Friendly staff.
If you are planning on using the pool make sure you get in early to get a lounger
Brilliant food in PAD restaurant
Well made drinks
Hotel was cold everywhere, pool, bar, restaurant and bedroom. Food was good.
Superb from the staff to the rooms and the food. Just a shame I don't play golf!
Fantastic place for Golf! Loved my short stay, great friendly staff!
Great resort. Although some of the pricing is a little over the top.
Very large, well appointed and great location for conferences
Great place, huge hotel, nice views, rooms nice although a little tired. Bar extortionate. Sports bar closed down too
Timetable for activities . Beautiful view from balcony. Well presented room . Huge size of whole hotel
Hot stone therapy at the Celtic Spa 16/10/20 wonderful treatment and the staff were brilliant.
A lovely treat in these difficult times.
5 stars for a 5 star resort. Although the manor wasn't as expected.
So this is a overdue review....We stayed here at the start of our honey moon in late 2014 and the food gave my husband food poisoning. For 48 hours he was poorly. We got a refund for his meal and was told it would be looked into and they would get back to us. Numerous times I tried to contact them and I was ignored each time. So I gave up, what was supposed to be a great start to our new life started with my husband being extremely sic. We couldn't enjoy our stay at all I would of expected the courtesy from a hotel like this and at those prices that they would of offered us stay for free again another time as our stay and start of honeymoon was ruined but they didn't even call back. Thanks Celtic manor.
A great place and would go back again. Just avoid The Rib restaurant as it's simply not up to par
Very nice place to stay food is amazing staff r great 5 star
Staff were great, rooms were great and the food was great.
Excellent quality equipment and highly professional staff
Very impressive hotel set in a great location with really nice grounds. Excellent staff.
Attended the Santa's grotto. Our three children loved the experience and they were amazing with our autistic son.
This was a very different experience from the last time went. Last time was great. I couldn't of asked for a better experience. This time however, was anothere story.
The mini hard wasn't empty. It had the previous guests dinner in there. We found hairs in the bed. There were stains on the complementary gowns. We had to pay full price for breakfast just so we could have it in our room even though breakfast was included. The breakfast was average and not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel.
On the plus side, customer service was good. Everyone was polite and the Christmas decorations were just right.
Will we go again? It's difficult. Based on this experience alone, it's an easy no. However, we have been before and it was a completely different experience so we haven't written it off yet. I want to see some major improvements before go again
Have been here many times including the original, the service is poor having to repeatedly ask for our orders.Food VERY expensive & our cousin who had travelled from surrey had very little choice in the vegetarian section having rang More
Lovely staff and service, food was nice and rooms were ok
Attended a wedding fayre, Was very well organised and had plenty of staff on hand to help with any queries, woukd certainly return again.
Very nice stay in the resort hotel itself for a work conference. Food was excellent. Facilities good, if a bit busy.
Excellent staff, excellent facilities, excellent service. 5* earned.
Staff were brilliant food was excellent will defo come back
Check in staff not very friendly, arrived at 11 and told we couldn't check in until 4pm.... yes we knew that but when we made reservation we were told we could still use facilities beforehand. Nice little mall of shops inside, to treat More
Never been before but all staff are very polite and helpful and would definitely stay there again
Had a fantastic stay .....the venue is fantastic ... 3 hotels in all .. parking .. great activities....staff helpfull and willing to please ...well worthba visit ....
Food was great and the facilities were brilliant. The room was spacious and the lighting was great. My only complaint was there were no signs so I got lost and was nearly late.
Service was impeccable recieved a free upgrade on a double room booking to a suite which was exceptional with panoramic views of Newport. Room was furnished to a extremely high standard bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was amazing with a choice of full cooked and continental with a good selection of beverages.
A bit disappointed for a five star hotel and as prestigious has the Celtic Manor no teaspoons in the room for making tea's and coffees not very well stocked? window was not closing properly reported it to the reception still not fixed throughout our stay no feedback?
Beautiful resort. Amenities there are outstanding and it is by far the best resort in Wales and maybe even the U.K.
Excellent location for very large parties. Our group consisting of over 400 attendies . Good food , great restaurants, however our final meal consisting of beef madalians was completely under cook. Would return due to the facilities available. Will avoid the beef.
I love the celtic manor but few thing niggling me I ask the waiter for hot chocolate at breakfast and I'm told a supplement charge my brother in law asks a different waitress no problem and no charge... Also not much choice of food for children other than pizza in the olive tree. Our room was not cleaned properly dirty under sofa bed hair band and crumbs.
Midweek evening meal at Cen Asian restaurant. Food and service was excellent.
Amazing staff, lovely location and great facilities.
A great resort. Super that the kids activities have been increased. Great break.
Fantastic meal for Christmas but decor felt dated and needs updating. Service was wonderful!
This review is based on experiences over an extended period, so some of the views may not reflect current offerings. We have stayed at the resort, in the Manor House part as my wife was born there that part used to be a nursing home. Room was nicely decorated, if a little tired, and had all amenities needed. More recently we have had afternoon tea, which is a really good offering my only criticism is the slightly small tea offering. Although not golfers we like a crazy golf course and the resort has two nine hole courses. One is a minature course of holes from famous courses the other is an adventure course for the price it is also good value for money.
Lovely coffee in a great setting, unfortunately unable to provide gluten free options with their lunch me u
Amazing place to stay with the lovely surroundings and a beautiful golf course. It's a treat to the eyes to just look around. I stayed with my colleagues for an annual event but can't wait to come back again for a personal vacation.
Nice place the bed was extremely comfortable. Staff are friendly and the breakfast was fantastic. The sausages were as if they were made in house. Really tasty and not the cheap ones you may get in other hotels. The restaurant staff came back to the table asking if everything is ok and if we wanted anything else which is great as l find in some places I've been to, that does get missed. One of my friends that was with me, his order must of ran out as it's a buffet, however the staff came to the table with his food, apologised for the delay and even asked if he wanted more or anything else. Great fine detail sevice.
Went for ice staking. Food nice. Time on ice good and it's indoor. Seating area.
What an absolutely amazing place. Friendly helpful staff amazing food and the room we had was really nice. Massive bed and really comfy
Absolutely dreadful, my friends & I sat in the bar area to have a drink before going up to the restaurant the waitress was clearing the table & I asked to order drinks she said I will be back in a minute, my other friend didn't hear her & More
Myself and my husband had the most amazing time at the manor house. We had dinner in the olive tree and breakfast too. All good was beautiful. The front desk staff went above and beyond to cater to my needs as a not visible disabled customer. Called a bus to come drive us round to the car park. I am very pleased to have spent my birthday here. Thank you
Amazing building. Massive, kept getting lost. Went as part of university applicate day. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Has a great history as well.
Very good experience with lovely and helpful staff members. They charge you more if you use room service though.
Celtic manor is one of the most impressive venues in the uk. It has everything you can imagine a hotel resort would have. Spa and massage service is really nice. The rooms are very impressive and spacious, service is very friendly and everything is well signed. The restaurants there are very impressive and nice. Buffet breakfast in the morning is nice a real treat. Golf course is impressive and very popular. Only thing that I found frustrated was the casino night where the roulette man was disgustingly rude but apart from that I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Hotel was breathtakingly beautiful. We had a room with a balcony which overlooked the golf course, we could also see the sea which was a nice touch. The room was really clean and tidy. My only complaint is that the TV was a tad bit old and that the hotel has removed some of the Internet functions of the TV so we couldn't go onto YouTube for example or connect our phones. It was also a shame the spa and other services were closed but we will be coming back post Covid.
Visited for afternoon tea which was booked. Told them at time of booking about my severe allergy to fish, and again when the waitress seated us. My 2 friends always insist on no fish on the table too, due to my allergy. The afternoon tea arrived, it looked delicious. We had eaten 2 sandwiches, when my friend spotted bits of salmon on the plate! We summoned the waitress who apologised, took plate away. No problem with her response. Why was there Salmon on the plate? All food stuffs are supposed to be prepared on separate chopping boards? So this means the sandwiches must be stored on same plates? Or are they recycled when left by other customers?
Upon leaving, I spoke the the employee who was taking our money, and explained about my severe allergy. Her only response was a 5% discount! I'm sorry but this is disgusting. Thank god I didn't eat any of the salmon accidentally, don't think the Celtic Manor would like an ambulance attending because I've gone into anaphalactic shock!
The venue has some great views of the surrounding area from the balconies and gardens within the grounds. The staff are all courteous, friendly and more than willing to help if anything is required. Overall a great experience.
Pretty sweet place, good food, good place, good life
Enjoy every visit to the Celtic Manor. Excellent venue
Lovely hotel. Great at Christmas. Lifts take ages though.
Very nice facilities. Great golf courses. Service in the hotel and restaurant can be a bit hit and miss.
Went for a 30th birthday just 3 weeks ago. Upon entering , the gentleman ask where we heading which i said the olive garden to which he asked for a second time which made me feel slighlty uncomfortable.looking at the buffet selection i was not impressed. Food kept changing to what was labelled and for 35 pound for an adult and 25 for child it really is overpriced and made to feel like a standard hot world buffet resturant . Wouldnt go back again .
Lovely afternoon at the Celtic Manor Olive tree restaurant. Very polite staff and very accommodating.
Bad disable access convension entrance when being dropped off
