Very cool shop with lots of unique guitars, it was busy and they were understaffed when i went in but there was enough to look at to keep me occupied. Definitely worth checking out if you're a guitar nerd, they have a great used selection for pedals too!

Lots of guitars, but could not get waited on.Everyone was too busy to even answer a simple question. All I needed was a stand for a guitar; so after 20 minutes I drove over to Gruhn
and found a really nice custom wood stand for only $200.00!!! I got the absolute vibe that I didn't look "cool" enough to be in their shop.

Amazing array of vintage and new guitars. Employees and owners are a pleasure to talk to. So warm and friendly. Let you play any guitars in their collection. Could spend hours walking around the store

just wasted 30 minutes of my time sitting at the Carter Vintage store waiting on someone to aprsise my 64 Standel... nobody paying attention to customers , you can spend your whole day sitting here and waiting without anyone saying a word to you ... I don t have time for this, going to Guitar Center or Gruhns... this was my second , and last visit to Carter Vintage ...

Grade A! The staff is so helpful and friendly. They fixed my guitar and gave me a really low price. They were so accommodating. They even gave me a free tuner and told me how to use it. This place was amazing! Two thumbs way up!

Mind-blowing selection of instruments. Bought a previously owned mandolin here. It was set-up perfectly. Staff was great and knowledgeable. Got a decent deal on it. They were willing to bargain enough with me that I walked away with a great instrument and felt good about it.

Fun store. Lots a strats and Les Pauls. Lots of acoutsics. You'll be there a while! You can play. Sales people are great. Also have picks, pedals, strings, t shirts. Near downtown Nashville, TN.

Great selection of guitars and you can play most of them without issue. The staff during my experience were helpful, knowledgeable, and have a great sense of humor. Would make my next instrument purchase here when I come thru Nashville again.

My previous trip to Nashville, my friend and I went to Gruhn's and each bought vintage Gibsons. This trip we discovered Carters. I didn't think Gruhn's could be beaten. Now I am not so sure. Every aspect of the experience at Carters was outstanding. Never did I feel pressure from a salesman but I always knew they were nearby. I'll be back!

Did I mention we each walked out, Gary got another Gibson, mine was a Martin this time. What can I say, the guitars insisted.

I've been dealing with Carter Vintage since they've opened. Walter and his staff and always treated me with the upmost respect every time I've gone in the store even though I am not anybody of importance. I recommend them as highly as possible. If you are in the market for a new instrument do yourself a favor and include them in your shopping list.

Awesome place! Sales members are nice and helpful, but not in your face and not pressure-selling. Great selection of instruments. If you're a guitarist, it would be tough to walk out without drooling over at least one instrument. Free parking for customers, which is nice. Most parking in the area costs $$.

Don't write many reviews, but Lindz in the tech shop really went above and beyond for me, and just for a minor setup job too, not a major money maker. My guitar feels and sounds great - like my best hopes for it.

Aside from doing a bang up job on the setup, he took a good chunk of his time with me (more than was justified by the amount of money I was spending, really); he answered and asked a lot of questions, really spending time with me to get the setup they way I like it and to give me the confidence it was being left in good hands.

I was considering different pickup options and setup options aside from the setup adjustments, so he had me try a few guitars in the shop to get an idea of what I liked compared to what the current state of my guitar was. I was grateful for that, because I ended up liking my own axe more than I realized, actually.

As an added 'above and beyond'... I play 12's and I like a solid D string, which is very uncommon and they didn't have in stock, but he managed to get one for me before doing the setup.

Oh yeah, that in all than less than a 24 hour turnover, which again was above and beyond call of duty.

I only learned after the fact that Lindz is a heavyweight guitar tech for some of the top names in the biz, and makes beautiful custom guitars that look crazy-authentically vintage (it's spooky).

Now I just have to make an annual trip to Nashville for setups, ha!

Aside from being a converted big fan of Lindz, all the staff (Heather at the front desk, and others) were very cool and helpful and seemed content just to let me roam around and try things, but were also helpful asking questions and helping me get set up to play different guitars/pedals etc.

All this, and I wasn't spending thousands of dollars there either. They just treated me kindly and respectfully like any good customer might be treated, which is a rare jewel these days, it seems.

Cheers, Carter Vintage and Lindz! Thank you!

Amazing selection of stringed instruments from reasonably price to tens of thousands of dollars. Hands friendly. Play anything you like. Vince Gill was hanging out behind the counter while we was there talking to everyone.

Fantastic collection of guitars, bass, and an vivid assortment of all other stringed dobros, mandolins & such. Really friendly folks are on hand to help out. Wonderful selection of straps and, while it was not a Franklin strap I found, (highly recommended btw), I did find a perfectlyatched strap I'd been hunting for. Always worth a visit when in Nashville!!!

I worked with Drew for an on-line purchase of the '57 reissue Stratocaster. He was very professional and great to work with. He took the time to explain the condition of guitar and send me additional pictures. When I received the guitar it was exactly as described. I could not be happier with the purchase. Thanks!

Good gear and decent prices but don't expect more than the bare minimum of service unless you're a whale of a spender. They won't tell you about any issues with or history of the instrument unless you specifically ask (especially on used guitars). The main offender is Drew Smithers.

The employees here are all very kind & allowed my boyfriend to plug in & jam on an eight grand Les Paul Gibson. He was in heaven & wanted everything in the store. Their collection is fantastic. It's a must see for any serious guitarist.

If you are a musician this place is more than worth stopping at. Beautiful collection of guitars, mandolins, and more that are ready for you to explore and play. The prices are right on most of the pieces I looked at and they have skilled luthiers in the back if you need repairs. Probably the best guitar shop to visit in the country.

I was blown away by the sheer number of guitars up on display that you can just pick up and try. Lots of vintage and restored guitars. I could have spent all day here but my non guitar friends were getting restless so we left. Otherwise I might have talked myself into spending an obscene amount on a vintage guitar. So probably for the best. Anyway, if you're a guitar person, this is your place.

This place is really cool even if you want to just walk around. If you're a musician, you'll love this place. Everything is very cool and high quality so expect the price tags to reflect that. Regardless, go here and take a gander and the beauty and history and sounds. If you're a mandolin player, they have octave mandolins here!

This is a musician's Mecca! To hold these antique instruments and actually be encouraged to play them by the staff is a dream come true! Ancient "The Gibson," mandolins, gut-wrenching bass coming from an old Martin D28, and my daughter picking up a 60's era Stratocaster and jamming with me in the testing room was priceless! The staff, the inventory, and the choices are just what music city needs and has cherished for years.

A guitarist dream store. Beautiful selection of amazing guitars with history. You go in and it's like trying to choose a puppy, when all the puppies want you. It's just like that, without the poop and pee.

Crazy awesome store! One of the most indepth stores I've ever seen for guitars. Great staff that is helpful. They allow you to play guitars you might be interested in. By far one of the largest selections I've ever seen and they repair some of the top guitars in the industry. Must stop for guitar lovers!!

This has to be one of my most favorite music shops I've ever been to. All of the instruments here are American-made with such high-quality. With American-made instruments, they were quite expensive, but you are allowed to play them as long as you want. I absolutely love Weber Octave Mandolin!!
