I have been to Cannonsburg a couple times so far this season and its a pretty gnarly place to board. Keep in mind this place is a TERRAIN PARK. If you are coming here to do some mountain bombs or some glade riding, go elsewhere like caberfae, crystal mountain, boyne etc. This place seriously pushes the sport to the extreme. They have HUNDREDS of features from entry level boxes to expert stuff that I have yet to see someone hit. There is beginner kickers and monster jumps that launch you 30+ feet in the air. If you are trying to improve your park riding/jibbing there is no place better in the Midwest to go to. If your not into park you should avoid this place at all cost.
They have several runs most of which are short and flat when compared to resorts further up the mitten. I don't typically ride blacks, but here I will hit every run. I find that the regular runs are not crowded and the lift lines are short compared to other resorts I visit.
Where this place excels is in its terrain park and other snow shaping efforts. When snow is high (and stays) they will shape massive mounds to either jump or just take as miniature fast runs.
They have a tubing hill if some in your party are not up to standing while going downhill. During the summer they offer zip lines. I didn't attend, but my kids were big fans of the zip lines.
Great place for kids and familes. On site pro shop, quality rentals.
It was a great experience. And good quality family time
Very fun, good runs and really quick to get on the lifts. Entrance is incredibly busy Sunday around 4pm, so come a bit sooner or later than that.
Lots of fun, but a distance to get to from hastings and find out that registering and waivers were two separate forms. Could easily be combined.
Tubing was fun. 2 stars for the excessive "you need a mask". We are outside, it's a little overboard not to mention they wanted us to go get masks from the office. Super busy only 2 hour slots and I have to walk back to the office to get masks...ha what a joke.
While there was plenty of snow they only had 1 lift open servicing 2 runs. I got tired of doing the same 2 runs after an hour and asked for a refund and they would not. They also changed the area a lot for the worse including removing the boardercross track and adding tubing lanes to take up 1/3 of the hill. There are too many options in the area for me to consider coming back.
I was refunded a non-refundable ticket. It was appreciated and not required, but certainly the best thing to do for customer service. Our family also enjoyed the terrain park and the family atmosphere.
The people were nice BUT the driveway is really really really bad and could use some TLC.
This is a great place for skiing. There are multiple ski slope hills ranging from super easy to very difficult. The tubing is also a great fun activity with family and friends. You wouldn't want to miss it. overall a great place for a fun weekend day.
Place is tiny, equipped with SLOW lifts, you freeze before you reach the top, and you ski back down at a gravity pace of about 25 mph in only 30 seconds or so. Ridiculous after having been a Bittersweet skier for years. The restroom will choke you, so find an alternative place to "go". This place needs a serious amount of improvements, but really, how much can you do with a bump?
I wish this place cared about putting out a quality product for their customers but I understand why they don't. The parking lot is totally full even though there's one open chair lift and literally one skiable trail besides the Bunny Hill & terrain parks at this point.
they had three weeks of good snowmaking temperature in November that every other ski area in the state took advantage of but for some reason canonsburg doesn't even turn on their guns until mid-December and then they cry foul when there is a week of 40 degree temperatures that every other resort is able to weather because they've built enough base to survive marginal winter seasond in Michigan. they should be embarrassed by the quality of product they're putting out relative to every other ski area in a state and going into my 4th winter in the area, it's only gotten worse each year.
Resort staff and lessons are good the people are friendly, the food is hit-or-miss. But the overall ski area experience is severely lacking.
Today we contacted Cannonsburg to check the conditions and we were told that the conditions were GREAT. My son and daughter decided to go and arrived at the ski resort around 4:30 and bought a lift ticket.
I received a phone call around 5:15 from my children stating that the couple hills that were open were nothing but ice and they were not going to stay because of the extremely poor and dangerous conditions.
I contacted the manager in charge and requested that they refund my children there money. The manager was extremely rude and inconsiderate and refused to refund the money for the unused lift tickets.
I find it very hard to understand why upper management allows the extremely poor customer service and misleading information to customers.
Always enjoy spending time at Canonsburg. It's worth avoid the crowds and either going in the mornings or evenings. Bathrooms and lockers could use some much needed attention.
Terrible establishment. Everything from the lifts to the buildings are run down and dangerous. Everything is overpriced. The ownership is atrocious. Most employees have trouble getting their paychecks on time or at all. Go to bittersweet or crystal mountain for an actual skiing/snowboarding experience.
My buddies and I went today, and I just have to give a shout out to the guy working the double lift. Drew K, you are the best yet! So genuine and friendly with everyone, definitely made it a better experience all around. Thank you!
Lifts were kinda busy and just wanted to relax . Went to the cedar lounge was feeling a little down and sat at the bar
The ski conditions where in very well the time that i went. I was disappointed though in the condition of the lodge. The bathrooms are disgusting and could use some major renovations. Along with the entire lodge. The chair lifts are very old and slow. I would hope with the good winter we had this year they would be able to fix and improve some things.
The staff were very kind and helpful. The tubing price in my opinion is very resonable. My family and I had an amazing time. Cant wait to go back very soon!!
Nice staff and equipment, where it lacks is the quantity of the runs. It was a decent place
It was our first time there with the family tubing. Was concerned about the line but everything kept moving quick. Will be back.
I had so much fun!!! Definitely a fun outdoor place to go with the whole family. Will be going back there very soon. I have videos no pictures
Tubing was great fun, but pick your day wisely it can be very busy.
Tubing for the first time with my 7 year old son and mommy was the one having more fun. Must place to take the kids.
Great time tubing with family. Fun for a wide range of ages.
Awesome hills for tubing and a really good snowboarding jumps and ledges.
Always a great place to go thats local and reasonably priced.
We came with a large group on a Saturday evening and it wasn't to terrible busy on the tubing hill. For most of the night we weren't waiting at all before we got on the belt lift.
Awesome place in the summer for mountain biking. It's kid friendly too!
Not a lot of waiting, and the hills were fun. It was our first time and things were not very well marked on where to go. There are not any employees out helping. We got a late start because of this. I recommend going early.
Was great. Something for all ages and experiences levels
It was my first time trying skiing and I had a lot of fun here, after finishing the skiing we had hot chocolate at the snack bar and it was pretty good.
The staff was super fun & chill. They made it a good time & joked around with us. It was a great time all together!
Just amazing new park stuff every time I go and the crew is amazing
The zipline tour was awesome. The staff are very professional and the course was high quality and well maintained. Probably the safest zipline tour I have been to.
Good entry level lounge for teenagers to hang out. Safe and friendly atmosphere.
Good for beginners, fun terrain parks and tubing. Lifts are slow and shady. The condition of the parking lot is enough to to make me drive 2hrs north for a better option. Shouldn t need a 4x4 to find a parking spot!
Great family fun at an affordable price to take away the winter blues. We had a great time on the 4 tubing runs.
Great place, always a good time with friends and family.
Only open till 9. That alone gets 1 star. Hate you Cannonsburg. You know people don t want to drive 45 to an hour after work to ride. So you don t care. Just care a little cburg. Make it fun. BRING BACK PANDO!!!!
Nice little place to ski. Fun concerts in the summer and good biking.
Poor and unsafe conditions terrible customer service from lift ticket booth
My family and I had a terrible experience with the management staff. While making my purchase the ticket office explained to me how to get a groupon. I didn't want to hold up the line so they explained that I could go speak to the service area and they could adjust my purchase. Shortly after, I made the purchase on groupon and explained the situation to customer service. They asked me to mark my tickets as redeemed. She then realized I was looking for an adjustment to my original purchase. Management came out and explained that they couldn't make the adjustment based on how I purchased the groupon and accused me of fabricating the story to get a groupon price. They gave me vouchers for another visit. However, we out nearly $100. When I called to speak to management, they had all collaborated a story that wasn't a true depiction of the experience and refused to help refund my money. When asked to speak to the owner, they explained that he wouldn't speak to me and if I call again they will not forward my call.
Before driving 45 minutes to take my four kids tubing, I called and asked to check if the 42 inch requirement for the tubing hill was with or without boots on. The person on the phone assured me that it was with boots and a hat. We measured my son that was near the cutoff and he was clearly over 42 inches with his winter gear on. After driving 45 minutes and waiting in a 15 minute line, the attendant took one look at him and told us he wasn't tall enough. He wasn't even standing up straight. We were all very disappointed. My children cried most of the way home. We will be taking are business elsewhere, even when all of the kids are tall enough.
Really great location for snow sports. Tubing is a lot of fun in this place.
I love the place it's site there all Cindy of st of there
Had a good time skiing. You will most likely fall exiting off the middle ski lift.
Cannonsburg ski hill is a very nice area! I am happy that this summer they have put in "the sweet spot". It's a great place to take the kids and let them hike the trails and hills!
Well run. Garret was the lift operator on the double. He slowed it down for the kids each time and was very friendly.
The hill is well-kept and suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers/boarders. Good atmosphere in the lodge and bar. Reasonable ticket prices.
Hills and staff are fine. The bathrooms are small and uncomfortable to use, especially in ski boots. I've been to Cannonsburg 5 times, and 4 of the 5 times they only had two chairlifts going so we couldn't access all the hills.
I feel like it hasn't been upgraded in well over 15 years! We did the tubing hill with 'magic carpet' this time and the hill was much shorter than we expected as well as completely understaffed. We waited well over 40 min in a very small and disorganized space when it was busy just to slide down. Not worth the $20 for 3 hours IMO.
Positive: Very friendly and helpful staff! They were making the best out of the situation they were given.
Was just a Cannonsburg this weekend and they were slammed! Everybody had cabin fever and wanted to get out of their homes and they all went to Cannonsburg. Despite how busy it was we had a great time and I was totally impressed with the entire staff, from the guys directing traffic as at 10:30 A.M., the workers dealing with rentals, the kids busing and cleaning the tables off in the lodge, the ski instructors giving lessons to tons of kids and still acting like it was the most fun thing they could be doing, and even they guys working the magic carpet. They still kept working hard at their jobs, despite the craziness and did it with a smile! Love that place and so do my little ones and the staff is a big part of what makes it so great!
I went here for a summer GR symphony orchestra event. Was pleasantly surprised by the venue and amount of people. Good event.
Not a bad place to spend an afternoon. Obstacle park is beginner level, not much vertical, slightly overpriced. Lodge is out of date. All in all an OK experience. Biggest thing it has going for it, is that it is close to Grand Rapids and the beer is cold.
So much charm. Everything is well priced, and exceptional quality.
Went here for tubing with some friends, and the hill was awesome! Very fun experience and only $15 per person! We stayed for almost a full 3 hours and got to go through many times, they have a great area for skiing and snowboarding and all of the employees we interacted with were very helpful and friendly.
*Tubing trip only* Definitely something I had to do at least once also something I'll never have to do again.
We managed 2 out of the 3 hours and it started to get overcrowded. The waiting area at the top is unorganized with people standing everywhere. At 1 time we had 6 rows of people waiting with only 4 sliding lanes. Two employees at the top trying to manage 4 lanes apologizing that the other employees are late. The two employees that started us off were excellent having fun and making it fun.
Ended up we would be able to make 2 trips down every 50 minutes.
I thought the hill was going to be much larger although it was still long enough to make it fun but not long enough to make was want to stay in line or go back. And the unorganized overcrowded waiting area at the top was a buzz kill.
Brought my nephew here to try out the zip line. He was nervous, but overall had a good time! The staff was great!
It was not my first zip line, but it had been a long while since. I thought the ladders at the end of every line was a bit unique, and seemed unusual but they were necessary to exit each line. I would only go again if one of my little nephew/ nieces would want to go. Not really recommend for an adult group outing like I had considered in the past.
My fam and I (5 total) went tubing on 2/21/21 3:30 - 5:30 and ordered our passes online. The tubing area was very busy and unorganized. The employees were all sitting and not helping move people through. We paid over $120 to go down the hill 6 times within our 2 hour allotment. It was fun and my kids enjoyed it, but to me it was not worth the price having to wait in line for so long. My wife and I left pretty disappointed. We will not be going back.
Worst experience to date. Every time I've been tubing its been great but when it came to the snowboarding it was terrible. There was zero snow. It was all just ice frozen over from the day before with more clumps of ice all over. With that also the employees were extremely rude. I was first ignored when trying to purchase a rental and the employees (ahem the teenage boys who think they're all that) wouldn't help with anything. The only decent employee was a new girl starting in the back rental area. Secondly I was constantly bombarded by another male employee who insisted I wear a mask the entire time I was outside. Inside is totally understandable but when there's markers indicating social distancing on the belts and its a slow morning, it becomes excessive. The closet person that wasn't in my party was always a good 10 feet away, at the very least. I'm very displeased with this experience considering I've always had such great company with me and a great time overall. In total, I believe this to be the worst experience I've had thus far and I hope that for the future visitors their experience is better than mine. I will not be returning.
Great slopes with different levels of adversity depending on what stage your at. Try to advoid holday cause they will be packed. At cannonsberg there are 2 lifts, and 2 rope lifts.
Cool place! Blake and Alec are the coolest ziplinging dudes ever! Super chill guys They make the place a lot of fun
Convenient location just north of GR, has a terrain park and tubing, and has the best Sunday deal in the West Michigan area.
