Nothing spectacular. I tried it...won't make the drive again. It might be the best that this area has to offer...but don't make a special trip expecting great Mexican food....you will be disappointed.
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. The moment you walk in you know this will be an amazing meal. Locals told me and they were right. Reasonable price for amazing quality, flavor, presentation and customer service. If I lived in Venus I d never eat anywhere else.
The food is always good but you must try the cookies and take some home.
As a frequent customer the food is normally top notch. I've only had just an average experience 1 or 2 times. Otherwise the food is really good and awesome chips and an excellent variety of salsas.
This place really lives up to homemade food. Loved every bit of it. Staff was super friendly. I will definitely come back.

Casa J is an absolute gem, a needle in a haystack! You would never know such an incredible eatery could be found off the beaten path in Venus, Texas. Their food is fresh and made right before your eyes. This is not your standard boring "tex mex," it has a real authentic flair to it. I have never liked chicken enchiladas until I tried them here, and now they are my favorite!! The queso blanco and crema are perfect. My husband's favorite are CJ's nachos with shrimp. My girlfriends and I love coming on weekends for brunch, where you can get the most amazing waffles covered in whipped cream, strawberries, and almond shavings. The eggs and papas are incredible too. Truthfully, there's nothing I've had here that wasn't hands and shoulders above any other Mexican restaurant I've been to. I would make a special trip regardless of the distance for Casa Jacaranda! It's worth the drive! Don't miss it!
This hidden gem of Mexican cuisine is worth the drive! Tex Mex favorites, but with a unique spin. Enchiladas, Tacos, Fajitas etc are wonderful. Heck, even the chips and salsa are superior to most of not all the other local area places. A Mexican coke (bottled in Mexico) is the perfect complement to the wonderful food. They also have fresh baked goods available for dessert- treat yo self, don t cheat yo self!

The food is great. The place is clean. Waiters are friendly. Menudo is the best. It s a nice little place. You should give it a try. We drive from Arlington to Venus every couple of months to eat here and we have never been disappointed.
However Now that the place has been there a while and it s not a secret anymore so the tables are super wobbly from abuse.
I know it s hard to run a restaurant, but the owners should spend a few bucks on some tables otherwise someone like myself might slightly bump the table which would cause a tall Mexican coke bottle to tip over and hit a big glass of tea and spill it all over the floor. Ugh! Sorry about that.
The two tables we tried to sit at were very wobbly. I can take a little wobble on the tables but these were BAD! Almost to the point where I don t want to come back for fear of getting a bad table again.
We will be back and hopefully the tables get fixed or replaced.

It's hard to believe one can find such a good place to eat in such a small, out of the way location. They make their own corn and flour tortillas here as well as baked goods. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals and the service was attentive and friendly.
If you love Authentic Mexican food, this is place. Delicious food and pastries. I love going to this place to eat. They have street tacos, tortas, Enchiladas and much more!

Great little Mexican restaurant bringing some life into downtown Venus, TX, serving up authentically delicious food. You order at the counter, which we found fast and efficient, then sit. In our case, food arrived within a minute or two of ordering, hot and beautifully composed. I had the huarache, a long corn tortilla topped with beans, rice, chicken, and a really delicious crema. I also ordered the chips & salsa; the chips are clearly house-made, on the thick side, crunchy and perfect for scooping the two types of salsa. The green salsa was pleasantly hot and well-seasoned, while the red salsa was very smooth and thin, a good foil for the sturdy chips. Everything was delicious!

One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been too. The Huarache is delicious. Staff is friendly and service is good. The pastries are awesome. The ordering process seems to throw people off their first time but not enough to take anything away from the rating
It's worth the drive. Everything we have ordered has been delicious and this family owned restaurant has wonderful baked goods also.

The food here is soooooo good! They have the best cheese enchiladas with white queso. The green salsa is awesome. On the weekends their menudo is delicious. I highly reccomend this place.
Casa Jacaranda is the closest to authenticate Mexican food as your going to get. I'm from El Paso where I've dined on Authentic Mexican food and not that Texmex, which I wouldn't rate a 3. Way to go Casa Jacaranda!

Don't let the reviews fool you. This is all frozen food at best. Its not good. Its not decent. Its pretty bad. Just go into Mansfield or Midloathian and get food. People keep commenting how its the real deal, and its nowhere close. The food is terrible and overcooked. They water down their sauces to an extreme I've only seen at Ponchos. At least Ponchos tastes decent.
Met up with my buddy for lunch and had the Enchiladas de Mole. It was fantastic. Great flavor and presentation. In the past I have also had their tacos de barbacoa and it was also wonderful. Call it off with friendly staff. I ll be going back

This place is great, from the coffee to menudo to burritos and bakery, you won t regret any. Make sure to give the Cafe de Oya a try! This is definitely one of my favorite places around.

First time here. Food was good. Even more impressive was how they handled a large party that walked in the door 10 minutes or so after closing. There were 3 ladies working up front. 2 at the grill and one at the entrance and all 3 of them greeted the large party with a smile and assured them that they were welcome to dine in. As the young lady takes all of their orders and they head to grab a table, I sit there watching and waiting for the employees to complain for having to stay late, that never happened. Kudos ladies, great customer service. We will be back.
The food here is great. I love their rice. Enchiladas are so good. It is a very small place and always busy. The only thing that I disliked was that you have to go to the counter to order and pay. The food is brought to your table timely.
I ordered from the Mansfield location using door dash. DoorDash wasn t working properly and I couldn t reach their customer service. By mistake I called the Venus location. They went above and beyond to help me even though my order wasn t at their location. I couldn t be more impressed with their customer service. I ended up picking up my food from the Mansfield location and it was delicious! I m sure this location is the same. Highly recommend!
