we paid out of pocket for 5 or 6 air control solenoids , 3 blower motors, 8!!! door seals! thats just the start, at the end of its 5th heating season it developed a water leak, the boiler itself or the tank if you prefer was leaking, took us weeks to get an answer about what to do and they said well it could be up to 6 to 9 months to repair! UNACCEPTABLE! they then offered us the new model at a discounted price of almost $6,000 !! i just spent 12,000 on something they said would last 25 years and i only got 5 years, there customer service takes so long to get answers they got us stuck between a rock and a hard place, i broke down and got the new model WHAT A JOKE!!! total waste of money unit burns unreliably , inconstantly a pain to maintain, the outside light is worthless, but i had to do it because cold weather was coming and it was my only source of heat, i regret the day i started doing business with central boiler

Only had ours in use from March until May. In August had a pin hole leak in the heat exchanger coil. They say not warrantied because our water was bad or not properly set up. Hmm. Dealer installed and set up and no build up in coil. Still won't warranty this part. They apparently know they have a problem. We have tried no less than 6 times to call. Get put on hold for hours and when we leave message...never a return call. This is not a company I can recommend.

i have owned a couple of Central Boiler Outdoor Furnaces. After using my Ecl-3200 for about 8 heating seasons now, and burning about 40% less wood, and virtually no smoke, so happy!! I have the Firestar XP module on it too, and it is addicting, always looking at it to see the water temp and reaction chamber temperature from my phone or computer! Fun to watch the reaction chamber temperature climb 30 degrees at a time!! Tells me the last time the door has been opened, and sends me a text message too if the fire is out! So much technology, they continue to impress me!!

Hi I highly recommend Central Boiler I researched all of the boilers made back in 1998 and what found out back then was Central Boiler was the best by far.some of the others have augers to clean it and leaks air around it witch makes it burn more wood, some have tubes to clean and on and on I am so satisfied with my 6048 witch I purchased in 1999.and wouldn't trade it for a brand new Cadillac. Thank you Central Boiler for a great product.

This is my second central boiler purchase. I loved the financial savings using wood provided. My local dealer has been awesome but after years of use, the door developed a major crack. The local dealer stated that the doors have life-time guarantees but upon requesting a new door, was informed that my warranty papers had never been filed. Learn from me. fILE it yourself. The original installer had not filed the warranty and we are now left with a cracked door. The product was worth the purchase but the company will not honor a warranty unless you file it. Central boiler does have record of the purchase but only honors warranty if it is properly filed.

We moved to New Hampshire in 2000 and the wife said no wood stove in the new house. So I went in search of the best outdoor wood boiler. After much research I settled on the Central Boiler model 5036. Purchased in the fall of 2006 and it has been going strong ever since. I have had a few issue mainly self created. I have had to replace the chimney after 10 years of use. Mainly because I left the door open once. The dealer her in NH was very good about the service. I have replaced the door gasket a few times over the years and I just email him and he sends me the parts with a bill. Heck he even included a hat once.
Over the years we have save over 3000 dollars each year in propane not used. It allows the wife to keep the house at 70 degrees all winter long. Also no worries at how much hot water she uses in the shower.
Over all one of the best investments that we have made!

I ve had a Classic for 11 years now. I love it 100%. I work in a steel framed warehouse which is brutal in winter, as cold as -30* cold. I come home, crank the thermostat and it s just plain paradise. With out my Outdoor Furnace I couldn t afford sufficient heat, besides I have my own wood. People say out door furnaces EAT wood, this is very untrue. My classic uses less wood than the wood burning stove that was in the house and the whole house is an even temperature. No hot or cold rooms. There are 4 Central Boilers in my family . Thank you Central boiler.
