Worked for the shambles of a company for almost 2 years with a tight knit group of about 5 other guys we where treated like garbage, given unachievable timescales to get work finished, forced to do unpaid overtime and work late with no thanks made to work under unsafe conditions and under higher ups who have no idea how to do there own trade let alone mine and the icing on the cake is being paid off mid week after being told weeks, days and hours before I was let go (due to lack of work aparantly) that my job was safe so in summery

They use cheap meterial

Pay there sub contractors to much and there actual work force way to little

Work to unachievable time scales

Lie to your face

Make you work in unsafe conditions

Burn you out and chuck you to the curb with a minutes notice

Avoid working for them or getting work done by them at all costs

AVOID! Do yourself a favour and run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. They don't return phone calls. They try and fob you off with patter instead of getting on with what they've been paid to do. They have had a major refit contract taken off them because they are so grossly incompetent. It would be sad were their actions not bordering on criminally dangerous. FYI guys - my kitchen floor is not your dustbin! It's not ok to not bother to carry out repairs for months on end. It's not ok to fob me off and try to pass the cost of repairs you have been paid for onto the manufacturer. It's not ok to leave me without water for 4 weeks! It's not ok to send contractors from 60 miles away who don't let me know they're coming and who refuse to come back because I dared not to be in. And it's not ok to fit my shower rail to the ceiling with a rawlplug so that when I try to take the dilapidated shower curtain that you fitted down the shower rail crashes off the ceiling.

Bunch of cowboys couldn't build a rabbit hutch call themselfs construction workers they probably can't even spell the word anyways they tore my kitchen apart which is completely square to put in a fitted kitchen left me and my family without running water and cooking facilities for the weekend Friday to Monday then took over a month to try and finish the job which should have took only 2 days to complete is what I was told then they had the cheek to tell me that the completely square kitchen that I have is causing a problem so I ended up telling the to get to f_-? out of my house only to finish the work myself even without the right tools I done a better job than their so called tradsmen

Terrible company to work for, they have brick layers running jobs trying to tell other tradesmen how to do their job, also the quality of workmanship was absolutely shocking. The health and safety board would have a field day on one of this mobs sites!

I don t usually make the habit of writing reviews but in this case thought it was appropriate.
I initially contracted ccg to replace the windows in my flat but after being really satisfied with the workmanship and efficiency of the workmen I contracted them to refurbish my bathroom and kitchen.
Yet again it was carried out professionally and to an excellent standard.
I would not hesitate to use ccg in the future.
Thank you ccg for a prompt and efficient service.

I recently bought a flat from CCG in The Schoolhouse in Niddrie and I found the experience extremely stress free. The staff were very helpful and the quality and standard of workmanship exceptional. This is a renovation project and I am delighted CCG decided to retain the original facade of the school instead of simply demolishing it as it brings character to the street and a visual link to the area s history.

CCG have been great from start to finish! Their sales staff couldn't be more than helpful, making sure everything was an easy process. The high quality of build and eye for sustainability, is the reason why we chose them!

Fraudulent sellers! I actually don't know where to start with this charade of a company!
Firstly I find it interesting that a 1 star score was held for this company for months before two 5* reviews suddenly appeared!
Anna, as a supposed 'neighbour' you do seem to be the only flat in the entire block of 18 at the Schoolhouse who haven't had a horrific experience with CCG (to the point that we all formed a committee and met with local councillors and bosses of CCG to discuss our concerns before legal action was taken). You claim CCG were responsible for keeping the victorian facade yet you clearly haven't done your basic homework! Keeping the facade was a condition of the tender the council put to various housing builders! You claim the work is exceptional - oh dear, you obviously haven't checked your internal windows -the external window sealant burst on the majority of properties (leading to substantial internal damage to several properties), this then lead to ALL external window sealants being replaced within a year of the build. Did you not SEE the cherry picker working on ALL the windows for over a week and wonder why?? Oh, and how's your boiler? Again, the majority of home owners in the building have had major issues with their boilers. How's the plumbing? joinery? electrics? I seriously can't believe 17 other flats in the building have had horrific issues and you've not?? Strange that we've all not heard of you either! Very happy to be proved wronged and to witness the one-and-only 5* flat in the building but I suspect a little rat!
OK, on to way more important details - so you go to see a property 'on spec' - "yet to be built" in layman terms. So, how do you make your decision on whether the property is suitable or not? Well, in my case (and others in the building), it was based on room dimensions based on architectural drawings. You get what you pay for? Wrong in CCG's case - their motto should be 'get what you're given'.
Throughout my 'buying' experience I reiterated several times over to both the selling agent and the 'head contractor' that I had very specific ceiling height requirements - I was reassured multiple times both via email and in person that CCG were meting 'national minimum height requirements' which gave me an additional 4cm clearance for my home recording studio (I'm a self-employed voice-over artist). Guess what? The ceiling was several cm's shorter than specified, which has ultimately meant that I've had to compromise the vocal booth to the point that I can't work when traffic builds up outside the flat. Unlucky for me the Schoolhouse lives on a major artillery road so I loose 4hrs of the working day due to vibrations of the traffic being picked up on the mic. This was something I went to great pains to avoid, yet I was fooled by the blatant lies CCG were prepared to make in order to garner a sale!
Sadly, I'm not alone in this - several other property owners were sold on x square footage only to discover on hand-over that the properties fell far short of the spec they were falsely sold.
I could actually write on and on and on about the debacle that is CCG but I fear its a waste of time and energy!

if only it was possible to leave zero stars.. this company is a disgrace to the building profession. i would be amazed if they actually employed any time served trades people. the quality of workmanship is shocking. but as it seems they only do work for local authorities/councils no-one cares about the standard of work being carried out. just another company lining its already deep pockets by low quality work and substandard materials.
