Canterbury Pool/Splash Wave Pool, Ottawa Review

This is the best place ever to go swimming as a family, bring food with you and spend the whole day.

We had a great time just make sure ur kid stays with u or they threaten to kick him out. He's nine and an excellent swimmer so that was kind of weird in my opinion.

Great swimming place for with a baby. Public swim during the day is low cost and a very warm pool.

Pool is clean and well kept. Building is a bit old though. The lap pool is like the building - a bit dated. That means higher sides and narrow lanes. Convenience makes it good.

Change Rooms are very disgusting... need more keep up.

Nice pool for kids n family but facility is really old and needs to be updated specially changing rooms. Prepare to face chaos on weekends and struggle to find a changing room could take upto 15 mins. Really difficult if one is waiting with wet child after swim. Classes are bigger upto 10-11 kids.

It was really fun. My family had a great time in the wave pool.

Nice place, however lanes can get very busy after 7h30 pm, there is a hot tub and a area for young kid

Went here for a trip with my school. Overall the place is fine. There are 3 pools : a big one with waves, a smaller one for swimming and a little "piscine chaude" as they call it (hot pool). I was kinda disappointed because they stopped the waves each, like, 10 minutes. But at least there was a slide and we went there when the pool was off. Oh, and they really should include more closed toilets considering how big is the place. Not having to wait 1 hour to change clothes in some privacy would be fun.

Waves are fun, hot tubs are relaxing what more do you want?

This is a great place for kids and families. The pricing is reasonable - especially given the number of lifeguards on staff while the lane-swim pool, kiddie pool, water slide, and wave pool are all in operation. The kiddie pool is also heated and while I'd guess it's about 95'F or so, it's still not warm enough to sit in for an hour or two while your kid(s) play with the toy buckets in near the tiny kiddie slide in the kiddie pool or floating mats in the wave pool. It's also fantastic that for several hours per day, everyday, this place is open to the public for family swims (so many pools only have a few hours per week available to family swims).

Great place totake your children of all ages :) something for everyone here. Babies, toddlers, small and big children will enjoy the pool. Staff were very friendly and eager to help out with anything you may need to know about your adventure here.

Good place for a family swim if your into somewhat crowded spaces.

We had so much fun this Sunday, we stayed 2 hours in the pool !

It was not what I expected. I expected small waves arriving at regular intervals like you see at the beach. At the deeper end of the pool the waves were intense. My kids imagined the seas when the Titanic sunk. That said we all had a great time. Unless you are content with sitting in the shallow end, you should be a decent swimmer.

Great for families with small children. Brought our 6 month old and he had a great time.

Fun family activity, not too expensive to do but sometimes gets way too crowded. Great lifeguards.

A great location, as long as you do not mind the plethora of public swimming pool rules you must abide by.

This place is not bad. The company is a bit paranoid with the life guards they are around every corner it feels like they are watching your every move.

Ideal for swimming lessons with preschoolers because of warm pool and beach like pool with gradual slope.

Nice place for a swim. Waves are fun and you can get something to eat when you are done. The pool is clean and well kept.

They have vending machines in the pool area that they have no control over. If you get ripped off by it, you have to remember the phone number to call while all you are wearing is your swimsuit. The reception/management won t do ANYTHING for you. They also don t offer the canteen anymore. I won t be returning because of the lack of help offered when we got rolled by the machine. $2 is all it would have cost them not to be boycotted by are family

It's one of the original wave pool that we have in Ottawa. It has gone through some reno especially in the changing room. Locker little bigger and better quality. Beside That, life guards are nice and friendly. I come here with my students every Wednesday for their swimming lesson and they enjoy it very much. Great facility that host students with disabilities. Thank you.

There are 4 pools and a hot tub.
Lots to enjoy with family.

The changing room for families is large with lots of lockers and stalls.

The pools are all warm. The largest is a wave pool, but you have to check to see when it will be used, it isn't on for all swims.

The waves when on are not massive, and the bool jas a gentle beach like slope good for kids.

There is also a small cantine that serves hot food accessible from the pool deck.

There are lawn chairs around the pool deck for parents to relax on.

I will go back.

Nice swimming pool but only one section is for the waves, wished was a bit bigger or they dedicated a bigger pool for it. Plus there was no soap in the women's bathroom

This pool is great for families... and no one else. Their "hot tub" is just a lukewarm pool. The other pools are freezing cold.

Well, I have to say I was a bit disappointed. First of all, the change rooms are so narrow that nobody can pass by without disrupting other people...people who are changing! VERY awkward. The floors are slimy so bring flip-flops! Pool is nice but it would have been nicer had one of the staff told the teenagers that were in the kiddie pool to watch their language in front of the little ones...F bombs were flyin'...not cool when you're trying to enjoy family time. Maybe I'll try once more, maybe not.

Check before you go if the wave pool and slide are operating. We went on a school holiday and both were not on. And even the hot tub was closed because they did not have enough staff. Other than that, it's a nice place. There is also a lane pool.

The staff for the swim classes are great. But the building is old and the shower facilities need an update/ enlargement/ privacy options.

This is a great outing for kids on a rainy day. The price is reasonable. Changing facilities need a refresh, and there aren't enough bathrooms. Waiting for a family change room can take a long time on busy days. Otherwise, it's a fun outing overall.

Family change room is small but other then that nice pool. Good section for babies and small kids. Full size lane pool with a separate wave section. The indoor water slide is a great size.

Micky mouse run operation. Management is a joke and does not communicate with its employees. They don't respond to emails and you'll get a different story every time you speak to someone there.

Users often surprised when life guards are no-show(Sat morning) or classes cancelled, with a note on the door, the morning of.
In the morning, don't expect warm water in either shallow/deep pools, when clientele are mostly seniors-sorry, tech staff at Gabriels for breakfast
2 week shutdown of aquafitness at xmas not acceptable as many seniors depend on this facility for social and physical benefits

Nice touch, they covered the rotten locker-bottoms: covered, not repaired/replaced.
Not uncommon to have bandaids or plastic wrist-passes in the water, in the morning.
Like ALL Ottawa pools, the shower-before-swimming rule NEVER enforced.

One of the best (and cheapest) outings for young kids. A bit more expensive for the wave swim bit for older kids it would be fun.

Warm changerooms. Friendly staff. Wish the kitchen was still open.

Excellent wave pool with a separate waterslide for the kids. Very well maintained and very safe.
