I enjoy my southern chicken salad and Bloody Mary it came in a timely manner. My friend ribs came 35 minutes after my order. My other friend's chicken never came after 4o minutes. The manager came over and work with us. Still disappointing for my friends.

Toya was our server for our party of 21 on December 20th, 2019 in Durham NC. She was very helpful, friendly and a great server despite the size of our group. I highly recommend seeing Toya next time you visit the Durham NC restaurant. Jackie C.
My overall experience was great. It was a friendly, laid-back environment. The server was phenomenal! My only complaint was how long the food took to come out of the kitchen. There was less than 20 ppl inside the restaurant, so I'm not sure what the hold up was. But I'd definitely return!
With Covid requirements the usual efficiency was understandably compromised. The food is still better than expected for a pub. And the staff was doing its best to cope with the compromised conditions. Safety precautions were well planned and well executed.
I came back home to Durham for a few days and stopped back at my old stomping grounds. I used to come here back in 05 before I moved away. I really want to say that I was very pleased with my bartender Bianca. Even with a hurt leg she provided fast friendly and efficient service. She is rare. Take care of her Ale house. She is an asset.
You can play pool or just relax while waiting on your food.Staff is friendly. Nice atmosphere.
On January 4, I visited this establishment and was very happy with my service. Erin was the best Bartender ever!! She was fast, on point and very attentive!!!
Much better than the last time we were there. The service was great! The drinks were not watered down. The manager was out and about talking to customers laughing. He even took pickures for a group of ladies. Nice personalization!

Absolutely the worst service I have EVER HAD.
My waitress was beyond rude and disrespectful.
She took my broccoli back and rolled her eyes and didn't speak. Had no idea if I was getting another side or if I wasn't getting anything.
Told the manager and then she came back with an extremely awful disrespectful attitude and said "did you ask for a other drink" I said no but you took my glass and I just received my meal.
She said you didn't ask rudely and I said ma'am I'm not going to be disrespected like this.
The manager comped our meal but the fact I walked up without eating my food to leave a restaurant because I was so disrespected..
I will drive to the Raleigh ale house from here on out! I would suggest you do the same.
We are visiting from Maine and looking for a fun place to get a beer and some food. We had an amazing waitress who was very friendly and the manager came over to personally welcome us since we had never been before. The food was good pub food.
Ok so I've always loved this place since it opened up. There is a big bar in the center of the restaurant that stays open until 2am nightly I believe. Even the tables around there stay open and available for you to eat dinner that late. There is a section in the back with 2 pool tables and about 5 or 6 arcade games. It's a fun place and nice for lunch or dinner. Also On Tuesday kids meals are only 99cents which is a great deal because they have a lot of quality kids meals. This last time however my nachos and my husband's salad were both so spicy it was difficult to eat. I couldn't get past 2 bites and tool 3 glasses of water to get my mouth to finally cool off. Usually it's never been a problem with the nachos being spicy so I think it was just a bad night. They were really busy so it could have been that. But anyways I'm sure if you try it you will like it :)
This was my first time going there, The waiters take long to attend the customers. Once our food came to our table the food looked great but the problem was the plate they served me the rice had a nasty taste to it, it seemed like they made it about five days ago and just served it to us, the whole entire plate tasted gross. Wasn't a great experience.
Service was horrible took forever to get food and had to repeatedly ask for someone to find my server won't be back.
Great service. Awesome selection of beers. GM Antoine is a true professional as is the bartender Drake. Got the games I wanted to watch on the TV for me. I had the rib/chicken combo. Delicious! This place made me feel welcome the minute I walked through the door. I travel on business most every week and trust me. I don't often find this great of service

they didn t ever ask to refill my drink and it took over an hour to get my food. the waitress was also really rude and got irritated when i asked for ketchup. not to mention, the food wasn t very good at all and the service was awful and very uncoordinated.

I needed a quick lunch and a Wi-Fi hookup. I ordered their special $5.99 lunch it was pretty good it was a BLT and I chose a side salad instead of the soup. Watch some basketball highlights and worked for a while on my laptop. I would recommend the BLT the bacon was good the salad was nice crisp no wilted lettuce. Overall it was a good lunch but I was not highly impressed.
The food was outstanding, very delicious. The staff was friendly and accomodating. Our server, Jay, outshined them all. He made us feel like we had been long time friends as soon as he spoke to us. His food reccomendations were on point and his service was quick and thorough. We will definitely be returning.
Food is mediocre overall and bad for the price. Atmosphere is loud but not in a fun way. You get the sense that no planning was put into the number of people that they put into the restaurant at any one time...they just hope that the staff can handle the demand and the chaos.

We waited over half an hour for food which came out finally, was wrong. Then when we asked for it to be fixed it took another 20 minutes for the right wings. The manager was cursing at the servers and kitchen the entire time WITH AIRPODS IN. So unprofessional. We got charged for the wings which weren t good. So disappointing wouldn t recomend to anyone at the moment. Super upset. I m in the service industry and haven t seen such a lack of management and care for guests. Fine. Nothing was bad but nothing was great. From the atmosphere to the service to food, mediocre at best.
Fries were stale. Service was horrible slow.. still waiting at the lomena and I am very tempted to yell for someone. It's been 15 min since she last check up with us.
Went to the ale house on 15-501 with a friend and for one it took 30 minutes for our server to come to us after walking past our table numerous of times. My friend ordered food which wasn't even fully cooked, when she told the server she removed the plate. Returned back to the table with the exact same meat she sent back now it was burnt. Because they just put it back in the oven.
That's what made me not want to go to the ale house anymore. Putting meat back into an oven that was bitten into is very disgusting.
I'll never eat at the ale house again. Host are rude, servers are rude, even the managers.

Did not fix my order the way I want but the hostess made sure I was happy before I left. I placed a call in order.
I came here yesterday with a friend and ate. The food wasn't all that great and when I spoke to the manager he was very apologetic and covered my meal. but the reason I am writing this review is because I believe I got norovirus from this place. I'm very sensitive and I had wings and a salad... and the very next morning I had vomiting and diarrhea. I loved my experience the first time I can but due to the poor cleanliness conditions, I wont be coming back here.
I gave three stars because the manager was genuine, you could tell he was doing his best.

It's okay. food was nothing special but the service is what did it in for me. Slow, unhelpful and hard to find. Often looked back and saw servers chatting it up when I needed refills. Dont these people understand REFILLS. I need to consistently have the ability for liquid to ooze down my throat. Next time, I will rage.

My latest experience at this restaurant involved not only terrible service, but also food poisoning and questionable money handling. It took about twenty minutes from the time me and five friends sat down to the time our waiter decided to grace us with his presence to take our drink orders. Half an hour later or so, we began to receive our meals in fragments, which our server simply shrugged it off as being the kitchen's fault. When it came time to pay for our meal, an individual in our group tried three different credit/debit cards to pay for his meal, which the server insisted weren't working, despite having worked earlier in the day. It wasn't until after this person validated that, indeed, each one of those cards should have been sufficient, that we began to contemplate what our server must have been trying to accomplish, which could not have been good. And to top everything else off, I was violently ill later in the evening from what had to have been food poisoning at the Ale House.
The worst part about this whole situation is that the management doesn't care to hear your concerns, as a simple phone call to report food poisoning is flippantly received and disregarded. I wouldn't even try eating there - their food is certainly not worth the hardship.

We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered while two other tables who were seated and ordered after us received theirs much quicker. When we asked after 30 minutes, we were told the sandwiches were up but waiting on fries. It still took another 10-15 minites to get our meals. Same story different details every time. So done with this place.
Went to the Ale House in Durham yesterday for dinner with a couple of guys from work. Expected bad service and a long wait time for food but ended up getting the complete opposite, which is why I am writing this review. This experience was a complete 360 compared to what we normally experience there thanks to the waitress, Heather.
If you come to this Durham Ale House be sure to ask for Heather or SK (SK or Kat would generally wait on us when we come in during business lunches, but have never asked for a review). Heather may ask you to do a review in the end but the service deserves 5 stars.
By the way I recommend starting with wings, theyre the best around!
A group of 5 of us went for dinner. I had never been to a Carolina Ale House and was pretty excited to try it. They were not busy at all (may 13 tables in the whole place) Took forever for us to get drinks (regular and alcoholic). Waited 15 minutes for the waitress to come get our food order. Waited 30 minutes for the food. Appetizers came out with the entrees and everything was cold. Got half our food waited another 10 minutes and got the other half of our tables food. Drinks stayed empty most of the time. There was a hair in the chips. Sat for 20 minutes waiting for boxes and the checks (split it 3 ways) . Asked a passing waitress for boxes. Our waitress came back we told her we needed our checks. She brought our checks and they were completely wrong. Would ve been better if the service didn t suck, the food was actually hot when served and if the appetizers came out BEFORE the actual meals. I would NOT recommend this location to anyone nor will I come back to this location.

Needless to say, I will never step foot back in this location. I went here as a couple with another couple. So there were four of us. When it came time to pay there was a lot of sketchy things going on. The other couple put down 35 dollars in cash to cover their bill, we put down one of my credit cards. She came back to me and said they don't take those types of cards. (It was a visa, pretty standard if you ask me.) So, since she'd already taken entirely too long to do everything else, in an effort to speed things up, I gave her another credit and debit card. BIG MISTAKE. She comes back, says it took on the other credit card, hands me both cards and the ticket to sign and then leaves. The other couple mentioned they never got their change, but assumed that she assumed it was her tip. And stupidly, I didn't bring home my receipt.
2 days later I look at my banking statements. The correct charge for us is on the credit card. I check my debit card and there is another transaction, totaling exactly what the other couple's ticket was. So I called the girl that was with us just to revisit everything that happened. We remember that she never bought them their change and the deal with the cards. Only to realize that she actually had the nerve to put their tab on my card and pocket the money herself. Now yes, we were not at the register, but that alone is weird enough to know what happened, plus she was not that friendly and really didn't act like she wanted to be there. I work with the public, it doesn't matter how much you don't want to be there, you smack a happy face on and make them believe all you want at that moment is to be there and make them happy.
So I've spent the last 2 months in a dispute with my bank about this. I tried talking to the store, but they somehow could not find our transactions, so rather than calling back and doing a million different things, my banker just told me to go through the bank to dispute it. I just got the letter telling me they don't have enough proof to reimburse me. So, thus leading to an angry customer coming on here to warn everyone....DO NOT TRUST THIS ESTABLISHMENT! There were some friendly faces, but just this one person that stole from us is enough to ruin us from ever going back. Stay honest people. Stealing is wrong.
Went twice in two nights. Very good food, fried pickles especially. Pool tables, patio and enough space to feel comfortable in this new day of distance. JoJo and Hunter are awesome bartenders. Check em out.
