About Cardiovascular research foundation
The Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) is a nonprofit organization that focuses on improving the survival and quality of life for people with cardiovascular disease through research and education. The foundation was established in 1990 by Dr. Martin B. Leon, a renowned interventional cardiologist, and has since become one of the leading organizations in the field of cardiovascular research.
At CRF, our mission is to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease by advancing scientific knowledge, promoting excellence in patient care, and educating healthcare professionals and patients alike. We believe that through collaboration between researchers, clinicians, industry partners, patients, and their families we can make significant strides towards achieving this goal.
Our team at CRF consists of world-class researchers who are dedicated to discovering new treatments for heart disease. Our research programs cover a wide range of topics including coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, arrhythmias and electrophysiology among others.
One area where we have made significant progress is in the field of interventional cardiology. Our researchers have been instrumental in developing new techniques for treating complex cardiac conditions such as chronic total occlusions (CTOs), left main coronary artery disease (LMCAD), bifurcation lesions among others.
In addition to our research programs, we also offer educational programs aimed at healthcare professionals as well as patients with cardiovascular diseases. Our educational initiatives include conferences such as TCT (Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics) which is one of the largest gatherings focused on interventional cardiology worldwide.
We also offer online courses aimed at providing healthcare professionals with up-to-date information on emerging trends in cardiovascular medicine including advances in imaging technology such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) or optical coherence tomography (OCT).
At CRF we are committed to making a difference not only through our research but also by advocating for policies that promote access to quality care for all patients regardless of their socioeconomic status or geographic location.
