Joined together about 6 youth groups and had a blast. The ropes were fun and the food was good. It's a beautiful place, and the cabins were clean and the mattresses did just fine. We liked the water sports and the zip lining too. The facilities were great for large group and we went outside to the picnic tables for small group time. Lovely place.

This is based of my daughter's experience i'm a stay at home mom that spends every second with her so this was a big leap. They had open house for me to check everything out no commitment but she seemed right at home from the first visit. Drop off was 2 pm that was the only thing i didn't like i had signed up for the 3 days 2 nights and thought it would be full days.
the paperwork was easy to fill out you could also do it online the list of things to bring was not bad it all made sense (fitted sheets or sleeping bag, bug spray, fan, swim suit, rain coat, towels, extra clothes and i was told to label everything in case it got mixed up or lost, there is also the option to bring medication if needed there were nurses on duty) i was able to get everything together very fast the only thing that might take time was the physical depending on your pediatrician.
she stated that she had a great time and when i went to pick her up at 5 pm the third day she was collecting and exchanging phone numbers she made lots of friends and said her favorite activity was swimming in the lake she mentioned many other activities but that was most memorable. she got to make smores, she had a burger for lunch on one of the days she also said there was flashlight time before bed.
All in all i was pleased with her first camping experience and i will be sending her again next year but for the longer session! the staff are very polite and welcoming.

I've been coming to this camp for years, a large chunk of my life at this point during off season as well as on. The Camp's 100+ years have given it a magical and I might even say beautiful atmosphere. The nostalgia is real to simply be there. I've heard testimony after testimony from people who agree with how powerful the camp is. Even people who didn't even go there as a kid have said that simply walking over the hill at camp takes them back to their childhood. The Camp has a power to it that is blind to ethnic or religious background although it belongs to the Young Man's Christian Association (YMCA). I have never meet a person who has spent time at camp and didn't leave happy. The current Board of Directors for Camp's activity at camp is making it the best it's been in years so, if you want to get a taste of the magic then now's the time and who knows you might end up being the one sitting around a fire pit giving your testimony on how camp changed your life sometime in the next 20 or even 80 years. Honesty I wish I could give more than 5 stars because anyone who doesn't rate camp highly doesn't really know camp.

Great outdoor experience for kids! I was a counselor here for years and the camp has a great way of connecting people while having fun. Activities include archery, swimming, canoeing and kayaking, riflery, arts and crafts, a rope course, etc. Placed on a beautiful waterfront lake, it is a great place to work and a great place to send your campers!

This camp has been a truly influential place in my life. I have learned what it means to labor for the good of others here; to care whole heartily for the children I have had the honor of serving. I have found so much growth and peace here; lessons that have literally changed my life. I like to think that the experiences I have had have been two way. That in as much as I have received I have had an impact on the children who have come here. So much so that I feel some of my greatest actions have been here. Nothing too huge, only smiling faces and hopefully great summers. To me this place is holy ground. A place where kid's can come and escape their troubles for a week or two. A place where lucky people like me can be a part of that, and hopefully grow to desire to give what they have received right back.-(3 years on staff, now 21 years old)

As an old camper and counselor, Camp Winona holds a dear place in my heart. The programs offered at Camp Winona help children develop socially and emotionally, all under the umbrella of "having fun."

I love Beautiful & Scenic Camp Winona. It hasn't changed in seven years ago when I was a camper and it was my first time being back there as a counselor. It brought back soooo many memories and I will be back.

Lovely camp site for large groups. Our tour guide was an awesome cat. He led us around and through the entire place. Staff is friendly. Cabins look nice. I'm excited for our event to take place here.

As a child I went to this camp for 6 summers and loved it. From someone who is expecting their first child, I cant wait for them to experience camp.

Only thing, I disagree with Winona making kids sing Christian songs each night. But I'm assuming they don't do that anymore, to be more inclusive of other children and families.

Camp Winona is a wonderful place to send your children for camp. There are so many activities to choose from during their stay. When I was a kid, I went for the two week program for several summers. The location is beautiful. I highly recommend Camp Winona to anyone!

This is an awesome camp! I have a child who is not very social. He made numerous friends that we are going to be doing other activities with. The staff were very efficient and courteous. They even allowed me to drop my child off early as I had to return to work. He is actually attending his 2nd week this summer thanks to the YMCA staff and the generous donors who make these campers dreams a reality! He now wants to attend every year and enter into the CIT program when he is old enough! Thank you YMCA and the scholarship donors who made this possible! After his first week at camp he came out confident, his self-esteem was higher than I have ever seen it and best of all I think it was the happiest he has ever been! Thank you Camp Winona!! We will see you again next year!!
