My family eats there every week. I absolutely love the chicken huarache. When I first had it I asked them to leave off the beans and onions, and now they remember how I like my huaraches. I don t have to say a word. They know what my husband and my daughter want. They are so friendly and efficient. I just wish they had more room because the food and service is so good that it is always crowded. The only bad thing is that they have this wonderful bakery in the back that calls my name to come back there and purchase some of their sweet pastries.

Casa J is one of our favorite places to eat. We have tried almost everything on the menu at least once and can honestly claim - it is all delicious. Trying to decide what to get? You won't go wrong with the fajita beef. My personal favorite is the Huarache with fajita beef.

eat. We enjoyed the atmosphere is much is the food. First time here and we are coming back. Austin, who is a real cool guy at who works at Pet Supplies Plus right by the parks mall in Arlington, told us about this place and we're glad he did.

Cozy & Hospitable!!! As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a welcome followed closely by the smells from the kitchen sizzling away. Both visits back to back left us feeling warm with full bellies. The cafe de la olla was spot on and traditional flavors tightly knit with meticulous care can be found in whichever dish you decide to enjoy. We'll definitely be back for more! #LosDeLaEfe

We trekked down from Fort Worth just to try this place because of the reviews. Wow! Incredible food! One of the few places we've ever found that makes chili rellenos when ordered. Most prepare them in the morning and just reheat later which is an abomination to the soul. Great selection of deserts. Spotlessly clean. Super friendly folks. Clean restroom.

So as a self-proclaimed Chips and Salsa aficionado, I was pretty bummed that you had to pay for them and were limited to the one bowl they gave you. Mainly because they were so dang good and I could ve eaten 4 servings. Everything about the place was great, and I had them at a 4 star...and then the food came out. AMAZING! Everything made fresh. Fresh made tortillas, chips, salsa. It was all incredibly tasty. This has got to be the pride of Venus! This authentic Mexican restaurant could thrive on any street corner in any major city!

Amazing food and atmosphere. It's so surprising to find a restaurant of this quality in Venus. Lots of great vegetarian options. Even though you have to pay for chips and salsa, they are worth it. And you can't skip the bakery case. Everything is delicious and well priced.

Second visit confirms that the food here is better than any Mexican food you can get in Mansfield or Arlington. Authentic mole sauce some of the best that I have had. Fresh guacamole on house made chips was great. Overall attention to detail on all of the dishes sets it apart.

Food is fantastic. Really enjoyed their Mexican coffee, but not anymore. Now it tastes like old coffee with sugar. When we asked the server she said that people were complaining about it so they changed the way they make it. They need to go back to the original recipe and educate their customers who don't know what "Mexican coffee" is supposed to be.

First time I ever got cold fajitas...had to pay for chips and salsa. Can t even dip the chips in the salsa because the salsa comes in too small a container. Had to ask 3 times for pick de Gallo which should come with the fajitas. Plus way over priced!! 30 bucks. I can go down to Alvarado and pay half that. No Such thing as guacamole. And the sour cream was watery like skim milk. Service not so good. Won t be back.

Ps. First tike I ve ever given a review non the less a negative one.

We were on a road trip home and wanted Mexican. Typed in for Google maps to pull up Mexican restaurants on our route. This had 4.9 stars so we ventured out of the typical chain choices.
So glad we did!
Very clean. Very friendly waitress and help. Very good food, the chips and different salsas, guacamole, beef enchilada dinner and chicken enchiladas with mole sauce.
We are fat and happy. Took some homemade desserts to go for when we get home.

Absolutely amazing! Some of the best salsa (the green one) I have ever put in my mouth. Visiting friends from out of town and Google steered us here. There was a brief wait because it was so popular for lunch on Saturday. Friendly attentive service. Great Torta. Yum!

If you enjoy small, unique, down to earth places to eat. This is the place to go. It's located in the quiet town of Venus,Tex. When you first turn onto the street stay on the look at as you might accidentally drive passes it. It's a small venue with just a few seats but don't let discourage you. When you walk in you feel at home. It gives you the feeling of walking into abuelita's house in Mexico. Their decor is on point and their food is just like abuelita's. This was our first time going so we made sure we each tried something different. The menu is not large so it makes it easier to choose. Everything is home made from the chips, to salsa, to their Mexican bread and desserts. For all those who enjoy some hot chocolate or coffee with their bread. They do have a coffee bar. What makes this place feel at home, is everyone is so helpful and generous.

This is the kind of place that you want to keep a secret in order to keep it from getting too popular that you have to call ahead and make reservations just for lunch. The quality of food seems out of place for the price and location!

My family went for the first time last night. We almost walked away because of the crowd. But I am glad we stayed. They got us seated as soon as possible. You place your order at the counter, get a number and they bring the food to your table. I had street tacos 2 beef and 2 chicken, the flavor was great and some of the best I've had. Everyone else in my family liked what they got. Very friendly staff. A real hidden gem in a small town. If you like authentic and nicely presented food, this is it. Hopefully they can expand their seating capacity.

Absolutely delicious, and beautiful plating / presentation! Great service and good pricing too. I'm putting this one in my regular restaurant rotation even though it's WAY out of the way. Worth the drive.

Wow! Amazing food. I mean amazing. Had a party of 8. You order at the counter and find a seat. If you need help they will spend the time to help you. Home made....almost everything. I mean it. Everything except for the kids meal chicken nuggets. Is what I head. We will be back. Gluten free options available.

Excellent food & service. They didn't believe us when we asked for a whole lime slices in half but other than that, amazing food & service. Do yourself a favor and end the meal with 1 of their desserts. The churros were AMAZING.

This place is really really good! I'm come from a Hispanic household and salsas are a must, so I'm always judmental with the salsas from mexican restaurants but the salsa verse that they have here is extremely good! This is definitely homemade type mexican food, not texmex. I will recomend this place to friends.

Absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the chips and salsa, I had the huarache with vegetarian chorizo and nopales (awesome veggie option) my husband had the street taco platter. We also purchased some of their baked goods and a slice of cake, which were delicious as well. The baked goods seemed a tad bit pricey in my opinion. But overall everything was tasty and we will be back again soon!

Nothing spectacular. I tried it...won't make the drive again. It might be the best that this area has to offer...but don't make a special trip expecting great Mexican food....you will be disappointed.

The food here is great. I love their rice. Enchiladas are so good. It is a very small place and always busy. The only thing that I disliked was that you have to go to the counter to order and pay. The food is brought to your table timely.

Everyone here truly cares about making customers feel special and enjoy their experience. The food was delicious! The owner (I assume) chatted with my twins who turned 3 today, and they made sure to give them a cookie for their birthday. So sweet. We will be back.

Great place to eat! A little restaurant, but great food! Service was great. With it being our first time here to eat, we were walked through the menu and the ordering process(where to order/pay). The food was phenomenal! We got the cheese enchiladas and the haurache with the spicy option. It definitely was full of flavor and it was a good portion! It had a nice kick to it as well. The chips and salsa were fresh. The queso blanco was great too. Moving out this way, this is sure to be a favorite spot of ours.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been too. The Huarache is delicious. Staff is friendly and service is good. The pastries are awesome. The ordering process seems to throw people off their first time but not enough to take anything away from the rating

The atmosphere, food, and service level is great! They have a full coffee bar, Mexican sweet breads, homemade tortillas, and fresh chips and salsa. They accept all forms of payment and it is well taken care of. This is Mexican food, not TexMex. It is located in the Venus town square.

The food was good but it wasn't really the taste I'm use to. I found the tamales a little on the sweet side. My husband got the quesadillas and he said the flavor just seemed off. We still ate our meals and enjoyed the restaurant, I got some sweets to go.

The food was absolutely fantastic. Everything is fresh, homemade, and full of flavor! The staff was friendly. The owners were passionate about their restaurant. The decor was unique, well thought out, and unique. We had street tacos, fajita salad, and fajita nachos. The nachos were over the top! Highly recommended! It's worth the drive from anywhere.

Friends of our recommended this place. Wow! Who knew a place like this would be found in Venus. Worth the drive is you are not local. The service and venue was great. Located on their old square in a brick building on the corner. The food is amazing! We ordered three different dishes and shared them all. Full of flavor and homemade. Their salsa is worth the extra charge. Their chips are also homemade and great! The dishes are presented amazing as well.

I ordered the fajita plate with beef and chicken when I got home and I live 5 minutes away and opened it up the beef and chicken was burned the rice was watery there was no pico, no sauce only avocado mixed with tomato s. The veggies were burned and the tortillas were not fresh so you could not bite through them. When I called them back they hung up in my face. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who like Mexican food because this has been my worst experience with a restaurant.

Would've been 5, but the beans and rice well luke warm at best. The chille rellono was good with the chicken, nice size too. The mole enchilada was good would've liked it a little spicier. Chios and salsa and queso good, small portion of chips. Don't forget this is BYOB. Nice cozy place and even seating outside.

Run don't walk to this wonderful small business! We stumbled on to this resturant and were not disappointed. We ordered kids tacos, echiladas, queso and guac, burritos, the torta, and a variety of desserts from their bakery case. The food came out hot and quickly. The torta is one of the best I have had! My 10 year old said the tacos were his favorite of all time. The salsas were clearly homemade and I have never had a salsa quite like them before. The red salsa was mild but packed with flavor. The green salsa had garlic but did not have the acidic earthiness that many green salsas can have. The guac was made fresh and a decent portion for the price. The apple turnover dessert was incredible and the apples were so brightly flavored. The interior is adorable and colorfully decorated. They had small and large tables and a bar available. There was space between each table for COVID safety. All of the staff were wearing masks. Service was fast and they made sure to check in with us several times to make sure everything was okay. Highly Reccomend!

From the delicious breakfast, hot cups of coffee, fresh juice and pastries to the lunch/dinner where each plate we've had not only tastes amazing and authentic but looks incredible too! We've had probably every dish on the menu and have yet to be dissatisfied. Love the owners, you can tell they put pride in their work and treat everyone as a guest in their home. Our favorite place to eat and a must go to!

Oh my goodness I love this little place. Delicious white queso is a must. my roommate have the enchiladas while I have the street taco plate both were phenomenal. There was a small snafu where they forgot are chips and queso but it was well worth the wait. Overall a fabulous place definitely worth trying. Be sure and check the hours before you go.

Order at the counter and staff will deliver drinks, food and periodically check on you. Take your table number with you to pay after the meal. The menu, though not massive, is well executed across dishes more Mex than Tex. Service was prompt though seating was at a premium in this shotgun space on the square. Numerous breakfast dishes are available all day as well and the restaurant features a bakery case filled with freshly prepared Mexican treats. Plenty of parking available around the square, cash and cards are accepted.

Several friends and I made the drive down from Fort Worth to beautiful downtown Venus, Texas.
It was well worth the drive.
Casual atmosphere. Cozy seating. Absolutely wonderful Tex-Mex and Mexican food.
My grandmother from Mexico would make chicken mole for me as a special treat when I visited. The mole sauce on the mole enchiladas at Casa Jacaranda was the first sauce I have had in 50 years that was as good as my grandmother's.
Go there and enjoy.
