Terrible employees, a real jerk of a general manager who seems to be as dumb and lazy as they get. They push you to buy what THEY want to sell, NOT what YOU want. Avoid at all costs!
On a side note the their pricing structure is flawed, they say you get the best price up front but that's not true. I throughly looked up pricing on cars and they are more expensive than other dealers that are around.

Two years ago I purchased a new vehicle from Canadaigua CDJR and always have it serviced there. In forty plus years of driving, this has been the most pleasant experience with a dealership ever. The sale, service and parts transactions are always straight forward and stress free. A great group of people, excellent customer service and accommodating. Looking forward to my next visit.
Jed was great to work with I highly recommend him as a salesman. Betty in service was also very accommodating with my hectic schedule!! Great communication on both ends.
The sales people at this dealership are top notch. I was not pushed into any sales or anything, I took a nice cruise around town in the car and the salesman, Geoff Case, explained all the ins and outs of the car and really amazed me. I drove an hour out of town to see the car and it was clean and ready to go when I got there. I talked over some financing with the gentleman and was able to get the perfect car at a great price. Would recommend to all, and already have some family looking into it as well.
These con artists tried to charge me $1200 to replace a Radiator that cost $120...online it says this job would typically take 3 hours, and should cost between $300-$500...on a wrangler rubicon that I bought off em for $50k in 2015....I was in market for a new vehicle....no more business with these clowns
Bought a vehicle here and liked the service at first. Come to find out the promises that were made for service on the vehicle were a lie. We also purchased an extended warranty but later found out could only be used at a Chrysler dealership. Make sure you get everything in writing before the purchase if you choose this dealership.
I had been shopping for used Wranglers for less than a month. Canandaigua Jeep had the model that met all my criteria: Black / Hardtop / Standard Trans / Low Miles. I met Devan Farnes in the parking lot and he showed me the vehicle. He got the keys and a plate and within 10 minutes I was test driving.
The test drive was very pleasant and productive. Devan was quite informative about the vehicle as he showed me all the features. Overall the test drive was an enjoyable experience because it was a very relaxed, low pressure setting.
My wife and I had purchased 3 other vehicles from this dealer since 1999 and had a positive overall experience each time. So, after getting my wife's blessings I decided to make the purchase!
We took care of the paperwork that afternoon and I picked up my Wrangler the following day. I was pleased with the financing obtained and would have to say that I actually enjoyed the buying experience. I have been back to the dealer once for a covered service issue with a tire pressure sensor and was back out the door before finishing my cup of coffee!
Devan was a pleasure to work with and I wish him continued success in the future!
I purchased a 2014 Jeep Cherokee latitude a couple of weeks ago and don't regret it. I got a good price on my trade in plus a good rebate. So, how can you go wrong? Brian, my salesman, was very helpful and very informative. As a matter of fact, all of the sales personnel were very friendly and made you feel welcomed. I took it for a test drive and it felt comfortable and the right fit for me. When it came time to sign the papers, everything was explained with detail and all of my questions were answered to my satisfaction.
Not impressed at all :( Told me they had a car I was interested in for 35 grand. Get there and the car I wanted was all of a sudden 42 grand. What a waste of time.
Salesman was nice, but wanted a copy of my drivers license to look at a vehicle that I was interested in buying, not to test drive it, just to look at it (not interested in financing so no reason to run a credit check)... When I refused he said that they "couldn't go any further without the copy of my license". I can see wanting it if I was actually going to test drive it, but just to take a look at a car and see if it had what I wanted? How do you spell invitation for identity theft?
Do not recommend. If you're in the market for a used vehicle, this is not where I would shop. Be sure to thoroughly check any vehicle you purchase from here. Since they Legally don't have to tell you about hail damage. Take your vehicle to a well lit area and double check it. It's sad to see where the moral compass points. Strictly for profit, not for customer satisfaction.
Shady, shady people, whose records are clearly wrong, since I was there in 2018 to buy another Jeep, only to find out 3 days after we struck the deal on the Jeep that they were working on getting me financed for a Chrysler Pacifica. Um, what? No. To make matters worse, I was never contacted to be informed of this. I and my husband called the place 14 times and left messages with no returned phone calls because we needed to schedule the time to pick up the Jeep that I purchased. It was only after I threatened legal action that I FINALLY got through to someone and they then informed me that they were switching vehicles on me. 2013 was the last purchase I made there. 2018 was the year I was duped by shady people and they lost my business. Put that in your records.
Dealer sold me a clapped lemon Wrx was told it was previously owned by an older person but that was a total lie when the electrical started to act out and grounded out somewhere causing the radio to no longer work. Then I reported 2 problems to them and did not get a call until the 3rd attemp explaining my frustration. All this for nothing because when they took the car in for service they told me If was my fault that the wires behind the radio were all messed up and that they can t do anything because I got the car As-Is and it was working fine for them when it was in their possession. My salesman was really nice and understanding but I will never buy another car from here after all of this. Unfortunate because I had a few friends and family members who were going to buy New cars from here.
I was flying from Seattle to buy a car from them. Tyler Liberty was helping me with all the buying process, he even met me at the airport. Easy, fast and pleasant. I can recommend Tyler as a professional and friendly sales person. The car was exactly as described in the ad.
I really regret not buying a car from these guys. We worked with Eric when we first started thinking about buying our Pacifica Hybrid. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the van, clearly understood the ins and outs of the rebates and tax incentives and just all around nice to talk to. We ended up buying our van from a dealership closer to home that is much more difficult to work with and we have been kicking ourselves ever since. If we buy another Chrysler, there is no doubt we will buy it from Canandaigua.
Sales manager took advantage of my son leasing his 1st truck. Told him exactly what he wanted to hear without giving him all the information he needed. After they took his trade in, swapped plates, & signed we were informed the payment was $30 more a month than agreed and 6k less on allowed mileage. The sales team will be your best friend...at least until you sign, at which point, they won't do jack for ya. The only advice I can give if you're dumb enough to do business here, don't let them rush you into a same day spot delivery.
Great customer service. Prompt and courteous employees. Service work was completed sooner than anticipated. Only drawback is they don't provide a loaner unless you bought your vehicle fro.
I have been dealing with Canandaigua Chrysler for almost 10 years. Great, low stress deals on two new cars and efficient and fair with service work. I expect to maintain my relationship next year when it's time for a new vehicle.
I started getting robo calls from this dealership. I called and asked them to stop. I was told I would be taken off the list. If they are true to their word and I do not get any solicitation calls over the next year I will take down the poor review.
I recently purchased a new Jeep from Canandaigua Chrysler Dodge Jeep. I have nothing but good things to say about this dealership. My salesman was Devon Farnes. Devon is one of the best salesmen that I have dealt with. right from the start, he was great about listening to me and learning what works for me and remembered every detail. In the end I got the Jeep that I wanted with the options that I desired and kept it in the financial range that fit my situation. the Jeep was ordered and I received it before the date they promised it by. I am very pleased.
DO NOT LET THEM RUN YOUR CREDIT!!!!! My parents and I were in the market for a car for myself. After explaining to the salesperson what our budget was and what we could afford to pay each month for the car, they wanted to do a credit check. So with my dad as a co-signer, we tried to see if we could be approved. When beginning this process, I had a credit score of around 680. They ran my credit so far seven times (the credit denial letters are still coming well over a week later). My credit score has been dropped nearly 50 points. This has been the only recent change in anything to do with my credit, since I pay my bills on time. As a recent college grad, I've worked very hard to get my credit to the point where it was. I honestly am starting to think (especially after reading some of these other reviews) that they maliciously ran my credit over and over and multiple times to the same companies because we decided not to purchase a vehicle from them. I guess I learned my lesson the hard way :(
The guys at Canandaigua Chrysler are top notch! Jed and Kyle are fantastic guys. I will definitely recommend family and friends to get their next vehicle from them.
We have great history with the old owners. I don't know what happened when the new owners came in, but I haven't gotten this bad of an experience from a dealer. Brought in my '08 Charger for a transmission diagnostic, and the parts were set to arrive on a Tuesday and I had an estimated finish date for Friday. Wasn't done Friday so we called and asked what was up. Front receptionist girl rambled on about inspections and other nonsense when all we wanted was a diagnostic and replaced parts. Had no idea what she was talking about and just told us it wouldn't be ready yet, and that it would be ready on Monday over the weekend. We had a total price for the cost of the parts, the diagnostics and the servicing was roughly $650, on an invoice. Monday comes and we didn't get a call so we stopped by- turns out we weren't notified that the mechanic working on it wasn't in the day we were told it would be done, and we'd have to wait longer. It was finally done Wednesday, and lo and behold, our invoice MAGICALLY jumped up a solid $500 from our original invoice when nothing was added or changed, averaging a total around a grand. Owners and sales manager had no idea and just remarked it was "servicing fees" when the servicing fees were already listed in the original first invoice, with the worst attitude. Keeping a copy of both invoices for later. Absolutely unbelievable.
Eric went out of his way to understand where I was coming from and what I wanted in a Wrangler. We discussed finding a JK vs ordering a JL and what Canandaigua Jeep could offer. He took that info and found exactly what I was looking for. Within a week, the Wrangler was on-site and ready for delivery. Eric wasn't in when I was able to pick it up, so Jed made sure everything was ready to go, even staying late to finish everything up. Outstanding customer service from everyone involved and I couldn't be happier with the result!
Sometimes things go wrong, for example losing the Wrangler I put a deposit down on. I don't blame the salesman at all. But I don't enjoy the poor customer service that happened after that. I requested a call from the owner twice, no response and it took a week to get my deposit back. I asked the salesman to continue looking for a wrangler and have not heard back from him since that day. I was forced to move on, I have purchased two wranglers from that location (under the old owners) and I guess I expected too much from the new owners.
Walked in wanting to look at a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, left owning it. The best experience I have ever had buying a vehicle. Tyler and the entire team (from Sales to Parts to Service. I dealt with them all) were excellent! I honestly can't give them enough praise.
If your in the market for a Jeep/Dodge... take the drive to Canandaigua.
I got there a skeptic, I left a new loyal customer.
They were great on the sales end but, they dealer traded my 2019 Ram 1500 and the 1st dealer installed non OEM wheel locks. The problem is, no wheel key was sent. Contacted my sales rep July 9th, today is August 10th, 1 month and still no resolution. I also emailed the president a week ago with no response. If I get a flat tire there is no way to remove the tire without possibly damaging it. Not happy with the after sale.
This review is for Canandaigua Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. I ll start of first with the fact that my younger brother bought his 2012 ram express here my uncle ordered his 2017 ram longhorn here and I had bought a used Chevy impala from them I also just sent a friend of mine there to buy a 2018 Jeep Wrangler.....With that being said I was in the market for a new truck so I purchased a NEW 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Big Horn at the price of 49,230 dollars...as you can see between me, my family, and friends we have spent a lot of money here
This is what my experience was when buying my very FIRST new vehicle
It started with the sun visor lights on the passenger side, they were not working keep in mind this is a new truck with 80 miles on it so the salesman (Dave Race) texted me and said he would get that fixed so I texted him back and said while your at it can you also please put side steps and NO DRILL mud flaps on it he said sure let me see if we have them in stock a few hours later he texted back and said I have them....so I texted him back and said okay put them on...no drilling right then he said CORRECT
Then my pickup day came on April 23 2019 and I get the truck home and I m checking it over and I see that the technician that fixed the sun visor got his or her greasy had prints all over the head liner I had to learn to get over that but about 2 months later my brother who now has the exact same truck as me purchased those same NO DRILL mud flaps that I have so I put them on his truck for him and I noticed that my mud flaps have a few more bolts on them so I pulled them off and sure enough the moron drilled the mud flaps on my 50,000 dollar truck, the drilling even bent the sheet metal and cracked the paint and boy was I furious because rust was already started and it looked like a monkey drilled the holes because they were so off center (a total of 6 holes were drilled) at this point the truck has about 800 miles on it (hasn t seen salty roads yet) the next day I called the service manager Matt and he said he would call me back but never did so I drove down there to show him and he said that I can try and warranty the 2 front fenders let me get back to you the next day and sure enough I had to call him back the next day because Matt must not know how to use a phone then he turned completely rude and unprofessional towards me about the situation, he seemed to think it wasn t a big deal HOW CAN YOU TRUST A DEALER THAT CANT EVEN PUT NO DRILL MUD FLAPS ON I will never be going back and I will tell everyone I know including my family and friends to never go there because this just goes to show you that this dealership doesn t care about you or your vehicle
So please keep this review in your thoughts when considering a new or used vehicle.... I would go elsewhere
My family has done business with this run down dealer for nearly 2 decades. After my Silverado broke down, even though it was still under warranty, I decided it was time to buy a ram 2500 Cummins. I originally spoke to the salesman Joe who proceeded to offer me 12,000 for my trade in, which according to KBB in OK shape is worth 17k to 20k. I then spoke to Matt Yeskey, who has sold my family vehicles for two decades and he said the best they could offer was 14k. I decided to take my business elsewhere, sight unseen another chrysler dealer offered me 18,500 for my Silverado, and I am now the proud owner of a brand new Ram 2500 Crew Cab with a Cummins motor. The moral of this story, is that the offers they will give you are as good as the building they use. Run down, dumpy and terrible. Take the time, drive 20 more minutes to the next Chrysler dealer. You will get better service, a better deal and work with awesome people. Even after buying vehicles here for 2 decades, they still wont want to work with you, What does this say about a new customer that walks into the shed they refer to as a 'showroom'. In case everyone is wondering, I bought the same truck they had on there lot except with more options, added a remote start, mudflaps, a tonneau cover, 7 year 125k mile maximum care Chrysler warranty, and paid about $6000 dollars less than these scam artists were trying to get me to pay. Go elsewhere, be happier and save money!
Excellent experience with the entire place. From the people in sales, to the follow through in service, I am more than happy. I will be referring everyone I can.
We purchased a 2016 Jeep Cherokee sport with under 14k for mileage almost 2 yrs ago. Over the past 8 months we have had 3 ignition coils fail. All on different cylinders. The first failure in June of 2018 was covered under NYS emissions warranty being under 50k for mileage. The second failure in October of 2018 not covered under warranty and cost was $240.25, that s after the 10% discount that they advertised and we had to remind them of that and have that deducted. So you might think that s not that horrible. But breakdown of the work is labor amount $186.00 took literally 10 min to swap out, $61.92 for the OEM part. Ignition coil # 3 failed today called and spoke to Amanda first and she commented, oh yes this is a common problem. Then I asked to speak to Betsy the service manager who did very little to want to make their customer feel that they will stand behind the product they sell. After she gave me her rational that they are in business to make money, which I totally understand, but there was little effort to make me their customer feel that, yes sir this seems unusual on a newer vehicle with only 66k for mileage. And we will take care of this and resolve the inconvenience. At minimal to no cost and we will take this up with Chrysler Corp. End of story I could have bought a aftermarket ignition coil for $26 which couldn t be any worse than the manufacturer part, but I bought an OEM part for $54.00 dollars, not Canadaguia Motors new price of all most $66.00. I then popped off the engine shroud and removed the 1 small metric bolt that holds it in place and made the swap in a matter of 5 minutes and saved myself almost $200.00 in labor costs for what must have been done the same exact way by thier service department in June and October of 18. Consumers need to get a little educated on car repairs to avoid being taken advantage of. Not impressed with this Jeep product or the customer service provided by the Service dept to stand behind the vehicle. We will never do business with them again.
Compared to car-buying experiences that I've had elsewhere, Canandaigua Chrysler Dodge Jeep definitely exceeded my expectations, by getting me thru the buying process from start to finish with no problems or issues and no attempts to up-sell me on any other vehicle or package. Jed did a great job understanding what I was looking for and ultimately making it happen! Not to mention that everyone I came in contact with was very friendly, including those who had no involvement in my transaction! Would definitely recommend checking out Canandaigua Chrysler if you're in the market for a new or used vehicle!!
Absolutely terrible service department. Brought vehicle back several times for the same problem and continues not to be resolved. Would not recommend to anyone
I highly recommend their service staff very prompt courteous done when they say it is done and they leave the car or truck cleaner than when they started. Five stars for the staff in the service department at Canandaigua Chrysler.
Our sales man, Kyle, was very attentive. We really appreciated that he and everyone else went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was positive. We traveled from Michigan to New York to purchase our new Yukon. The vehicle was just as perfect as described and pictured. The couple little issues were handled swiftly and save us from the cost of an additional day of rental car. Kyle also helped us locate a nice hotel to stay while we were there. Our whole experience was wonderful due to Kyle and the caring staff at Canandaigua Chrysler. We would consider taking another road trip for our future vehicles, they really cater to their customers!
I'll start with they did a great job on.my truck.. had to have a new rearend and transmission replaced..( also 3 recalls) took 3 weeks to do this... but not 1 time did they call me with any kind of update. Myself or my wife had to call them.. then I get my truck back and now I have to go detail it due to grease marks all over the truck as well as the inside.. over all they got me back on the road I just feel communicating would of been a big help...
Great dealership. We had gone to several other dealers and not once did a salesperson come and talk to us. We were at Canandaigua Chrysler less than 5 minutes and Eric greeted us discussed our needs and wants and got us in the truck we wanted. No high pressure, relaxed atmosphere. Good people.
Jordan Eaves was great to work with. He helped me stay within my budget. Answered all my questions. Made me feel comfortable that I was making an informed and positive purchase. I will be a repeat customer.
A little dated inside but friendly service. I have had my Dodge Grand Caravan serviced here for issues and recalls and the service has been fast and expertly completed. Will continue to utilize this dealer for my official Dodge needs.
UPDATE: I would only recommend service here if it is covered under warranty or recall. Very expensive otherwise, even for diagnostics.
My wife, Kathy, and I have purchased vehicles from Canandaigua Motors for the past 30 years. Prices have always been competitive and their service is great. They pick up our car in Penfield, leave a loaner, take it to be serviced and bring it back that same day. Family owned---we like it that way!
Had a great purchase experience with Devan Farnes. He is very respectful and worked to make sure we had a low-pressure visit to the dealership. If you go to Canandaigua Jeep, ask for him!
I was sold a car last August and I've already had to spend over $2,000 fixing pretty much everything that could go wrong the sales man didn't check the service report before selling it and sold me a lemon not in the legal sense but I'm still angrily paying for this mistake.
I will never buy another Jeep from them they sold me an extended warrant that was to start when my regular warranty was over but no I had two warranties at the same time I didn t know this until I went to use my extended warranty and it already expired. What kind of dealership does that?
