Embassy that does not take the time to respond to consecutive emails sent three years in a row. When I was lucky enough to have direct contact with a staff member, the answer was: ok you can try but I do not think we will answer you. This was a sponsorship request. According to the way I was ignored, I conclude that the people who work at this embassy are busy having fun rather than doing their job by providing at least the minimum service to which a Frenchman has the right . Have a good day.

1. Gave them a call regarding a query related to my visa and got a lame and unreasonable person on the line who kept on repeating, "please send email". Hello!? Why the hell do you have a phone number for?! I am not making an international call just to get that kind of a response. It is important!

2. Whoever that person is answering the calls, it is my kind request to you to be more polite while on the phone. You are representing an embassy of france and please learn some telephone etiquettes.

Dear Concerned

Dear Concerned
Your visa application center in Cochin (VFS) is not showing any slot for appointment. Why is it so?
But they will give emergency visa application date if paid extra cash. I think this is a game wherein they want to collect additional money from students by purposely closing the normal appointment system.
The staff also is not polite and not really service oriented. Why do they need to be rude with a student? They think that they are embassy. We know that it is only a document collection point. I would request the honourable consulate to throw a bit light on Cochin VFS center for France.

If you are reading this then please be careful what they can do to your future career. I got admission in a university in France. I was really happy that I will be able to make my future better. It took me 6 months to prepare every document, I did all verification. I prepared all my documents with more than enough funding through loan and saving, lets say I gave my all. I attached all proof of offer letter, NOC, accommodation, Air tickets and etc. I started packing my stuff. I got a message that my passport is coming back. I was hoping to see my Visa on it but instead I saw a refusal letter which mentioned the reason that my accommodation document is not reliable and neither enough to prove anything. I was shocked as hell. I remember attaching all my accommodation certificate, my rent payment, agreement sent by the accommodation owner, I mentioned all details of accommodation owner in my cover letter. It didn't make sense, we asked our relatives who know about these things and they said that this is the first time they see French embassy refusing a Visa with this reason. I mean I also myself never saw anyone's Visa getting refused on this basis. I am all broke inside. French embassy saw and knew how much money I already spent on this all but still rejected everything. There is no refunding for me now.

Thank you French embassy for your cruelty.

Please take it seriously, think before applying anything for France.

Worst worst worst!!!! The French embassy in New Delhi is the slowest in taking a visa decision. It's been almost a month that they have my passport, no update on the vfs site. I had to cancel my flight because of them. I am working in Paris and now i had to extend my leaves without pay. They are forcing me to contact MEA. They have made my simplest case of a return visa very very complicated plus not a single email response!! The people who answer the calls are the most rude agents i have ever faced!!! Really annoyed. :(

Worst experience.. They refuse visa for no reason.
They just give excuse when they feel like not sending anyone to France.
I got an admission in one of the universities in France and completed all the formalities with the university and campus France. I provided all the documents including Campus France NOC(no objection certificate) and have enough funds in my bank account to meet living expenses. Still they refused my visa by giving an excuse that funds are not sufficient. I have almost double of the amount that i'm required to show to them in my bank account.
I would request the ambassador to please audit the work that visa people are doing within the embassy as it is effecting relations between France and India.

I am a french origin person living in India since years. I called my own embassy regarding my visa issue as I did my visa extension online as per the new indian rules and I didn't get any reply from FRRO Delhi. My visa is expiring today and the guy at the reception just hung up on me after listening my story!!!!! Why should we need an embassy when, in case of problem, nobody is here to help you ??????? It's just scandalous !!!!!!!!!!! As we know, this people inside get a huge salary for not doing their job..... Shame on my country !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i along with my husband wanted to visit the country... my husband is a government employee. in spite of applying for visa three times we have been denied the visa . Now when we asked the embassy authorities to let us know the deficiency they are just not bothered and concerned. high time they should understand that someone has spent their hard earned money to plan a trip and its just a joke for them... french embassy highly disappointed by your attitude...

I was invited for the launch event of Asterix in Hindi. Got to meet Alexandre Ziegler, the Ambassador of France to India.

When it comes to diversity, language is not just a bridge for building relationships but also opens new dimensions of opportunity! Comedy satire and iconic French comic gets an Indian twist :: Asterix in Hindi!

A completely distinct narrative but linguistically an amazing translation that has French and Indian cultural sensibilities in equal measures

I m really upset that my visa got refused due to reason number 9. And as you know they don't explain you all. I want to re apply but I don't know what they want as my documents were perfect when I asked at VFS. I undoubtly thought that I would receive my visa. I have my confirmed flight ticket on 19th of this month. Kindly suggest how can I solve this issue? My only need at the moment.

If you are reading this, then you might be planning to apply for french visa. I got admission into my dream college and dream course , I have the required funds to complete my studies in France but shockingly my visa got rejected twice(Once from Bangalore and Pondicherry Consulate). And when I tried to contact them to raise my query , no one answered. Now I am left with no choice but to take my fees back and it left a big void in my career. My dreams shattered and I still do not know the exact reason why my student visa was refused. So friends please be cautious about this embassy.....Genuine students are also getting visa rejections.. choose another destination instead.

The person who attend calls is very unprofessional. He appeared to be helpless ,always seems to be in hurry to disconnect call even before the person at this end is done with his/her query. And see the irony an Indian(executive in French embassy) in India doesn't feel like to solve issue.Very very heartbreaking.

There is no way to speak to anybody about the Indi...

There is no way to speak to anybody about the Indian passport that went with an application to the Embassy. Not only its just about application but do realise that you are keeping someone's passport with you and for that you need to be providing a response. This is a complaint about people at the French Embassy who are quick enough to say 'dont waste my time' and hang up, while you can clearly hear people laughing in the background and the guy answering phone was fully engaged in the conversation before saying 'hello/allo'. I note that its busy times over there! A bit of laugh at workplace doesnt hurt but if a phone call has come in, maybe listen to the person as to why the call was made?

What is this type of service from the French Embassy in India?

Normal visa processing time for short stay visa is 3 days. Its been days you are holding someone's passport and not even providing an update on what and where the application is standing at or the Indian passport for that matter. Is the passport lost? I would have no clue because the guys at the embassy are very quick to jump on a conclusion that i am wasting there time when i say 'i havent got a response from the embassy on the email i sent' .

I cant fathom that you guys have the courage to say 'don't waste my time' on a call that lasted less than a minute!

Very disappointed. I will be making a very formal complaint about - no update on visa application, no response to my two emails to the embassy after the 48 hours response time had been passed, and behaviour of the person on the phone in embassy (let me make it very clear, i am not talking about VFS centre helpline).

Please the staff of Amb FR, it would really create a web section for the marriage between French and Indian citizen!

It's really complicated, misinforming, etc.

And the problems of apostillage, really fed up;

While it helps to avoid fraud is good but we must be properly directed!

Hello my dear friends of the French Embassy I am sorry for the event that happened I am of Indian origin but I live in France and believe me I share your pain but the politician Ajam Khan of India is he's really stupid, he's looking at his own community not that of others. I'm talking to you about it because as a native of India and practically most of India they hate it all, only one community appreciates it. And I'm ashamed because I understand your pain and believe me again what this politician said about this attack I do not agree and I also support you

So today I had called the embassy to enquire for a working visa for France. Which I thought was an ideal situation when you are looking out for information regarding a particular country. The gentleman picked up the phone. From his accent, he sounded Indian. I asked the question and he said you need to call on another number. Due to disturbance and since the gentleman wasn't clear enough, I asked him if he can repeat what he said. To that, he literally snapped at me and said, "madam, do you understand English?" Which seemed unecessary considering the fact that I asked the question in English. While I was typing the number on phone, my key sound was on and he said, "madam, don't you have a paper and pen? It is disturbing." I changed it to a notepad since it is hard to think when a person on the other hand is difficult to deal with. As I was about to tell him that sir, you could be polite as it's your job to guide people in your country. He just hung up. It was highly impolite and extremely inappropriate. It's the basic etiquette to be polite when you're talking to someone for the first time. I wonder how such crude people even get hired, especially at a country's embassy. Please make customer service your priority otherwise what's the point of all this?
