Thank you for welcoming us inside this beautiful sacred space. Stained glass, barrel vaulted ceilings, a gorgeous mosaic font. I donated for some postcards. Visit the cathedral while you re in Savannah!

Most beautiful and breathtaking church I have ever been in. We were there at the right time and got to hear about a ten-minute background history about the church! If you visit Savannah Georgia and only do one thing, make it the Cathedral of St.. John the Baptist. You will not be disappointed!!

Typical Catholic cathedral, but it had a nice Southern feel to it, definitely worth the gander especially if you are into 19th century architecture. It's presence in the town of Savannah is also looming but not imposing, as a sort of watchful eye of the townspeople.

Beautiful place! This was my 2nd time coming here this year. However the host and security guard this time were just a bit rude to my husband. The guy that was here before that told us the history on the building was not here this time, nor was the helpful book for tourist to gain information from. Just be prepared to look up most information your self if he is not present.

The Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist is a stunningly beautiful place located in the heart of downtown Savannah's historical district. The cathedral is open for touring during the daytime when services are not otherwise in session. The hand-painted artwork and Gothic architectural features are simply breathtaking.

Wow! Impressive architecture inside of the building. They ask for a 3 dollar donation and it is worth more. The church is functioning church, so keep in mind certain times may not be appropriate to visit.

Attended a wedding here. World class beauty and attention to detail. Felt bad that all the tourists were kept out during the rehearsal and ceremony. Great sermon and awesome organ/organist/singer and music selection. No pestering is for money at any time either.
Highly recommend.

Beautiful Cathedral in Savannah. A must see if you are touring the area. It reminds me of the churches you would find in Europe. Gorgeous stained glass artwork all along the sides of the building.

Absolutely awe inspiring. The outside is stunning and the inside is memorizing. There are no words grand enough to describe this church. If you have the chance... do more than just look outside. Set foot inside. You won't regret it.

The outside is an amazingly impressive structure. The inside is beautiful. If you're wanting to visit an extraordinary cathedral then definitely visit.
The mass I attended was for the gold and silver anniversary celebration. It was very crowded which made me proud that there were a lot of longtime couples. I loved the cathedral, but i was sitting near the back on the center right side and had a hard time hearing the service. They have a sound system, but it wasn't useful for where I was sitting. I could hear, but couldn't make out most of the words, I think it might be too many reflections of sound made everything distorted. The choir was also distorted, musically it was beautiful, but it wasn't much different than hearing music through a wall.
Definitely visit for the architecture, but if you're going for the service, don't sit near the back.
