My daughter's favorite activity every summer. Couldn't ask for a better place.

I would recommend Camp Thurman to anyone with kids. They teach kids integrity and how to work together. Pawnee was the main awesome counselor for our group on a school field trip, and he was incredibly patient with the kids.

So much fun. Family place ...Tons of things to do..

The overall camp concept is wonderful. It is a christian based program with fantastic activities, great staff, etc., except there is one major problem. All of this is irrelevant if your kid is getting bullied, cussed out & physically assaulted. It crushes their spirit to say the least. The first day at this camp my 5 1/2 yr. old son was cussed out by a fellow camp mate. We thought it was handled by management. The bully's parents had him write an apology note the next day. Then on day three, the bully got his friend to physically assault my son when the counselor was busy talking. My son is not a troublemaker, goes to a christian school, has been to Adventure Kids on Lake Grapevine (which isn't even a christian based program) since he was 3 years old & we have never EVER had ths kind of problem anywhere - except at Camp Thurman. There needs to be very aggressive rules & measures in place to prevent bullying from happening but apparently there is not. A real disappointment!!!

I have gone since I was in first grade or something and going to be a counselor in a few years.

Camp Thurman has a 40 year reputation of providing loving, encouraging and fun times for kids! Throughout the years, the counselors and staff have been excellent models of Christ's love for the campers. Many families, including mine, have been connected to CT for multiple generations, and we are so thankful to have Camp Thurman as part of our summer year after year!

Orbit is such an excellent and friendly camp counselor. He is the best!

Daughter absolutely loves the day camp. Counselors are always cheerful, they send pictures of your children daily, and endeavor to give your child the most fun they can. My daughter loves it so much she wants to be a counselor

Camp Thurman is awesome. So much fun! My kids had a GREAT time! The counselors were awesome and they have so many fun activities to do each day! I would definitely recommend it!

Awesome adventure camp for kids. Loved bringing the family on Family Day. Loved chatting with the owner. Staff is super friendly and well trained. My family and I had a great time.

2017 summer camp for my (then 9 yoa) daughter was an excellent experience.

It was really fun we did chicken plop and we went swimming and we did the power pole and we did the Bible study and yeah it was fun i suggest get your kids to go its 300 dollars but they will have fun

My sister went here over summer and had a blast. She really enjoyed the time here. She made new friends and enjoyed the many activities offered by this wonderful camp. The staff were kind and supportive. She is most definitely going to go back next summer as well. Awesome

Leaving the ER with my son! He was picked up from Camp Thurman with what I am assuming was kinesiology tape that was way to tight around his wrist and no communication from the nurse or counselors at any point. Come to find out his wrist is broken!! I understand accident happens and the child he was playing with felt horrible but to have no communication from the camp with parents or guardians I am sorry that is beyond unacceptable!!! My son was not allowed to even keep his phone in his bag for emergency. Which I know my son he would had called me right after seeing the nurse and I could have decided when to take him to the doctor or not instead of waiting till he was picked up!

Camp Thurman was absolutely amazing! Jethro worked so well with the kids. Our son is 4 years old and after meeting Jethro as well as all the other wonderful counselors at the open house we felt very comfortable. Thurman has a wide variety of activities, great location and Christian based. The communication with our counselor was also great, we were able to text, call and email him... Every day my child begged to go to go back to camp because he had so much fun!

Christian atmosphere. friendly respectful staff. so many activities for kids. this place is awesome.

Camp Thurman is an spreads the gospel to children from the ages of 4 to 13. Every year there is an increased waiting list because of how faithful God has been to Camp Thurman. The Camp will continue to forever spread the Word of God to children and their staff. These words I speak to you in truth with an open heart.

This is an awesome Christian summer camp! I would recommend it to anyone with school age children.

Our three children have attended as campers as well as worked at Camp Thurman for for a combined total of 20 years. Whether it be as a camper or a camp employee, their individual experience has been stellar. I encourage any and everyone with any questions as to the motivation, structure and leadership of Camp Thurman, to attend a family day and experience for yourselves the tremendous and amazing opportunity your kids will have in an environment which clearly operates from a Christ centered world view.

We take our sixth graders here every year, and I can't think of a better place where students can grow and learn to value themselves and others.

Awesome. Boys loved it. Camp operates on biblical principles.

Camp Thurman is great. The facilities are awesome, tons of shade trees for the kids on those hot summer days. Several pools a couple of ropes courses and everyone I have met there is really nice and genuinely seems to care.

Our kids love the camp. They get to do a lot of different activities and we know that they are well cared for during their time at camp

Staff is super friendly, my kids thoroughly enjoyed the activities, & they do a lot of outreach.

All of my three of my sons love this place. They go every summer. Ages 6, 7 and 10 years old. Oldest has be there for at least 4 years in a row.

My college had a student leader day there. The staff was very friendly, had had a lot of fun activities planed. I was able to try things I have always wanted to do, a great example was being able to ride a zip line for the first time. My first experience was wonderful and hope my college does something like this with them again.

My daughter goes here every summer. She has not had 1 day that she didn't come home and say she had a blast!

My girls have tried out this camp and have been very impressed. The staff has been very vigilant about following CDC guidelines with COVID. The staff has also been very friendly and helpful. My girls have really enjoyed being able to attend and still learn valuable lesson all while building new friendships.

I've been going to Camp Thurman day camp since I was six, and the past two years I've gone to Getaway hosted at Camp Akiva. Camp is my favorite part of the summer every single year. Me and my large group of camp friends always get matching outfits for theme nights, and we have a reunion between our group every January. Camp Thurman is such an amazing place and I am so excited to become a CIT next year!!

Went there myself in 80 s and 90 s and now my son gets to go. Safe and Godly atmosphere. Doesn t get any better!!

Brought out my youth group and it was amazing they kept everyone hydrated and having a great safe time

My daughter used to work there as well as my kids attended. They DO have strict rules in place for bullies but unfortunately bullies often say things and do things when the staff is not looking right at them or can hear them. The staff goes through training in dealing with bullies and often sends them home or are asked not to come back. Camp cannot screen their campers and therefore there will be campers who misbehave, bully, etc through no fault of Camp Thurman. The staff there is amazing, enthusiastic, kind, caring and love Jesus. I would take my children/grandchildren back here in a heartbeat! Camp Thurman is the best! IT IS VERY VERY SAFE!

It was my daughter s first time going to Camp Thurman this year and she had an amazing time. The counselors are great. They have the whole thing down to an art, from drop-off to pick-up. If you re looking for a Christian summer day-camp in the mid-cities area, you can t go wrong with Camp Thurman!
