This restaurant was recommended to us and although the service was excellent I'm sure there are better value for money restaurants about that area

We arrived 6 people, for dinner without pre-order we were immediately given a table, prompt service and good attitude from the staff, all dishes arrived together. Excellent steak, good hamburger, extra chips and 2 corn roasts (each 4.5 extra), 1/3 of beer - total delicious meal and good atmosphere - price per couple including 65

Not what I expected. Service was great. Food just okay.

After stressful arrival first a stave indulged in the evening. To be more specific, the Lomito, with Blue Cheese hollandaise, Bernaise, Onion rings in tempura and last but not least fried mushrooms.
Everything was really great. The service too.
The CAU had discovered a few years ago during a visit to Amsterdam and at that time it was not so crowded. On my visit, on a Sunday evening, the background noise was quite powerful. It does not bother me but it should be mentioned.

Very good steaks. Well prepaired. Pricy, but worthwhile. Staff very professional, knowledgable and enabling. Dont miss the chunky cut fries- texture is puree like inside, all the while glass like crunchy outside.

The meat was delicious with everyone in the group and the service was very accommodating and friendly.
We will dine here again on our next visit to Amsterdam

What a piece of meat!!! I had the Lomito and it was so huge I thought there was no way to finish it, but I was wrong, it was so soft and juice that slowly it was gone from my plate.

Had their rib eye which was alright (edible) but definitely not good for the price. Service was impeccable. Sides (onion rings, slaw, fries) were mediocre or over dressed.

Decent selection of drinks but nothing to write home about. For the value, i wouldn't return.

Note that the bathrooms are in poor condition. They aren't frequently cleaned, have a distinct smell and had some sort of water leakage.

Very expensive but one of the best steaks i've ever eaten. Totally worth it.

Food was good But when you say " I want to choose something fast from the menu", and the waitress say "we are not a Macdonald" in a bad way, sorry but for me this is bad service.

The homemade burgers are very tasty. The side dishes are a bit on the small side, but very tasty.

The service can be a little slow sometimes. But the burger was fine to taste.

Very nice place, best service I got I'm Amsterdam. We had the steak sandwich and it was very very good. Much better than anticipated.

The chips were lukewarm, the bread was baked and the plates were not decorated.

Had a great dinner on the 2nd floor with a spectacular view. We ordered the spicy steak empanadas to start which were delicious but a little small for the $. Then ordered a steak sandwich which had steak done 3 different ways. Wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich as well. Great quality restaurant just off Dam Square!

Lovely grill menu with a stunning atmosphere and aethetics. Would recomend to anyone who fancies a nice meal on their last night in the Dam.

Year 2010. Outside the store there was a light, steak with potatoes and if I remember correctly 19 euro. In the account had separate potato and sauce steak.With 5 beers the account went to 250 euro.We were 5 people. yours.

One of the best tenderloin steaks I have ever had!! And hands down, THE BEST, steak sandwich!

We ordered one steak, a burger, sour cabbages and fries....We had stomach cramps afterwards.... the staff were terrible when we complained about it..... really really disappointed!!

The best one is service whiteness ~ I recommend the lip, sweet potato, cowl slo, hamburger !!! Wing was also delicious !!! Like the club, the music was a little loud, but I am very satisfied with the food !!

Very good food. Excellent service from our waitress. The place does not look cosy, but the ambiance is quite nice. Altough in a tourist hotspot the food was much better th aan expected. There are three floors. Prices are ok compared to what they serve. Would definitely come back here.

We were in Amsterdam for 2 days, and we came here twice, the food was that good. Their slaw is amazing, so make sure you get one. It goes great with the fries.

Excellent cuisine for both meat and fish, good value for money and excellent service. A special mention for the Italian waitress who pampered us during our stay.

Excellent food and service.. If you like meat and especially steak Cau is the place to be in Amsterdam. The quality of the food is high and also the drinks are good. Beside steak it is also possible to get a salade, salmon or burger for the ones who do not love a good steak. If you like to have a good meals in a nice atmosphere Cau is the place to be
