Wonderful experience! The Center has a wide variety of puppets and some hands-on displays that are fun for kids and adults alike.

The Jim Henson collection is quite impressive - you'll see fan favorites such as Big Bird, Kermit the frog, Miss Piggy, and Pigs in Space!!! I sincerely went there with the sole purpose of seeing the Dark Crystal collection (it was FANTASTIC) and was extremely surprised at how interesting the other collections from around the world were. I ended up spending just as much time if not more, perusing puppets of the past and learning about the different puppetry styles and techniques.

Highly recommended as there are multiple galleries (with different themes) and enough room to accommodate high traffic (which we didn't experience). Parking was a breeze which we didn't expect considering it is located in busy Atlanta.

They even offer a puppet making package which we assume would be excellent for any little ones you may be bringing. Things to consider: bring some extra money for the giftshop =)

Lots of hands on exhibits and cool history; great activities and workshops for the kids; plus an INCREDIBLE cast, crew, set makers and puppets make for a more entertaining visit than you'd ever imagine. We were blown away by how fun the show was!

I've now been twice, once in the older smaller building and now in the renovated building with the Jim Henson wing. The amount of displays and information is great, and it is all so fascinating. A great place to kill a couple hours by wandering through.

I remember going in field trips in elementary school to the Center. We took my 4&6yo kids for the first time last weekend and it was even better than I remembered! They enjoyed the museum, make your own puppet, and the show. I am thrilled we still have a place like this in Atlanta! Parking was so easy in their lot (no charge) compared to other places we visit in midtown. We will be back and hopefully getting a membership!

Was a member for several years. Attended most if not all of their shoes during those years. Very enriching for the children. And the puppet workshop is a delight for children and adults alike.

Great seating, one of the employees was trying to tell my child she couldn't touch the horse like I wasn't there and didn't even let me respond. My child was talkimg to me. Puppet show was kind of long. Not good for 2 and 3 year olds

Worth a very long drive. True artistry. Don't miss Frosty the Snowman. You'll feel like the movie is coming to life before your eyes. Seen many shows at the center and every one has been five stars.

It was an awesome place. They have interactive displays along with some historical information on puppetry. We loved the Stellaluna puppet show, it was fun for kids and adults. It was easy enough to get to with GPS and they also have a few benches and tables outside that made it great for a small picnic. All in all a fun and intriguing place to go

My kids LOVE the Muppets and were thrilled to see Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the gang. I enjoyed the Sesame Street characters. Wish they had more interactive activities for the kids, but they may not have because of Covid.

We went on a Tuesday afternoon and there weren't many other guests there. We practically had the place to ourselves! We did the Jim Henson tour and were the only ones in the tour group. The tour was only a few dollars more than the self-guided museum entry ticket, and I definitely recommend it. You learn a lot more about Henson's work with the guided tour, and our tour guide Megan was the best! All of the staff members that I interacted with were very friendly and knowledgeable. The museum is well curated and very interesting. The three other members of my party (who weren't Muppet fans) thoroughly enjoyed it! If you're a fan of Henson and his muppets, this a must-do while you're in Atlanta! I'll definitely visit again!

Nice little museum. Brings back memories of what you watched as a kid. Great exhibits to learn about early puppets to the newer technology used in today's puppets. Kids will enjoy going. Great learning experience.

If you are in Atlanta with children, then definitely go, but without children it was fun and interesting. In addition to the Muppet show, the museum has a collection of puppets from around the world

Fascinating exhibit-multiple puppets from various TV shows and movies throughout the years. Parking is a bit limited so try and arrive early in the day if attending a special exhibition. Probably not the best place to take very young children-but once they are pre-k and kindergarten age they should enjoy. The center also has a crafts room where (presumably) kids can put together their own puppets. Also a good networking place for others who share an interest in puppetry.

They move around exhibits often enough to warrant many visits. The Henson exhibit was really interesting. I also loved reading all of the little signs and watching the videos. I wish the gift shop sold more interesting types of puppets, but it is overall worth checking out.

Not terribly big place with so much to see. Gift shop products are reasonably priced.

I always enjoy coming here, but every now and then there is an employee with a snarky remark. The shows are already perfectly executed, and the people I've sent to workshops have always reported back good things about the instructors.

P.s. if you do a late night workshop, be vigilant. There is little crime at this location but there's quite bit in the surrounding area.

Smiling children. Great shows. This place is a pricey benefit to Atlanta. There are plenty of shows for children aged two to about 8 or ten, and adults do well to bring their families. We always come here with Oma (the German word for grandma)

This was my firts time at The Center For Puppetry Arts. And I had a great time there, from the beginning to the end. You will enjoy the whole tour, I will say if you are a kid or an adult, it doesn't matter because all the characters you will see there, you have grow up watching them on TV. Like Sesame Street, or The Night Before Christmas, The Dark Crystal and much more.
This museum is located in downtown, and its difficult to park there but, hey, the museum have free parking, them you put your mask get in, pay for the tickets and get ready for a puppet journey through time, you will see the beginning of Puppetry, how to make one, them you will walk to several exhibitions, the 50 years Muppets celebration and The Dark Crystal labyrinth were my favorites, don't miss this unique opportunity to watch this exhibition so close and enjoy the ride.

The Center for Puppetry Arts is an often overlooked cultural repository in midtown Atlanta. More than just a repository of cultural expressions from around the world, the center engages in regular performances. It's a joy to see exhibits such as the recent dark crystal display.

It s a so boring place. My two kids wanted to leave after the museum tour, but we waited for the show. The show was nice, other than that, nothing is interesting here. My two year old needed the ticket for the museum and the show too. Three of us $75. It s not worth it.

We so enjoyed the puppet show and building our own Rudolph shadow puppet. This is my 2nd trip, both school field trips. Just wish the lunch area was bigger for all the children that come from a lot of different schools. Still a great experience with my girls.
