Candlelight Dinner Playhouse Review

The play was really good. The food was average. For the money we spent it was a great experience for our family.

Love this place, the food is the best we've had at a dinner theatre & the shows just keep getting better!

Always alor fun to go to a dinner theater, the crew puts on a great performance, and good quality food.

I always have the best time here and I'm blown away by this hidden treasure. I've been to live theaters in NYC, Denver and San Francisco and this place is the best with the best talent. Love it

I absolutely loved it. The servers were extremely friendly, the food was delicious, and the show was amazing!!! I would recommend this place to everyone!

Balcony seats are very uncomfortable. Food and service are ok...45 min for first drink, second drink at intermission; no water refills. The play was cute though.

The musical Jekyll & Hyde at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse is absolutely Broadway-quality! I attended the Sunday matinee performance today and would see it again. Beginning with a great meal served by the Actors and staff, the time came for the performance to begin. And what a performance! The talent was amazing, and the voices, orchestra, directing, set design, lighting and sound were altogether flawless. The lead Actor, Scott Hurst, Jr, played the characters of Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde. His voice and vocal range blew me away, especially in the Confrontational scene. Depicting the tumultuous battle between good and evil and switching back and forth vocally between characters was simply phenomenal. I had seen Scott in the performance of The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Candlelight last year. His acting and vocal delivery then was incredible. Casting him in Jekyll & Hyde was brilliant. While special appreciation go out to Scott for sharing his gifts, the same goes for every one of the actors in this performance. I feel fortunate having top-rated theater productions and quality performers available in NOCO. Candlelight is a beautiful venue and definitely an asset to our community.

Better than expected regional theater with good quality cast and production values. Substandard food, even by dinner theater standards.

a mentor said they went here, and hated it. i completely disagree. the portions of the wonderful food were filling, but not stuffing, and the staff/actors were very nice. the set, music, and singing were all amazing and enjoyable. thank you candlelight dinner playhouse! well done!

I have never been to a dinner theater before, we went there for my father's 90th birthday. And had an excellent time a very good meal. The show was great.

Great experience. Just loved it. Family time or date night. Tickets were about $60.00 comes with a great dinner or you can up grade to different plates for a small charge. Wonderful and Beauty and the Beast was a great show. Can't wait for the next one.

Saw Beauty and the Beast along with other shows in the past. They do a good job. Boy the actors really do work their tails off...very impressive. For sure go back.

This place is the best! Family friendly, great food, and the shows are always amazing.

Good food & entertainment. The Bad, ordered appetizer, came after our meal. Ordered extras, had a 46.00 bill, paid with a $100.00, had to ask manager lady for our change. Waiter assumed it was his to keep. Next time pay with a card not cash.

Saw Jekyll and Hyde. Great show. Food is pretty good. Wait time between dinner and show a little long. Seating uncomfortable for as long as you are there between dinner and the show. Servers are always friendly and do a great job.

A very fun and entertaining experience. The food and service was great and the show (The Holiday Inn) was fantastic. The actors are very talented.

Everytime I go, the experience is wonderful . Great people and great food. I've seen Newsies and Into the woods here, and the productions were amazing. Will be coming back.

I went to get tickets. A little bit of a wait but the shows are worth that time spent. They ran a good special and I went ahead and booked my dates right away. The meals are ok, the staff and crews are nice and professional.

My whole family loves Candlelight Playhouse theater tonight we saw the Newsies great show my grandson's were thorally enthralled with the show. Afterwards we took pictures with the actors.

Such a wonderful venue. Tucked off the I-25 frontage road, Candlelight provides a great opportunity to have a enjoyable evening with your lover or friends. Delicious food and the play productions are performed well.

Excellent dinner & service....But the Musical was just Amazing!!! Lovely voices from everyone. Can't wait for a new show!!!

Excellent food, excellent service, great production

I was not expecting much but was I pleasantly surprised! I'm obsessed now and want to see every show that comes out. My daughters got autographs and took photos because since it is a small venue you can get up close and personal with all the actors. I also was not expecting the food to taste that well and my saffron chicken dish with vegetables and rice was delicious. Totally recommend

The entertainment was awesome, these actresses for Nunsense were phenomenal. The food wasn't great, it kind of tasted like a tv dinner. But the wine was good. The dessert was good. Overall I enjoyed my evening.

Nice playhouse. Just don't recommend the balcony seating because the view can be really poor.

We've been here a few times, and have loved the productions. The acting and music are great, and it's fun to be served by the actors. The food is average; if it were a restaurant I wouldn't go back, but the food is just an extra to the great plays and musicals we've seen.

We always have a great time. Motioned be Jersey Boys was pure fun and entertainment! Friendly staff always!

The entertainment was good. The portion sizes for the meal are small especially the soup. Not worth up grading the meal. The servers can take a few to recognize your needs at the table. Not worth the money spent on the ticket. I would pay 20.00 for the ticket but no more. Over priced for what you get.

Just arrived home after a Valentines day evening at the dinner playhouse. The venue is modern, well maintained, and visually impressive.
This evening was billed as a special Valentine's day event. The 'special' event, beyond a normal evening at the playhouse was a complimentary glass of champagne or sparkling cider, customer choice.
Our meal choices were the only vegetarian offering, a stuffed pepper, and the prime rib at $16 extra dollars. The prime rib was cooked as requested and was good. The stuffed pepper was actually only a stuffed small half of a pepper. It was somewhat dry and was overall quite mediocre. The salad was fresh and was served with a blue cheese dressing apparently mass produced by a food service source. It was simply a blue cheese flavored, creamy dressing. The rolls were, likewise, food service grade and were generally dense and lacking in flavor. We ordered the chocolate fondue desert plate. The fruits were fresh but the chocolate was not very warm and was just average in flavor. The coffee was hot and of good flavor.
The show was Forever Plaid. The cast is four harmony singers performing a number of classic and well known songs. The performances were average at best. Nearly every song had several to numerous sections with one or more of the group significantly off key. Overall, the displayed talent level was reminiscent of an average high school talent/variety show. We have attended several shows here over the last 9 years. Some were pretty good, some like this one, were disappointing. An evening for two with a price tag of about $150 should be much more enjoyable.

Good food and great entertainment. They do musicals and concert series.

This is the second time I have gone to the Candlelight Dinner Theater. We thoroughly enjoyed the show. Actors were superb! However, the food was a big disappointment! We had the pork tenderloin with the potato salad. The tenderloin was dry and very tough. The potato salad was overly tangy with vinegar and was not good. We had the oatmeal bread pudding for dessert and it was mediocre. Not sure that we will be returning for the dinner portion again. We were told the cost of the meal was 1/3rd the cost of our ticket and we should base the gratuity on this amount plus extra for the cost of the dessert and appetizer. The meal was figured at $17, dessert at $9.50 and the appetizer was $10. For $35 we should have had a better meal.

We love going here! A true gem of northern Colorado. The actors are superb, the food is delightful, and the theater is amazing.

It was my first visit there, and the play was great, the food was good, and a fantastic layout for a dinner theater.

Saw Hunchback of Notre Dame here the other night, and once again it was an awesome performance and good food themed to the show. Another difficult show to pull off well, and they did a phenomenal job. Looking forward to Holiday Inn next!

Awesome and lots of fun with good food! Went to see Mary Poppins and was very impressed with the performance - this is not an easy show to pull off. Also really liked that they don t crowd the tables so much that you re on top of your neighbors, nor do they harass you for tips like some venues. Service is excellent and the menu changes for each performance to fit the theme. Also the food is actually good - this really was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend and definitely coming back.

It was an amazing show with Amazing actors and actresses. It had wonderful singing and enchanting acting for "Oliver". I do wish that with the payments that next time the waiters and waitresses stay organized. We paid for everything and were accused of not paying our bill but did. Otherwise great job and great show.

Overall fabulous, had a great time the play was exceptional,the acting top notch, everyone was was very accommodating and courteous. The only negative would be the food just so so.

Great out of the way dinner theater. No bad seat really. I had Shepard pie and it was delicious and filling. Desert was apple crisp and ice cream. Staff are the actors and really make an effort to make sure you get what you would expect for a night out. Can't wait for the next show!

My wife, son, and I were so excited to see Scrooge at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse this Christmas. It was an honor to watch such a magnificent production of this classic. The performance was flawless, the dining experience, exceptional, and the memories we will carry for a lifetime, priceless. Thank you to every single person who worked so hard to bring tremendous joy to my family.

There's always a quality production at Candlelight, and the food and drinks are better than you'd expect.

Food was really good, show was phenomenal. J&H is one of my favorite musicals so I couldn't pass up a chance to see it live, and it did not dissapoint.

So fun! Tarzan character wasn't realistic, but the rest of the cast was great. Also, the orchestra was drowning out the dialogue. But the show was fun, and the food was very good! Thanks!

I act for Colorado Candlelight, and I just have to say, the community is amazing.

Would also recommend the workshops for teens -
recently was in Guys and Dolls and they do teach you a lot. They bring in 'masters' to teach 'master classes' about certain skills (ex. Accents, stage makeup, hat tricks, improv, etc.). It's a great way to learn acting and speaking skills and have fun.

Really a great place. If you want to support the local theatre talent and community, come see the shows here and enroll your kids in their workshop programs.
