I took my son for a father/son retreat organized by my sister's church.
The staff was great. They were kind, friendly, and looked like they love their work.
They made a delicious chilly hot dog and hamburger on Friday. Saturdays meals were good, but because Friday dinner was delicious it made Saturdays meals substandard.
We enjoyed the Zipline, the gym, shooting, archery, slingshots and building a rocket.
The property is nice. The river water was murky when we visited, but that was because of the rain they had previously. That's what I was told by other guests.

My child attends this camp each year. I wish I could give the staff, programs and location 10 stars. The setting is the highland lakes area of the hill country which is simply beautiful with the hills and the winding oak and mesquite trees. The staff members are intentional about providing the best care, compassion, enthusiasm for your child all while modeling Christian values. The multitude of staffers that work behind the scenes to make camp safe, fun, and affordable are to be commended as well. The wide array of activities (horseback riding, zip line, swimming, archery, bible study, mission patrol, rock climbing, etc.) make this camp so revered. You cannot go wrong sending your child here for camp. We look forward to attending a family retreat here in the fall.

This place is pefect for anyone who wants to take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We went here for the first time on Thanksgiving Camp and we can't be more than happy. It was the best choice to spend out 4-day weekend. The place is peaceful and there is a good balance of activities, relaxation and devotion time. We are definitely coming back.

The Best Christian Camp! My parents met at Camp Peniel in 1948. I attended every summer from 1979-1983. All my kids go every summer and my oldest is a counselor. Can't recommend it enough! Your kids will love it!

About Camp Peniel

Camp Peniel: A Place for Adventure, Mission, and Challenge in the Texas Hill Country

Located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Camp Peniel has been a destination for adventure seekers, mission-minded individuals, and those looking for a challenge for over 70 years. With over 300 acres of beautiful property to explore and enjoy, Camp Peniel offers a unique experience that is both fun and meaningful.

At Camp Peniel, we believe that everyone has a purpose and calling in life. Our mission is to help people discover their purpose by providing opportunities for personal growth through outdoor activities, team building exercises, leadership training programs, and spiritual development.

Our facilities are designed to accommodate groups of all sizes. Whether you're planning a family vacation or organizing a corporate retreat, we have everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Our cabins are equipped with modern amenities such as air conditioning/heating units and private bathrooms/showers.

One of the highlights of Camp Peniel is our adventure activities. We offer zip-lining through our beautiful hill country landscape as well as rock climbing on our natural rock formations. For those who prefer water-based activities we have kayaking on our lake or swimming in one of our two pools.

In addition to adventure activities we also offer mission trips where participants can serve local communities by volunteering at food banks or helping with disaster relief efforts. These trips provide an opportunity to make an impact while also growing personally through service.

For those looking for more challenging experiences we offer wilderness survival training courses where participants learn how to survive in the wild using only basic tools such as knives and fire starters. This course provides valuable skills that can be used not only in outdoor settings but also in everyday life situations.

At Camp Peniel we believe that spiritual development is just as important as physical development. We offer daily devotions led by experienced pastors who provide guidance on how faith can be integrated into everyday life experiences.

Our commitment to excellence has earned us recognition from various organizations including being accredited by American Camping Association (ACA) which ensures safety standards are met at all times during camp operations.

In conclusion if you're looking for an unforgettable experience filled with adventure ,mission work ,and personal growth then look no further than Camp Peniel!
