Such a beautiful, breath-taking Cathedral!!! Love the fact that it's always open to the public! A must see in Savanah!
Absolutely beautiful and serine place. The architecture and design was amazing as is the interior. So much history here and is a true work of art. Probably my favorite part of my Savannah visit
Thank you for welcoming us inside this beautiful sacred space. Stained glass, barrel vaulted ceilings, a gorgeous mosaic font. I donated for some postcards. Visit the cathedral while you re in Savannah!
A very old Monsignor gave a beautiful, short mass. It's always a blessing to receive the Eucharist I. Such an amazing Cathedral
Most beautiful and breathtaking church I have ever been in. We were there at the right time and got to hear about a ten-minute background history about the church! If you visit Savannah Georgia and only do one thing, make it the Cathedral of St.. John the Baptist. You will not be disappointed!!
Absolutely gorgeous cathedral, inside and out. The mass was exceptional as well.
Good Holy place do you really need any more to say?
Typical Catholic cathedral, but it had a nice Southern feel to it, definitely worth the gander especially if you are into 19th century architecture. It's presence in the town of Savannah is also looming but not imposing, as a sort of watchful eye of the townspeople.
Beautiful place! This was my 2nd time coming here this year. However the host and security guard this time were just a bit rude to my husband. The guy that was here before that told us the history on the building was not here this time, nor was the helpful book for tourist to gain information from. Just be prepared to look up most information your self if he is not present.
Gorgeous cathedral, a must see when visiting Savannah.
This is such an incredibly beautiful cathedral. If you're looking for a place of beauty and peace, you'll need to include this treasure on your trip to Savannah.
The Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist is a stunningly beautiful place located in the heart of downtown Savannah's historical district. The cathedral is open for touring during the daytime when services are not otherwise in session. The hand-painted artwork and Gothic architectural features are simply breathtaking.
Awe inspiring. I always stop by when I'm in Savannah. They also have the mass in Latin, I believe.
Stunning church! The organ is amazing, they were practicing for a wedding when we slipped through on a tour, so we were treated to the organ and oddly enough, a bagpiper?
So beautiful and peaceful glad we came across it on our midway stop heading to blowing Rock NC
Catholic and very European-style church with very beautiful art. Fantastic manger scene opens on Gaudete Sunday with concert after the evening mass.
Savannah is a great town.
The most beautiful place I've ever been. It is a must see. Be ready when you walk in.
Gorgeous. Well worth visiting. No restrooms available
Beautiful architecture and stained glass, but closed early be sure to get there by 3pm to have quality time here.
Wow! Impressive architecture inside of the building. They ask for a 3 dollar donation and it is worth more. The church is functioning church, so keep in mind certain times may not be appropriate to visit.
Attended a wedding here. World class beauty and attention to detail. Felt bad that all the tourists were kept out during the rehearsal and ceremony. Great sermon and awesome organ/organist/singer and music selection. No pestering is for money at any time either.
Highly recommend.
Very nice expensive looking church, not sure if God wants so much money spent on these fancy things when so many go without. Just saying.
It s absolutely beautiful and an example of genuine Catholic architecture
Beautiful Cathedral in Savannah. A must see if you are touring the area. It reminds me of the churches you would find in Europe. Gorgeous stained glass artwork all along the sides of the building.
Amazingly beautiful cathedral. Walked by it while on a ghost tour. This was actually one of the more impressive things we saw on the tour and it wasn't even really part of it.
Beautiful and wonderful experience. Reminds me of Charleston.
Absolutely awe inspiring. The outside is stunning and the inside is memorizing. There are no words grand enough to describe this church. If you have the chance... do more than just look outside. Set foot inside. You won't regret it.
Beautiful church and the choir was amazing. Everyone was welcoming and the priest gave a great homily. I wish I lived in Savannah so this could be my home parish.
Simply beautiful architecture on the outside and the inside. Really breathtaking.
This place is absolutely beautiful. I took so many different types of shots , throughout our time in Savannah. It is also interesting to read about the history too.
Check website for events and mass schedule before visiting.
It was like being back in Europe. Reminded me of some cathedrals in Italy especially (Il Duomo in Amalfi comes to mind)
Gorgeous cathedral decorated for the Christmas holidays.
Very nice and well received, like the very original parishioners Cathedral
Beautiful Place inside, very peaceful and the service was really nice
A magnificent cathedral I had ever seen. A must see
I will not post pictures because you must see it in person, breathe taking!!
The outside is an amazingly impressive structure. The inside is beautiful. If you're wanting to visit an extraordinary cathedral then definitely visit.
The mass I attended was for the gold and silver anniversary celebration. It was very crowded which made me proud that there were a lot of longtime couples. I loved the cathedral, but i was sitting near the back on the center right side and had a hard time hearing the service. They have a sound system, but it wasn't useful for where I was sitting. I could hear, but couldn't make out most of the words, I think it might be too many reflections of sound made everything distorted. The choir was also distorted, musically it was beautiful, but it wasn't much different than hearing music through a wall.
Definitely visit for the architecture, but if you're going for the service, don't sit near the back.
I loved this church when I have been visiting.
Staff is very friendly and answer a lot of questions.
The Mass was very emotional.
Stunning architecture inside and out. It's free and reccomend for everyone tourist or local.
Beautiful place . but does a house of God need to be such a luxurious place . ???
