Just give them a call. They care and they will help. I hesitated because I'm not religious and was wary of the "Catholic" part, but there was no religious component whatsoever. You don't have to be Catholic and neither do the counsellors.

I'm forever grateful to everyone at CC for the support they've given me. Soad Abdi, my counsellor, is a kind, intelligent, fiercely supportive advocate. In addition to her insightful and non-judgemental one-on-one sessions, she helped me get access to food resources, a trauma specialist, and a social worker. When we discovered my diagnosis is most effectively treated with DBT, she fought to get me into an intensive specialized program.

Catholic Charities accepts OHP; my sessions, medications, everything was 100% covered. My life is immeasurably improved because I called this organization. I hope anyone who's even thinking about it will give them a chance.

I just picked up my once in a lifetime checks for my deposit & 1st mo rent! Thanks to Catholic Charities I'm in my very own transitional apartment after leaving my ex abuser & being on the streets of Portland nearly 2 yrs. 2020 sucked SO bad in SO many ways. 2021 already has way more positivity, hope & success. Thank you from my whole heart & soul for helping me to help myself! Truly AMAZING organization & the awesome volunteers that make it happen are gems Lord, thank YOU for keeping my faith STRONG. Im forever grateful for our God! Hallelujah

I have a 15 year old who has been in desperate need of counseling for 18 months. I couldn t find anyone to work with teens when someone finally recommended Catholic Charities. When I told them the situation my daughter is in they told me they placed her on the waitlist but they will get her in. I was THRILLED and so was my daughter. We were feeling hopeless up until than. We waited two months but got an appointment for tomorrow (Thursday 7th). I turned in all of the appropriate paperwork. On Monday I emailed to confirm. Profusely thanked them again for getting us in. I took off of work to make the time work. I emailed several times to confirm. 5:30 night before I was given an email to say they don t take her insurance and they canceled her appointment. No phone call. No courtesy of a heads up. Just an email to say sorry we NOW can t help you and we would be placed on waitlist again until they take my insurance. No one asked me if I wanted to pay for it. I didn t even count on insurance. I am so desperate for care and they failed us. Night before no less. They had my insurance for weeks. My daughter feels so let down. Let down by her father who hasn t had her to his home in over 18 months now. Let down by catholic charities who opened a spot to get her help than rudely bailed on a high risk teenager. GREAT JOB catholic charities. Just hope it won t be another 18 months for me to find someone to help us!
