Great camp site. Stunning views. Clean facilities. However only thing that let down our trip way the attitude of receptionist. After being told in advance we would be arriving by our friends already on site. The lady that greeted us was so put out. She was annoyed the earlier shift staff had not put a note in the diary. But instead of holding up some sort of customer service facade. She took it out on us. Made a simple two man (mid week) tent booking over complicated. Over all would return to the area. Though not sure about this campsite.

Lovely site. Stayed in a static caravan here for 1 week. The van was immaculate and well presented. Tucked out of the way with spectacular views oaf Derwent Water, Skiddaw and other surrounding mountains, yet still close enough to walk to Keswick.

I have seen some amazing wildlife here too. The photo of the red squirrel was as taken on my phone through the window of the static.

All of the sites facilities that we used were clean and well looked after. The onsite shop was well stocked with all of the usual things that you forget and was also reasonably priced.

I have stayed at this site twice now which I think says enough really.

This is one of my favourite campsites. The facilities are amazing and always clean, it is a fantastic location close to Keswick town and all the staff are unbelievably helpful and friendly. Looking forward to taking our tent as soon as the site re opens.

This is an excellent campsite. The people are friendly in contrast to the chap who runs the castle rig farm campsite just next door. If you are trying to decide which to book there is just no comparison - Castle Rigg Hall has pitches which are flat and generously sized - Castle Rigg farm's are sloping and cramped - the hall has excellent views the farm doesn't - the facilities in the hall site are warm clean and of a good standard - the ones in the farm are not as good. We really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend Castle Rigg Hall to anyone

Beautiful place, very clean and looked after. Loved the fact that there was gentleman helping to park caravan.
I would love to come bk but not after the issue that we had by phone before our arrival.
I phoned one week before our booking and said that friend who is coming with me suffer from Irritating Bowel Symptoms (IBS) and could they locate us closer to toilets. I said that she can bring her paper work from hospital to prove it. The lady on the phone said that its impossible and they cant do nothing for us and maybe my friend SHOULD NOT TRAVEL! I found it very rude to say something like that and really unprofessional. I understand if i phoned day before or ask for it on our arrival but i phoned week before. People who are ill also wish to enjoy their lives, and sometimes little help makes their lives much easier. Try to be more kind, it will pay off.

Had an amazing stay here! It's the nicest campsite I've been to. Very reasonably priced given the quality of facilities e.g. An amazing shower block that is heated and with showers you don't have to pay extra for. The staff were really friendly lovely and it's all very well looked after. Only tiny thing I'd do differently is not camp so near the shower block- the lights are really bright and on all night! So go down the hill if you do camp. Rally recommend it.

We'd run out of camping gas and after a quick Google search, we found they sold what we needed. Well stocked and laid out shop. Decent price. Didn't use the campsite, but looked ok for a large site, for different units.

Very clean well laid out site. Has a lovely shop and said a wide range of goods at reasonable prices. The views are amazing and there are good places to walk. Large recreation area for children and most people adhere to keeping noise down in evening. If the sky is clear you may find yourself jumping out of your bed between 11pm and 00.3am as the air force flies over the site so low that when woken from a deep sleep you'd think a plane was about to crash!!....personally once we knew what it was we were quite excited about them. The staff were helpful and always out and about the site to answer any questions. The toilet block is very clean and warm.

We had a fantastic holiday in September the staff are very helpful and friendly , the static caravan we stayed in was very homely as we took dogs it had everything you need a lot of thought went in to it s decor, the shop on site was also very well stocked and we had a lovely view over lake derwent . Would definitely visit again . Mr and Mrs Wetton .

Very good site, ice been going there for years, however used a camping pod (no. 1) this week and it smelled like a public toilet....
This one experience would not pout me off going back though. Great facilities.

We are just home from our second camping trip at Castlerigg Hall and we can't wait to go back next year for our third. My husband, 7 year old daughter and I had an absolutely fantastic time. The facilities are super clean and the recreational field was fantastic for our ball games (dogs were not allowed on this part of the site). The staff were friendly and helpful if you needed anything. I really liked that tents were not encouraged to squash together (5 meters apart) which gave you a nice sense of privacy.
Many thanks to all at Castlerigg Hall, your hard work and dedication to the site really makes this place the beautiful gem that it is. We would recommend it to anyone. See you again next year.

Stayed here for a week. A truly lovely site in a wonderful setting, as you would expect in the Lake District. The actual caravan we stayed in was clearly new and well maintained, making the stay far more enjoyable. The on site amenities seemed fine, although we did only use the shop. The location is excellent for visiting Keswick, a short walk away. I would definitely return.

Great site with beautiful views of Derwent Water. Friendly and professional welcome on our arrival. Good sized pitch for our motorhome- gravelled and separated from our neighbour by a small hedge. We were next door to the toilet block which didn't bother us- it was very convenient! Toilet block was really clean and warm. Good sized shower cubicles with bench area to put clothes and hooks. Possible to walk down to Keswick but it is a longer walk than the website states due to a bridge being damaged on a more direct route. Lady in the shop was helpful and we bought a few bits from there. Had takeaway pizzas from the on site restaurant which were really good. Our dog was welcome in the shop and restaurant. A great site in a beautiful location!

Lovely hire van/holiday home.Clean.well furnished and equipped you just need your own Towels and Tea towels and you are ready. Only draw back is that there is no food on site but cooking in the van is no problem.Views are great and snow was bonus for us.!
Shop on site has lots to offer so you will not starve !Keswick is a really good walk away downhill all the way but if you walk that's good but a taxi back is a must. All uphill.

Check-in was chaotic, one non-mobile card machine while 3 people checking in. Dogs running around the check-in area (belonging to staff) and a puppy tied to a chair that it just dragged about the place. The facilities were decent if needing More

great place but pricing structure seems all wrong for tents and will drive them away, cheaper for 2 people to come with a motor home or tourer than a tent and they get electric hook up and private parking for themselves, 10 weekends for More
