The Ambulance service was good, they came quickly and did send my son to hospital very timely as well, and thankfully, everything is okay. I really appreciate them for that. My driver was polite and nice to us too. However, I just cannot give 5 stars as I agree with a lot of people, the service is very expensive, $2500 for a 3-mile (round up to 4 miles) is expensive and lot of times we just have no choice during an emergency. We called 911 and they show up at my house. This is the first time I ever used an ambulance service and I have no idea how much it should cost. My insurance covered a portion of the cost and I end up paying over $1700 out of pocket. I do not think this ambulance company is evil and charge people a lot just because they can, the have multiple locations in Boston Metro and if they always have higher prices than competition, they might price themselves out of the market.

Overall, I thank them for their service, and helped my son to get to the ER timely.

Ignorant morons...Don't seem to understand that people under 50 sometimes actually get ill and not everyone with a physical ailment is a heroin addict. And if I was a heroin addict and I was passed out with a needle in my arm, it's still your job to help me, not drown me in a wave of condescension. Your not doctors or detectives, and if that's asking too much then go bag groceries you scum.

Rude and overpriced. They charged us $2500 for a 15 minute ride. That is absolutely ridiculous considering I wasn t in need of any care and only thing they did was drive a few miles down the road. In the condition I was in I could have walked farther. If I could rate this zero stars I definitely would.

As a healthcare professional, I would avoid using Cataldo after what I witnessed today. I have witnessed many things in healthcare and understand that patients can sometimes be frustrating, but they rely on us to take their fears away - their frustrations are not personal. They re just afraid, they don t know the system like we do, they re in pain, they re sick, and they feel vulnerable.

I first realized how inpatient the driver was when I witnessed the her park the ambulance diagonally, where no traffic could pass at 4:43 on a Thursday afternoon. She had plenty of room to parallel park, and when other drivers suggested pulling over so that traffic could get by, she shoo-ed them away.

Everyone in traffic then watched as she assisted a very elderly and frail male from his home. She rushed him down the stairs to where he almost fell forward not once but THREE TIMES. He tried to grab the railing multiple times, I assume because he didn t feel safe with her leading him down the stairs, and she grabbed his hand away from the railing (as if saying I don t have time for this ).

She then placed him in the wheelchair, DID NOT secure him in, and she rushed him in the wheelchair over bumps and holes in the sidewalk and over sidewalk ledges to where the elderly male nearly fell forward out of the wheelchair. She pushed and shoved him into the ambulance in a rush.

It hurt my heart to see this happen, and it s unfortunate that we have people like this working in healthcare. There s no way that man felt safe in any way. Your patients need your patience - just keep that in mind.

I woke up around 3am unable to move neck down. I was in excruciating pain and it's the first time in nearly 30 years I have ever ASKED someone to call 911 and an ambulance.. being my 81yr grandmother because I was at her house that night. The two guys had to pick me up (I'm not huge, besides the point tho) and the driver who had my nana up front told her I was basically being dramatic, it's just a sinus infection. Well that sinus infection was endocarditis, a heart infection that had pieces of infection break off to my lungs, creating the inability to breathe well and move.. had I gone a few more hours the Drs said it wouldve been a whole different situation. I am also a 100% disabled marine corps veteran. Cataldo won't work with me on the ambulance bill that is 9 months old.. sent it to collections.. now its going my credit report because of something out of my control eith the VA despite the VA submitting the bill for payment approval in front of me! So cataldo wont pull the bill out of collections while the VA is actively working on fixing it & they wont contact the VA themselves either! This is how Cataldo treats disabled veterans and wont work with them!!

Very rude staff with billing. They have no problem lying to get you into the ambulance when you try and decline service. Then you will find out later that you arent covered and they want 2000 for 5 minute ride up the street.

Elaine answers the phone and wont let you say a sentence without talking over you in a condescending tone.
