Horrible adoption experience. After putting a great deal of effort into the process, my application was dropped immediately because I requested a later pick up date so I could be home with the kitten. Rude staff. More concerned about $ than working with families to make a beneficial transfer for the cat. Will never reccommend or support.

"I DON'T CARE" Regarding the possibility they may be adopting out lost cats folk are looking for. I've never written a bad review before. THIS PLACE IS THAT BAD. LIED TWICE in our phone conversation; once about the cat's appearance, the other about the law regarding the amount of time regarding right of ownership. Has made every effort to make it impossible for lost-cat owners to SEE if one for sale might be theirs; and after several interactions, now, having given far too much benefit-of-the-doubt each time, after this last interaction I wouldn't put it past them to lie about something so seemingly crystal-clear as whether the cat wasn't neutered when it came in, just to keep people from seeing if it's theirs.
I told him what he was doing was wrong. He didn't care. I told him it was unlawful, he told me to call the cops. This guy has shown himself to have no qualms, no ethics. Does only the bare minimum, knowing if he keeps us out then he can keep his precious plausible deniability, and shirk his lawful responsibility. The only explanation for the level of walling they put up. Otherwise it'd've been as simple as a five minute visit to see the cat wasn't mine. Says he wants to help, then in the same breath says he doesn't care. Read the other bad reviews; EVERY ONE I've read so far basically say the same thing: "Makes you wonder how much they really care about cats' finding good homes."

----update 4/15/21: see the screenshot of their response. It doesn't seem to be appearing, here's the copy/paste highlights:
"I think you may be confusing us with another rescue organization."
"CAT rarely receives lost or stray animals--most cats come to us from other shelters and rescue organizations. "

First trying to claim this was my mistake. No, I've tried MANY Times to see TWO cats at your building. Every time some excuse to keep me from even looking, even entering the building! Then trying to claim they don't have many strays, yet in the same sentence claiming theirs come from "other shelters." And where do shelters get theirs? STRAYS. This is the EXACT "plausible deniability" they hold so dear to. They wouldn't let me see the first, claiming "It couldn't be yours, this one came from Texas." It had come from "Best Friends" in TX, but upon calling Best Friends, it turns out they get theirs from shelters All Over The Country, Including OR. This is a racket, they can ship cats from shelters here, to Texas, then even ship them back here, so they can shirk their legal obligation to allow owners to reclaim their lost pets. If a *person* finds a stray, they're legally required to make it possible for the owner to find/claim for 30-90 days (depending on the county). If a shelter takes in a stray, they can put it up for adoption after 3-5 days. They're SUPPOSED to allow the remaining days for the owner to find/reclaim it, even if it was adopted. The adopter is SUPPOSED to be informed of their responsibility. But, because they ship them out of state, they know the owner Won't find it. Then they ship them somewhere else, or even back, to an adoption agency who can quite literally say "we don't/seldom take in strays" and "this cat came from Texas!" And flat-out *refuse* to even let the potential owner in to even look at the cat. This wasn't just one staff member, Numerous. One even said "if we let /everyone/ in who's looking for their lost cat..." Oh yeah? WHAT would happen? WORST CASE: Someone might see a cat that resembles theirs and get tunnelvision and adopt the wrong one? Paying your adoption fee in gratitude for your taking care of it. Maybe eventually realize it was a mistake and /maybe/ bring it back for a return? Heaven forbid you make a sale based on a mistake. So instead you let NONE in, let no one see whether a cat you've acquired is theirs? This is your business. You can't just shirk those responsibilities because one or two people ask for your time without paying for it. It is unethical.

These folks are absolutely brilliant. They really care about the cats in their care. We adopted a cat from them and they helped us through the process and even after the adoption! Continue the good work!

This is a great place to adopt a rescue cat and they have adapted very well to Covid restrictions. We were very pleased with the process involved with getting to know our cat virtually prior to adoption, and the process was both thorough and easy.

I had a great experience adopting my cat from here. The team was very polite, knowledgeable, and communicative throughout the whole process. I really appreciate how they want adopters to be educated on the needs of their new companions, and even offer assistance post-adoption. Misty was especially helpful and kind. My new cat is so sweet and so happy adopting him has been the highlight of my year!

My wife, kids, and I have always been total animal lovers. And we have had many different types throughout the years.

My wife has always had a special affection for cats and so along with our dogs we have always had several cats at any given time.

Through chatting with friends my wife heard about the Cat Adoption Team on SW Galbreath Drive and then the opportunity arose so she began volunteering there.

What an amazing organization and facility!
Everyone is so caring and truly gives their time, treasure, and talent from their hearts.

If you are looking for that special little friend to adopt and share your life with, then CAT is the place to begin.

We recently adopted a female kitten from CAT, and they were wonderful throughout the whole process. This is my second time adopting through them, and they work with each adopter to ensure that it is a good fit along with providing lifetime support through an assigned support individual, a small bag of dry food, a disposable carrier with cozy blankets inside, a certificate for a free vet exam, all cats are spayed/neutered, and contactless pickup during these Covid times. They also supported me with tips to find my current cat who was lost (and now found!) at the time after accidentally slipping outside. Highly recommend!

Great place to get a kitty... Or two! We have adopted two now and they have been the perfect additions to our family. My friend adopted three.. The store is great because 100% of the money goes to support the shelter and care for the cats. The staff have always been super nice and helpful. We have never had to wait long to view a cat we were interested in and the addition process is quick and simple.
