Been to Castello several times, it was logical to become Wine Club members.
The place is pictureque, one needs to just take the time to look around and enjoy the many views and surprises.
This is before you even taste the wines. Everyone has their preference of wine. You will find yours here.
It can get crowded as it is a popular place. Come early and try their tours and wine tasting, make reservations for these. It is well worth it, especially when you have Guests visiting.

It's a freakin castle.

It's a freakin castle.
Ultimately it was waaaaay too crowded and from our conversation with the guy serving our wine during the tasting that was a pretty light day. It certainly wasn't relaxing due to the hustle and bustle of so many people crammed into the place but there was no way I was going to pass up the chance to experience a castle like that. If I can find a way to go there without a crowd (maybe a weekday?) then I am sure the experience would be much better. It's a beautiful place and I got some fantastic photos.

I would not recommend visiting here if you are going for the wine experience. The grounds are very pretty with some amazing architecture but that s where the enjoyment ends. Seems way too commercialized and the owner didn t put nearly enough focus on the service and staff as he did the construction. Our tasting experience was terrible. The person in charge of our tasting was very strange, rushed everything and the reds he was pouring were warm. He acted like he was doing us a big favor by giving us 10 cent pieces of melted chocolate.

If you been to Italy and experienced the architecture there is no reason to go here.

Ask for Jamie to guide you through the castle. He is fun and informative, very knowledgeable about castle and wines. If you are visiting from outside the US you might not understand his humor, but he tries his best to accommodate all nationalities and ethnicities. The castle views are spectacular. Warm regards, Brenda and Daral

Staff is rude, the winery is over crowded, and they will charge you $30 a head to enter the castle per person, even if only 1 person is tasting. Don t waste your time with this overpriced and overrated tourist trap, and go to a different winery that offers quality and good customer service

We were a group of 4 and we made a reservation for a tour around the castle, including wine tasting at the end. We had very high expectations before visiting, given all the positive comments and our friends' recommendations. The experience turned out to be OK, but not *that* impressive.

First of all, the castle is actually a modern construction in the 2000s, although it looks old. Those who like "real" history may be disappointed. As one who lived in Europe for 5 years, I didn't find it particularly exciting.

The tour was well organized and in general very informative. I'd love it more if the guide could spend more time on the basics of wines and wine tasting, instead of boasting about why their wines are worth buying.

Lastly, the tasting session was a bit rushed. We couldn't hear the guide clearly as there were a bit too many visitors and the guide could barely handle everyone. I could have learned much more about these wines if the guide could spare more attention to us.

Overall I think it's a OK place to visit, especially for those who haven't been to Europe very often. Otherwise, it may be a better idea to skip the tour and just do wine tasting.

Beautiful castle and great wine selections! Suitable parking and our wine tour was great. Family friendly. The best time to go is during mid-to-late summer as the weather is nice and prices around are good for food/airbnbs.

The place is beautiful and they have pretty quick service. We were a party of 6 and they found a place for us after about 15 minutes. The service was very nice and gave details on the most popular wines. The fantasia is an absolute must. $30 per bottle. Bubbly and sweet. The grape juice is also very good. Premium grape juice in a wine bottle for $12. Our tasting included 5 wines for $25 each. Nice place to visit for the scenery and wine.

Truly spectacular vineyard with stunning views of the valley. There are a variety of options for general viewers, and avid wine lovers. The tour guide takes you through the castle rooms (chapel, torture room, underground wine storage areas, etc). You get a sense of how huge the place is once you go to one of the underground wine storage areas, here they store wine at 60% humidity, top them off as they evaporate. Our tour guide gave samples of Cabernet. Once we passed this, we actually came to the tasting area, and all the wines we picked where pretty good. Our favorite being Gewurztraminer (sweet wine).

About Castello di Amorosa

Castello di Amorosa is a unique winery located in the heart of Napa Valley, California. The winery is designed as a medieval-style Tuscan castle, complete with towers, drawbridges, and even a moat. It's an impressive sight to behold and one that transports visitors back in time to the days of knights and castles.

The castle was built by Dario Sattui, who has Italian roots and a passion for wine. He spent over 15 years researching medieval architecture before embarking on this ambitious project. The result is an authentic recreation of a 13th-century castle that looks like it could have been plucked straight out of Tuscany.

Visitors to Castello di Amorosa can explore the castle's many rooms and chambers, including a great hall with soaring ceilings and massive chandeliers. There are also several courtyards where guests can relax with a glass of wine or take in the stunning views of Napa Valley.

Of course, no visit to Castello di Amorosa would be complete without sampling some of their award-winning wines. The winery produces over 30 different wines using traditional methods such as hand-sorting grapes and aging them in oak barrels. Some standout varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Gewürztraminer.

Wine tastings at Castello di Amorosa are offered daily from 9:30 am to 6 pm (except major holidays). Guests can choose from several different tasting options depending on their preferences and budget. For example:

- The general admission ticket includes access to the castle grounds for self-guided tours plus five wine tastings.
- The premium tasting experience includes access to exclusive areas such as the Il Passito Room (where rare dessert wines are aged) plus seven wine tastings.
- Private tours are also available for groups who want a more personalized experience.

In addition to wine tastings, Castello di Amorosa hosts several events throughout the year such as grape stomps during harvest season or Valentine's Day dinners in the castle's candlelit chambers.

Overall, Castello di Amorosa offers visitors an unforgettable experience that combines history, architecture, and world-class wines all in one place. Whether you're a seasoned oenophile or just looking for something unique to do in Napa Valley - this winery should definitely be on your list!
