This is a great zoo - get there early to avoid the crowds and hit the aquarium before the line builds.

Hadnt visited for a few years. Wow! Its grown enormously and provides hours of things to do and see. Excellent!!
So far this is the best zoo I've visited in Australia but on the day I was there, despite the efforts of the staff, the public had zero respect for social distancing. It seems that people think they don't need to practice it anymore.
Potential to be a great zoo. More talks and general activities would make it even better.
Great place to take the little ones and spend 3 hours walking around seeing the animals only to be told that they would rather spend their time playing on the car ride at the entrance. 10/10 for the animals, 0/10 for having to keep going back to that bloody car ride.
Great place for kids. Has a playground and bistro half way around
The zoo is a very nice place and the admission ticket value is $ 47 per person
A nice place to be during the school holidays, good variety of animals and the zoo is easy to navigate. Ticket price is towards the high end though
This is an average zoo, have enough things for one time visit. However for the time i was there , my kids enjoyed. The cost is high for what we have.
Really good zoo. Very clean and we'll maintained. All animals seemed happy
Loved it from the start to the Finnish, great zoo, recommended for the family. Good day out.
So many awesome animals especially loved patting the Meerkats
It is a well-designed and pleasant Zoo. But it is pretty small in scale. Nothing really wrong with It, and the dining option are great. Just somewhat smaller then most expect. Has a great lodge accommodation option and provides a number of live animal encounters. .
A magical place to get lost amongst the many wonder animals, presented in as natural a way as possible. We travelled from Melbourne to visit and will definitely come again. The staff a very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. A stay in one of the Jamala accommodations is highly recommended as there is nothing quite like have the zoo almost entirely to yourself after the crowds have left.
Really beautiful time here! Felt like the only two people there as it was very hot and nobody else was around. Got to experience so many different animals that aren't seen around in other Australian zoos, all up close and personal. Would definitely visit again!
More and more enclosures are opening: the owners have a real vision for the zoo.
I visited with my family and friends in January as we had been before and loved it.
The Zoo is so much bigger ane has so much more Now. Definitely worth the drive from Sydney
Well laid out zoo with lots of space for the animals
Awesome. Really large park and plenty to keep the kids occupied. We had a ball. Great staff and friendly atmosphere and reasonably priced
Great experience with our excellent tour guide Isabelle. She was absolutely amazing with everyone and everything we did. She even went that little bit further to accommodate all on the tour. Just amazing!
A very kid friendly zoo, clean facilities and a very good spread of animals (and a logical layout, directions etc.)
Would happily visit again, runs circles around the Dubbo/Great Plains Zoo.
A place to take the family. Well laid out. Clean and the are well cared
Great little zoo, nice location, easy to get around.
very clean, the enclosures are larger then they should be for the animals benefit. The zoo team seems to care very much about the welfare for their animals.
What a fantastic zoo! Well landscaped, plenty of room. The enclosures look spacious and well thought out. Heaps of picnic tables and places to have breaks along the way.
Like most zoos there is a lot of walking and for those older visitors there are electric scooters to hire to get around. Great idea.
It's a zoo. Of course it's fun. Best time for the young ones. Lots to do and see
An average zoo at best - way overpriced for what it is.
You get to feed some of the animals inside, like lion, sun bear etc. Some of the animals are not in the cage, so you would get to meet peacock, and some visiting birds on the way. The tree kangaroo here is pretty friendly, you can pet them.
Great place to visit and it's a lot bigger then you think. Had a great time out there..
Great set up and plenty to do for the whole family. Seem very invested in making the animals and their habitats as good as they can be
Staff were lovely, animals cute and so much space for them to run around. Great for kids and families, has the best playground for the kids. I was surprised how affordable everything was once inside the zoo, which is rare. Will definitely go again.
This is possibly the best zoo that we have ever visited. The property was really well set out, and the animal enclosures, which were so well designed for the animals, allowed fantastic viewing. The facilities are fantastic and the kids playground was a huge hit. I can't recommend this zoo highly enough, you really have to visit, you won't be disappointed.
Close up and unhindered views of animals. Open spaces too.
This is a hidden gem in Canberra. I think this must be the best small zoo in the world.
They have really good animals so says my 6 year old Granddaughter. I love the Penguins
Good collection of animals.. in quite friendly environment..
Liked the aquarium. Zoo it fine but all the same see before should have split it so you can see all or just one or other .price fair enough ($80 couple pension)
I was there to meet a Cheetah and I was expecting to be able to cuddle up to it like in the posters throughout the Zoo but couldn't, I felt mislead by the Advertising! All I did was stand behind & look at it eat!
Wow, what a brilliant time. Stayed in the Wild Life Encounter Sweet, very clean, roomy and had the meerkats right outside our door. F fantastic facilities, great and plentiful food. Staff were excellent with service and knowledge. Guides were fantastic.. will definitely come back. Well worth the money with some of it going directly to conservation.
They've made some pretty big improvemens since my last visit 7ish years ago. Kids loved it. Keep up the good work! :)
You should only visit in a cool part of the day. When it is too hot, half of animals are going to be hiding...
My little boy had a blast here...there's an area with emu's & roo's walking around freely - he tried to ride a emu when it sat down
the size of zoo was very manageable with my 2 little kids. The cafe near entry was also reasonably priced. Only wished the staff would have informed us to book the feeding and encounter with animals at the entry, so we would not miss the opportunity for kids to have a better unforgettable experience.
Awsm zoo! Loved the long adventure trail and following the numbers along the track. Tigers, Cheetahs and Sun Bears were very cool! Holding a python was a great experience!
Excellent laid out zoo...with a well defined (numbered) walking trail to follow so you didn't miss anything on your visit.
Took the grandkids there and to be perfectly honest I think the place has gone down hill since the last visit 2 years ago. Although there are some newer areas open, many of the exhibits look a bit scrappy. The grounds could do with some attention as there are some rather high trip hazards on some of the older concrete paths and some of the timber hand rails are rotting away. They also need to sort out the service in the Rhino Bistro. One person serving and 3 others standing around while people waiting to buy food and drinks is not a good look. Let's hope that the next visit in another 2 years will result in a more positive review.
Fantastic experience clean and beautiful zoo with fabulous amenities. Don't miss it
They have endeavoured to maintain a wide range of animals species, from across the world, which are all presented in an appealing manner mimicking their natural ambiences.
An amazing experience! Both my younger children enjoyed looking at all the animals aswell as mum and dad got to enjoy the beautiful new cafe, definately going to go again soon!! :D
A membership tickets worth it for everyone. Visit them in the early morning would be recommended. Great place to come visit on the weekends. There are heaps of space to picnic and relax with your family. The Rhino Cafe also has a discount for the zoo membership. New playground has plenty space for all children.
I would suggest that they need more toilet around the zoo.
Loved it my 2 young boys loved it as well well worth the money. So much variety of animals
A great family day out. The zoo is very well maintained and clean. Easy to navigate but a long walk especially with young kids. Plenty of places to stop along the way for a sit down- most have picnic tables and are shaded. A range of different animals to see with keeper talks throughout the day. There is an excellent play space next to the rhino cafe with swings, slides, bridges and tunnels for the kids to run wild. Tickets were affordable- worth noting
children under 3 enter for just $1. Adequate parking with a main car park and overflow.
It's a great zoo for kids with petting areas and it also has a pretty big fishtank.
First class five star
Accommodation, food,staff
Fantastic experience. Will definitely go back.
I was very impressed by this place. Great layout, very well kept exhibits and good variety of animals from all around the world. Our kids loved the brand new playground area (Mar '19). Two large cafes on site with all the usual fare. They also have intriguing looking hotel rooms that you can stay in, each one looking over a different animal exhibit... Sip champagne on your balcony and have a visit from a giraffe... Awesome!
Would happily visit again.
Great for kids, being a member is absolutely worth the cost
Well cared for animals in good sized enclosures. Aquarium could be improved a lot. On the pricey side for what was there.
It was really enjoyable loved seeing all the animals with my granddaughter
Loved every minute of it ..... everyone do your self a favour and go , It's something that is just amazing.
Less animals than expected. 12/10 want to pet the ones they do have.
A great place for kids and dont forget the large playground up near the back entry.
Great zoo. Probably loose the aquarium in the main title.
