Capitol Villa Office Reviews

Last year I enjoyed living in Collingwood apartments and liked the leasing office (office in Capitol Villa). That s why I choose to live in Capitol Villa this year. The location is great, and there is free coffee. However, the noises have been bothering me a lot since I moved in. I am living in the building where the laundry is. I am on the second floor, and just above the laundry. When someone is using the washers or dryers, or when the vent of the laundry bathroom is on, noise can be loudly heard in my room. Also, whenever the people living upstairs walk around in their apartment, the floor squeaks very loudly. I wrote an email about the noises I am getting. The manager told me that they will contact the maintenance to see if there is anything they could do. However, it s been more than two weeks now and nothing changed. I don t believe that there s nothing they can do to solve the problem. Maybe simply getting some sound proof materials for my apartment could help. But they never did anything.

I have lived here for almost a year now first time with CV and not very impressed. For starters when we moved into our duplex we were welcomed with terrible paint splatters all over the beams in the ceiling and around pantry trims. Washer connection is terrible water hose isn t long enough so water sprays everywhere and covers the basement floor. Sinks clog every time we use them. Water is hot or cold every other day even when bills are payed on time. And not to mention the last minute tours they warn us about and waking up to random people in your bedroom while your sleeping viewing your room making themselves at home. Would not recommend living here.

Horrible customer service. They don t provide you with any move out statements especially if your the 2nd name on the lease. Sent to collections for a charge I did not know existed and are unwilling to help. Garbage customer service. Be warned!

I only recently moved into Capitol Villa with my roommate and will write another review in a year when our lease ends, but for now I would like to comment on the absolutely wonderful service we recieved moving in. Being first time movers is overwhelming as young adults, but Capitol Villa made moving easy and stress-free. Setting up a tour was incredibly easy over the phone and our wonderful leasing agent, Morgan, made the experience even better by allowing us a second tour on the day we signed the lease to take a second look. Morgan made moving very easy and provided us with a packet of details to attend to after move in. The only complaint I have may be that signing into the wifi was a hassle, but that is a Spartan-Net issue, not the apartment's. Thanks to Capitol Villa and Morgan we had a smooth transition and a beautiful new apartment and we couldn't be happier. Thanks guys!

Terrible place to live. Old and outdated. The rooms get way too hot because there is only the one AC unit. I had awful mold problems the entire time I lived there. They even tried to charge me nearly $1000 for "damage" in our bathroom when I moved out because of the terrible mold that was there when I moved in. Closet doors break off of hinges. The front desk was always terrible to deal with. Please see my previous photos of some.of the mold I had to deal with. GIVE YOUR MONEY TO SOMEONE ELSE! DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!

Some good some bad. The pool is only really usable doing the summer so if you're a student who leaves campus when school is out you will get very limited use of it, however the hot tub is open all the time. My biggest complaint is how loud it is. One source of noise is our own bathroom which my bedroom shares a wall with. If the shower is on and you are in this room, it WILL wake you up, it's that loud. The other source of noise comes from the thin walls. Particularly when the people in the apartment above or next to you get intimate, the creaking and other noises that can be heard in the apartment are pretty noticeable. Plus they constantly just turn the water off for "maintenance" during the middle of the day.

Another point of contention for me has been the kitchen. The cabinets basically are terrible. For example, we have a silverware drawer that does not open because it is blocked by the oven. Then, instead of making standard upgrades (ex. installing okay cabinets), they came to my roommate and I and said if they bumped our rent by a bunch, they would make some basic upgrades to the kitchen when we signed out next lease.

On a better note, maintenance is usually quick but on more than one occasion, they left unfinished or unsatisfactory work. Additionally, the apartment is a decent size and parking is easy 99% of the time. Overall, it is just okay value. If you can afford to spend a little more to live somewhere else, maybe you should.

I have been a resident at Capitol Villa for two years now and I am happy that I am moving soon. The official leasing office has been under construction for over a year now, so that the resident lounge has been invaded by the "temporary leasing office" , and you cannot make use of it. Also, with 90+ degrees during summer, the pool and hot tub are currently under construction, so residents cannot use them! It is a shame that most of the services we are paying for, are currently unavailable. It is no excuse to say that constructions/renovations just happen, because the pool construction could have been started right after the last snow and would be ready now for residents to enjoy.

The maintenance staff is very quick to come solve any issues with the apartment! My heating system was broken and they came the same day and were extremely friendly and concerned with helping me fix the problem. They told me they'd be back with new parts the next day to fix it and they did, and I haven't had any issues since! Another time, my garbage disposal was broken and they came the same day I sent in a request and fixed it by the time I was home from work. I'm so thankful for them!

Living at Capitol Villa has so far been a pleasant experience. Every apartment has its downsides but the leasing office staff, especially Kimberly, is very friendly and helpful. I receive a lot of packages and I appreciate the email notices I get sent to pick up my items. The leasing office and the lounge are always spotless clean and have a great atmosphere. I also love the Starbucks machine in the study lounge. Definitely a great place to live and a great price!

They will manipulate you into signing a lease early telling you it's the only apartment left at that price which they admitted after my complaint isn't true. Ended up paying more for an outdated apartment than other residents do for an upgraded one. They are only care about your money and not their residents.
