This place has great food and atmosphere. Every once in a while they will host local musicians. It s really quite a treat! The location of this place is amazing. Down in quaint little Carversville. I highly recommend this stop on a bike ride or country tour. They have great breakfast and lunch meals and much more. There is even a post office inside! It s my favorite place to go for a weekend brunch. On a warm sunny day I suggest going out to the field where there are benches to sit and eat. After your meal, take a stroll down Fleecy Dale rd it s too beautiful!

A hidden gem of a spot hidden in a charming little town that s pretty tucked away and hidden itself. If you re looking for something off the beaten path, stop here! Great food and good coffee. Staff are always friendly and the building and outdoor seating are really cool.

Interesting local shop with a decent small selection, has a little produce stand out front, stopped for coffee during a 52 mile bike ride. People seem really friendly, and they have a bike stand out on the side that can accommodate a good number of bikes on it.

Food handling and food safety was minimally satisfactory. Service was minimal at best. Appearance was OK. Food was high priced and OK. They are stuck in the middle, bring it up a notch to meet the prices and the surrounding area or bring it down a notch and just make it good. Will not go back, I can handle some below average food safety/handling but on top of the service, that s a big NOPE. (Anyone handling the cash register and food NEEDS to wash their hands between stations, regardless of using a single rubber glove, just one note on specifics)

Max Hansen Carversville Grocery has become something of a destination in and of itself. While most stores are utilitarian, Hansen has become famous for his smoked salmon, which he has been lovingly crafting for decades. His store reflects his dedication to finer culinary experiences.
On weekends, people flock to the store for his gourmet breakfast sandwiches and coffee before setting out for a day of sightseeing around Bucks County. During the week, locals and contractors come to partake in one of his sandwiches or lunch entrees and one of the store's amazing baked goods.
Be forewarned - indoor seating is very limited. However, if you come on a nice day, you can sit outside on a bench or at a table in a grassy glen by the creek. You may also wish to phone in your order ahead of time if you plan on getting lunch or coming during peak-times. Everything is made to order, so the wait is longer than a typical deli.
Hansen's is cyclist friendly with a bike rack to the left of the building. The store is stocked with a variety of cyclist friendly foods, from coffee and baked goods to energy bars.

I was out on a long bicycle ride in a beautiful part of Bucks County and came down the hill and saw this place. I stopped in to see if I could get some water and a snack. They had a spot outside to hand your bike and even a jug of water for what I assume was for cyclists. Inside there's a very quaint store with lots of items and they have really good prepared foods along with fresh coffee. The staff inside were very nice as well. Outside there's a nice area with picnic benches to sit and have some food, drink and take a breather. It's a really nice halfway point on a bike route for me, so glad I found it.

Call ahead for best-in-area breakfast sandwiches on you-pick-it bagels (salt bagels too).
Plenty of local items for sale, including a wonderfully entertaining CD from a local artist woman.
The people there are uber-friendly, and you feel at home inside the store, which additionally serves as a meeting grounds for locals.
No info on whether their prices beat the other local general stores, but the food quality and atomosphere and service certainly do.

Wow! That little kitchen made the best egg burrito special! Very very good. ( And not sloppy to eat either) The cinnamon bun had a French pastry dough and it was just delicious! Not much seating there ..sit at little window bar type thing. But worth it! Very nice people there too!

When Max took over the general store it was a wonderful boost for the community. The quality of the food is superb and the people are a delight. It s a gourmet experience all around. I have had VIP clients from out of town who were extremely impressed. We re very fortunate to have such a place so close.

I had a tasty peach crepe here for lunch the other day. I love that there are different specials every day in addition to the regular menu. My favorite thing about Max Hansen Carversville Grocery is the new people I meet whenever I visit. This is an old fashioned country store where people go to meet and hangout- the fact that the food is world class delicious is a plus! Oh, BTW, the coffee is great.
