Overcrowded and expensive. There should be no entry fee as everything else is overpriced anyways. This model should be changed into a cover cost where the entry fee can be converted into rides or food. If this does not happen it will lose its mojo over a period of time

My first visit to the CNE with my husband. It was very well organized. Maps were handed out at the gates. There was an information stall put up as well. Great rides, variety of food and bands playing with some performances as well. Would have been nice if there was some pop music though. The only drawback was that the washrooms were dirty.

I hate that CNE completely blocked off a huge area in downtown. Even adjacent streets, that have no relation to the exhibition, and don't have any gates to enter it were not accessible. We had to wander around for 40 minutes to find a way to public transit from the lake, because everywhere we went we met CNE staff saying that we can't go this way. I believe The City should care a little more about people, and realize that this is a major inconvenience for pedestrians. You can't just completely cut off the lake from the rest of the city for one event!

The Ex has changed a lot since the last time I was here as a kid. Brought my kids for the first time and they had a blast. Protip - Park somewhere away from there and take the Go or TTC to get there. It cost me $30 to park there.

Great event Canadians can be proud of. There is something for everyone of all ages. From the the shopping for art, clothing, furniture and other knick knacks, to authentic foods, acrobat and skating shows, gaming, and farm animal interactions, just to name a few.

I like the CNE but feel manipulated. I got all the emails telling me to buy tickets in advance. I did so. We went on Friday August 16 and found out it would have cost much less if we had just paid at the gates.
Not nice CNE, not nice

Visiting the EX is a Canadian tradition. It's worth the $15-20 pp for the great shows you get to see. This year the acrobatic show was super cool.

Take your own healthy food of you can. The food is junk and overrated. Rides are only for toddlers. But overall a good experience worth the time.

The food was a little overpriced. My biggest concern was the smoking at the concert. I came specifically for the concert. So many people smoking that I was physically ill. Couldn't get away from it even though I moved around. Isn't it against the law to smoke in a public area. I was not impressed.

Over priced. Used to be, a way of Companies showing their wares. With free samples and reduced price items. Now its charge 2 times the price for food outside the grounds. You really feel scammed. For the portions you actually get. Portion sizes also have shrunk.

I've been going there almost every year for a while now and this place just doesn't get old! You have so much to choose from for the rides, carnival games and the food and the shows are incredibly entertaining. From dog shows, cat shows, fire shows, skating shows, food shows., etc, just to name a few

Great place to go with your friends / family

I don t go to the EX for the food, instead I enjoy the exhibits, performances and music, particularly at the Band Shell. It is a longstanding tradition for me, and one that I really missed this year.

We have been going to the CNE Every year for the past 10 years religiously! We plan some days with the kids and some days just the adults! This year they brought in a really great competition called the EX RACE that I had the opportunity to participate in! While I didn t make it to the finals, it was an extremely memorable experience! We love everything from the food building, the better living centre with its vendors, to all the fun rides and games outside! This year also mark the first year that our three-year-old was old enough to enjoy her experience with us! She s still talking about going on the rides and it s already three days later! LOL See you next year CNE!

Spent 150 dollars for a mediocre experience. I was expecting more with all the hype the ex gets. Food is nothing special, the usual carnival games nothing new or exciting. At least they have a a few cool rides. Overall not worth the time

So much fun! There's no end of things to do, from really fun rides to petting zoos and everything in between. You can easily spend a day here and not get bored. It's a convenient location, but I wouldn't recommend driving as traffic can be pretty bad. There's and arts and crafts building where you can purchase locally crafted goods, a food building with options galore and fun games throughout. An annual must! Also live music on 3 stages and patios.

This amusement park is perfect for greasy food lovers. I had the fried ramen chicken sandwich and it was unusually delicious. Lots of variety and food choices in the food building. For rides, there were plenty of options. Even though there were long lineups, it moved fast. Also, the ground was kept cleaned. There were many staff and volunteers visible to help out. Theres something for everyone!

Unfortunate that all fairgoers were forced to leave three hours early. You should be letting us use our tickets to return another night. You completely over-reacted to a few incidents of rowdy behaviour. That could have been dealt with, without throwing out all patrons. How can I trust you not to do it again.

At the CNE you know what to expect. Its an overrated carnival. The trade buildings sell the same stuf every year and its debatable if you get any deals. Most of the food in the food building is sub par and obscenely over priced. This year the poutine I got was served with fries my dog would not have eaten ( Boichards) Burnt husks of once potato...

Well i kinda out grew it, although my MOM passed away last year, so in honour of her (since my Poppa was in the IBEW , he passed also) i write for the tickets for my Family now, i got to tell you it was BETTER YEARS ago, at the EX , they use to give you free samples, at the FOOD BUILDING, they don,t anymore! It,s just NOT what it use to be, plus it gets really hot to walk around, i find that kinda boring, unless you want to buy something, a lot of junk. But it ,s a tradition to see once a year, i guess.

Lots of fun but there are SO MANY PEOPLE its extremely annoying trying to navigate through the crowds. Nowhere to sit or eat because there arent enough spots. Games and gambling areas extremely crowded. A bit hard to enjoy yourself feeling like herded sheep. Also, I was suprised there wasnt some type of security checkpoint or bagcheck to get inside. There are security checkpoints most everywhere else like budweiser stage or the scotiabank arena but not at the EX? Honestly made me feel uncomfortable with all the terrorist attacks and massacres happening every day you dont feel super safe without some attempt at securing the festival.

With the prices climbing every year, it's getting expensive just to walk through the buildings. More stands in the food building need to start taking debit as most people in know do not carry cash around much any more.

Use to be a lot nicer back in the day. Overcrowded and some of the gaming staff are super rude. Probably wont be going back for a couple years. The best part was their lantern addition. Very bright, colorful and pleasant to view.

If it wasn't for the football game I would not go. Its shelf life has expired. Expensive food options in the food building. A $7 dollar hotdog and a $4 soda? Really? Not worth it, but you are a captive client.
Midway games and rides are too tired.
Not really family affordable, but then again what is in the city of greed.
