Was brilliant, accidentaly turned up in time for the show at the very top. Entertaining and informative staff (Archie). The whole place is fantastic fun and to do it easiest start from the roof.

What a great experience. My 11yo daughter and I loved the range of optical illusions and hands on exhibits. Thoroughly recommended.
We ended up here to get out of the cold and snowy weather, after visiting Edinburgh castle. It was quite fun with some interesting illusions, definitely more for families with children, nevertheless it was enjoyable!
Amazing! On the top floor there is light scope to see people on the groud floor. They have guided tour uncluding in the ticket price
What a place to enjoy when you visit Edinburgh. each floor has something for eveyone and all age groups. It was very busy just to get into the place well worth it. best part standing top tower and enjoying the views Edinburgh castle and surronding areas, some images show you views, well worth a visit.
Lots of fun for all ages. The optical illusions are truly awesome. It gets very busy, so go early to stroll through at your leisure.
Well worth a visit, fascinating camera obscura demonstration and amazing interactive environments. Suitable for all ages
Such an interesting museum. Good fun for kids and adults. Go on a sunny day so you can see the sights from the camera on the top floor!
Luv all the exhibition.
It s very interesting beyond my expectations
Smarty pants staff members working at otherwise good and historic facility to entertain using photographic illusions.
Smarty pants staff members are self boasting too as is evident from the comment that one of the staff members left below in which they do not even acknowledge their shortcoming and brush aside a negative customer experience as mere insignificant, which tell a lot about how much Camera Obscura cares about customer opinion.
Consist of 5 floor full of optical attraction. Highlighted attraction is vortex and camera onscura.
It was fun. You can try a lot of things and take funny pictures
Very good. Only slightly affected by the COVID pandemic.
Would recommend.
The entrance fee is not expensive. Amazing place. Interactive museum. So much amazing collection and displays. One of the must visit museum. They also have a show at the 6th floor, so don't miss it.
Well worth the price spent just over an hour here and loved it. You don't need kids to enjoy this place just be prepared to get freaked ot and amazed and laugh lots. The camera is really quite cool have to say thanks to Dougal for being a great entertainer and your guide. Tall people beware there is a low ceiling out to the roof without padding!
I really didn't know what to expect but it was a fun day here!
This place is great for kids and adults alike. It was great to add some fun to a trip to Edinburgh.
Would recommend, it's worth the money.
I visited Edinburgh with my mother and that was a very good attraction for people that don't understand English. It was interactive and altough I am a big fan of illusions and I've seen all sorts of things, there were items that blew my mind. Fantastic opportunity to take pictures!
Great place for the family on a day out, plenty of magical moments covering six floors. No cafe area, toilet facilities, on each floor some seating in the form of benches. Can get very busy, and stairs leading to each floor very narrow.
Absolutely fun. Definitely worth a visit. Especially for kids.
So fun and a great laugh good for all ages and brilliant views
Loads to see and do. Leave more time than you think. Bit expensive but we'll worth the money
An absolute must-see for kids. We visited CO last year and my two kids just loved it and were engaged and interested during the whole visit. We're definitely visiting CO again this year.
If I may recommend having on site short workshops for the 10+ age group where they can assemble a basic camera maybe.. but probably space is too limited.
Thank you so much for the unforgetable experience.
Good but very expensive it's the sort of place you will visit once but it is worth going be better with a discount voucher though!!
One of the best days out in Edinburgh. A great place to take kids, especially if it's raining.
Kids of all ages will love it, including the big ones!
A place well worth a visit. I've visited here twice over the last few years with friends and family. The main camera at the top allows you to look down on the city and Edinburgh castle area.
Nice view on the city and castle, nice visual expierence.
This is a really fun place. You can spend hours inside. get ready to laugh and fun!
I enjoyed the experience. Wished there were more still illusions to see
One of the best parts of my trip to Edinburgh. Gorgeous views, unique history and a fun exhibition. Strongly recommended
Excellent tourist attraction
Lots of fun
If I could rate it with more than 5 star I would. Place is hilarious! Went with my mum and had a lot of fun! You'll never stop looking around you and mostly always surprised ! 100% worth it.
Truly unique and wonderful day out. Many floors of wonders but there are a lot of stairs which are quite irregular so be aware. I'm unsure if they have a lift so check first if you need one.
Must see if you are in Edinburgh. One of a kind. Throughly enjoyed it!
The experience was wonderful and all the illusions were very entertaining. One problem was that the accessibility was a little bit poorer, esp for senior people who may have issues climbing the stairs all the way to the 6th floor!
Fun place especially the room with a mirror maze.loads of tourists.
Plenty of interactive stuff for both children and adults. Staff were very friendly and good humoured.
Super super super place full of visual exhibits and tricks
Really fun and interesting. Good craic spying on people
As good as I remember it was 25 years ago, my 11 year old thoroughly enjoyed it. The only slight criticism is, being where it is and what it is, its an expensive attraction.
Great fun! Definitely one to visit, with people you re happy to laugh with! Plenty of silly fun. Glad we fitted this in whilst in Edinburgh- my wife previously visited, but wanted me to experience it. Fairly pricey for the amount there, but didn t notice as had some vouchers to use
Such a brilliant place. Make sure you go if you're in town. I loved it.
Such a fun place and worth the money. It can be done in about 2 hours and is such a laugh with friends. Highly recommended
I advise going here with a friend cause most of the illusions are created with 2 people...the experience was good but not that great
Very enjoyable. Nicely laid out and very friendly staff. Great afternoon
Nice place to visit, full of optical illusions and stuff like that
For a holiday a great way to spend a few hours when it's raining outside. The museum is worh the money, lot's of things to do and see, it doesn't bore you
Fantastic place to explore for a few hours. Those with kids will be particularly interested but it's just as fun for adults. Student discount is available
Aimed at children more than adults. Some good parts for adults to enjoy but mostly for children so did get boring after a first couple of floors
One of the best attractions i have been to in the UK
This place is must visit, few of the things will definitely thrill you and lots of excitement
Such a beautiful place. Rhey definitely managed to get the whole thing friendly for teens and families. Good job
While planning you may think: should I be visiting something else maybe a little bit more cultural? Probably, but this was real fun. Allow yourself the guilty pleasure of fooling around here, it's truly an entertaining experience and the staff are super friendly.
Amazing place and great fun for the whole family. I have been twice now and loved it both times :)
Would definitely recommend. Good for family days out, couples ect.
Its a wonderful place to visit for children and adults. The illusions you can interact with are awesome and can really show the power of the brain or its ability to be tricked. The price of admission is reasonable and definitely a must see if you are going to Edinburgh
We enjoyed this more than I ever thought we would! Spent 3 hours here and could definitely have stayed longer if we had more time. Our five year old was totally engrossed in loads of the exhibits like the hidden images, kaleido drawing and the vortex tunnel. Mirror maze is great. And the gift shop was good too! Would love to visit again when we're next back in Edinburgh
A very nice attraction. About 1 and a half hour to visit, and well worth it !
Place is great. Went up with my kids and they loved it. Would give it a miss about festival season cus it gets mobbed
Really loved this place. Especially the mind boggling tunnel. Strongly recommend for fans of photography or film
We had a great time at Camera Obscura, there are so many interactive activities which would no doubt be great for children (or bigger kids like us).
Visit on a nice day to get the most out of the views from the top level. Be sure to bring a camera or camera phone as there are so many photo opportunities - if you ever make it out of the mirror maze!
Awesome place to visit for two hours. Especially the kids will love it. Every floor is focused on different illusions. The show at the top is great and even though we were there before closing the staff was still friendly and energetic. Just the price is a little high, 10L would be more reasonable.
Very funny. To do absolutely if you visit Edinburgh with children. The must is the ticket available all the day: we had to go before finishing all the levels and my youngest daughter was disappointed; we came back after our appointment
Love this place, all the staff seem wonderful and both 8 month old and 5 year old loved the displays
A must see if your in Edinburgh. Unfortunately, due to its popularity, the queues can be long. However, the whole establishment is incredibly clean!
Fun great photo opportunities. Would be great for kids.
Lots to see and do here, especially great for kids!
Illusions, Camera Tricks and not to mention the Camera Obscura itself at the top which really is something you don't see every day - Not to mention the great views of the castle and Edinburgh itself.
Staff were great, exhibits a tad repetitive.
Ok for a rainy day
Super fun place!!! Book the tickets online to avoid the queue, and they're valid for the whole day. It's not a huge museum though, you can see everything in an hour or two. Very different and unique place, the camera obscura performance at the rooftop is awesome!
Very good with plenty of illusions and other things to keep yourself and your kids entertained. Fairly expensive but young kids go free. Be prepared for stairs. Great views from the top though and this is a good way to spend a couple of hours. The camera itself is best on clear, sunny days.
Not sure this is worth the hype, it s fun but I expected something more. There s a lot more to do in Edinburgh
Quite pricey, but had a great time here. We spend about 2,5 hours exploring all the illusions. I d seen most things before in other museums etc, but I had fun anyway. Loved the spinning tunnel, the mirror maze and the camera obscura of course.
Must visit for the kids.
Great way to get them to spend 3 hours.
What a fun day we had! Really dog friendly and interesting place. Great views of Edinburgh from the top.
mind blowing. If you get a chance, try to visit during dusk time..
Good place to visit.
Very interesting and joyful!!
Parking is not cheap and a walking distance of 10 minutes.
Kind customer service and helpful!
Such a great attraction for all ages! Probably one of the highlights of my Edinburgh trip. Highly recommend
