Capital City Grill Review

The Food here is really good. I love the collard greens and fried turkey wings and my husband loves the yams, cornbread, and pork chops. Great place for takeout!

The food is home cook and not feel with fatback and other ham products good home cooking food is fresh with seasoning food like your mother or grandmother would make everything is home cook.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars! I mean really they are that good. I recently moved to the Charlotte area and I love to venture out to shop and try different food spots. I found a hidden gem and thank goodness I did! Since I've moved to Charlotte NC there is NO GOOD SOUL FOOD places like back home. I mean I didn't have one complaint the cornbread was A1 omg! The sweet chili deep fried turkey wings and the lemon honey glazed turkey wings were good. Mac& cheese and yams were A1 and I mean it's really worth the money it came with 3 sides & 2 turkey wings for $12 this place is 80 miles away from me and idc im definitely coming back again and again. Please try if you haven't!!!!! Like seriously!!

So I went there for the first time the other day and I ordered a chicken wing dinner,so I got my food and left I didn't even look at it before I left but the wings taste tough,the macaroni was mushy,hopefully if I go back it will be better.i still haven't received a response from anyone ----when I can go get my food(I've reached out several times)

My family and I came in to reminisce memories of my dad who had passed away years ago, celebrating the memories of him and what would've been his birthday. No racism to this but while looking over the menu a white cashier lady was kind of rushing me to make my order. Granted my 2 year old daughter kept crying for me as my mom and sister tried to comfort her but she rushed me through. Once I received my Sunday's dinner order, everything was perfect except for the meatloaf. It looked good on the outside however on the inside it was red. Instead of complaining about it, I decided to take it home to heat it up to cook through. This was our first time visiting Capital City Grill and although the food was good for the most part, we weren't satisfied with the size of the restaurant in accommodating our family nor was I completely satisfied with my order. The while lady was nice but just rushy.

Food was just nasty ! The only thing I liked were the yams that's about the only thing that was made right .

Turkey wings were good sides not so great. They need younger people working the front. Service was very slow.

This was my very first time visiting Capital City Kitchen & Grill. I ordered the fried lemon pepper turkey wing meal, and I must say everything on my plate was absolutely delicious. I ll definitely be coming back!

The food is good. Great place for turkey wings. The dine in area is small but appears clean. The wait time is not bad. They accept online orders as well. The staff was friendly.

Food is super delicious! And reasonably priced! Used their website to order and food was when I walked in. The fried rib tips are must try!

Was there on Sunday! Too many people inside no mask! Is it Mynt or Capital City grill? The workers had on mask no gloves. Please close the inside of your establishment just have call in order only.
The food is good. But the atmosphere was all wrong.

I ordered online with no problems. When I arrived the girls at the desk were very friendly. The food was delicious and the helpings were so large that I had enough for the next day.

I love the new location on Decker... my food was even better if possible!!! I ordered 3 dinners, I was treated pleasantly, my food was great, the atmosphere is all of that!! I will be back!!

We love Capital City Takeout! The service is always friendly and fast. Most of all everything I have tried not he menu is AMAZING! The deep fried rib tips, the lemon pepper turkey wings, the Philly cheesesteak, and the shrimp & grits are so far my all time favorites. I have already started making them a weekly dinner item in my house and lunch item for my office.

The first thing I did was call to ask a question and the person who answered the phone was very polite. When I walked into the place it was so much love. The atmosphere there is so comfortable. Now let's get to the food everything me and my husband taste was like that good ole cooking that your grandma cook. Please go try them out thy are delicious. I also pray that God will continue to bless there business

Price increase since the relocation. The fried chicken taste different after the move.

Had Turkey wings.....The wings were not good at all supposedly flavored but was not! I was told by several people to try these and I wasn't impressed at all.

Bae use to always tell me about this restaurant and i use to always down it because im very picky about food , But after actually tasting/eating .. Capital city became one of my favorite restaurants! Now im annoying him when i dont want to cook lol

Placed a takeout order with Ms. Tiara, who was very pleasant. She made me feel as though my order mattered. The food was packaged as requested and very tasty. Will be back!

Mac and cheese, yams and chicken were bustin, make sure you order online. Great Sunday dinner

Terrible customer service. We were spoken to once before getting left for 15 minutes for the only server to go take 8 people's to go order and everyone else's drinks that are sitting and waiting before getting back to us. I left when she was taking their orders. Don't open up if you don't know the name of your restaurant everywhere it says mynt. And you obviously don't know how to staff people that are worth anything.

Best restaurant to go to if your in Columbia.Do food is great.I wish I could give more stars.

The barbecue baked chicken was amazing the college greens tasted fantastic and the green Apple lemonade Jesus Christ there are no words for how good that was. The Mac and cheese was serviceable you can tell it's bulk made. Not exactly oven baked traditional Southern but far better then what most fast food restaurants offer in a lot of Mac and cheese. The rice and gravy was just rice and gravy. Although I will say I've been to places where that had a hard race this was not one of those places. Over all I thoroughly enjoyed my food 5 stars

I had a meal re-made to perfection! Perfect customer service, couldn't ask for more! I absolutely love their fried turkey wings and the corn bread!! Cleaned my plate we'll definitely be back!

Great food but don't give enough of it on the plate. Paid $14 for a plate and barely got macaroni and cheese on it.

Was feeling like some good liver and rice and oh my that's what I got plus more food was fresh and wait was less then 10 mins cant wait till i come back through def next week some time

Yes I've been to Lizard's Thicket and they have NOTHING on this spot. My only gripe is that they need more locations. Preferably in my home state!

One of the Best baked turkey wings out. Peach cobbler and all sides is perfection. Compliments to the chef and staff.

Nobody does turkey wings like Capital City Kitchen and Grill

My husband and I both got fried turkey wings,mac n cheese,and greens. Highly disappointed the turkey wings were so tough and dry.No seasoning at anything. The greens were kinda sweet and I think were canned greens. Overall this food is mediocor .The dirty rice and lemonade were the ONLY good thing.Waste of 37.00 we literally threw all the food away. This by far is not tasty southern food,it's basic .

Everything was exquisite no complaints there I recommend everyone to visit for a delicious meal.

If you can go elsewhere. The only place ive ever been where it takes 30+ for a philly and fries.

If you like country cooking... Come to Capital City Grill. The okra and tomato is truth.

I am moving to Columbia soon and I was hungry looking for a bite to eat cam across this place, I went on 5/15/2019 and had one of their specials the baked turkey wings,greens,and Mac n cheese. Everything was on point the protio. Size was more then enough! That was the last thing I ate for the day! What's even better is it reminded me of HOME , Pittsburgh PA/Philly area too! I'ma take my kids there and I definitely want to put them on my YouTube channel!

I ate here once about six months ago. Food was really good. Tried it again yesterday with my family and everything was excellent. They were polite, as usual, and quality of food was still as good as it was 6 months ago. I love that! Will definitely be back.

The first time eating here Thursday and I ordered meatloaf it was great I enjoyed food that taste like my cooking. Good portions for the price. The only thing I would do different is cut out more of the stems from the collard greens and cut them a little smaller but they was season great I enjoyed my meal.

Slow service unkind faces. No hospitality. Great food. Need better flow for service, serve bread or suggestions to customers and condiments. We don't know what comes with a meat and three sides. A thank for your service would be nice.

We was in Columbia for a concert Sunday. And my boyfriend wanted to visit this spot.
He visited in once before.
We had the best ever waitress name JUJU she was awesome.
Told us the best sauce for our fried wings. Yummy.
Told me i should try the fries broccoli with teriyaki sauce with ranch. Excellent. Let us sample the punch.
She was great. I love this establishment. Will definitely return when we come back to Columbia from Knox Tn.

Yes the food good and fresh place is clean the cashier lady is nice and respect . They move on Decker now .

Absolutely awesome! Everything is delicious! Great flavor, fried chicken moist, chicken liver cooked perfectly, collard greens, and Mac and cheese awesome, best part the corn bread and peach cobbler, omg we have a new place to go!

This place is awesome. I had the turkey wings with field peas, greens and rice and gravy. This is food like momma used to cook. I am sitting here full as a tick grinning like a chess cat. I will definitely be coming back early and often first this good soul food.

We ordered online and picked up at the window/door. The service was timely. I had the fried chicken meal with mac and cheese, cornbread, slaw and potato salad (in separate containers). Loved the chicken. It had just the right amount of seasoning. The skin was crunchy and not greasy. I also ordered strawberry shortcake. It was delicious, light and had the perfect amount of sweetness. I m giving 5 stars because I would go back.

Sweet potato pie is so good. Should have gotten another. My husband is picky and had the oxtails with cabbage, yams, and mac & cheese and is already talking about another plate. I love potato salad and theirs is good. Will be ordering Sunday dinner again!

fresh food and tastes just like it was made right at home. the portions are great for the price you pay. Definitely will be returning here. love the green apple lemonade too!!

My girlfriend and I tried their Sunday Soul Food event. Most of the food was delicious (although there were a couple that missed the mark - the mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes). The atmosphere of the restaurant was spacious with some pretty chill music playing. The manager came up to the table and asked us about our visit, she seemed very pleasant. Overall, it was a good experience. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to go back again, but if I was in the area and I wanted to eat out with some friends, I'd revisit.
Additionally: it was ~$17.50 after tax per person for the buffet for those wondering about pricing.

Rushed my food was cold and hard bis8hard as a brick best thing was my cake and iced tea dont like since they moved off two notch

I went there a few weeks and the food tasted different. It wasn't the best food I've had from there. The turkey wing was good, the gravy was nasty which is unusual.

Emmm yummy fried turkey legs and lady taking orders is fine
