It's okay, not a lot of space for all the activities and number of people let in. Activities are interesting though.
Cool place to visit and spend time, fun rooms with equally fun and interesting things to explore. Its great to get to the top too and see the spectacular views!
Amazing place...the In&out ticket it s a great idea if you have children like us or just simply if you dont wanna spent the whole 2 or 3 hours inside
The shop is great!!
Loved the place! No matter how old you are, you'll always find something amazing and suitable for you, families with children or as a group of teenagers, its super lovable! 5 floors of different kind of tricks, 6th floor had the obscura which is recommended only in the morning and sun times, it takes about 15 minutes and is interesting to see! Enjoy it!
Really enjoyed this place, fun and entertaining. Worth a visit and would definitely recommend to people that are visiting Edinburgh to pop in.
Really different and interesting attraction, which is very interactive. Definitely worth visiting, as well as being really fun inside, the views of Edinburgh from theroof terrace are lovely. Requires a couple of hours. Suitable for families, lots of children enjoying it on my visit.
Great illusions. brilliant for kids or the child in you
Fun interesting and informative place. We enjoyed the vortex tunnel best
This little pearl in the centre of Edinburgh is one of the best attractions around. They have tons of really elaborate illusions. Do not be mistaken, it is not just a bunch of pictures, they have some rather elaborate optical illusions that I will assure you will really surprise you.
On top of that, they also have an actually camera obscura, a "camera" without film. There is a room at the top of the building where you can see the city in great detail, projected into a canvas in the middle of the room. It is truly remarkable.
Highly recommended....I have a 4yr old and 14yr old and both really enjoyed it all. Staff helpful and friendly. Very good.
Lived in Edinburgh my whole life but had never been here before. It's brilliant! Took my niece and we had a ball. Tickets aren't cheap, and you may be thinking it's too expensive for something crammed into such a small building, but there's so much to do. We had more fun here than we did at Dynamic Earth or the zoo. Little one loved it (and the big kid in me did too). Ticket lasts all day so you can leave for lunch and go back as often as you like. Highly recommended.
Went with the family in September. Everyone enjoyed the visit.
Awesome museum, amazing optical illusions and interactive games
Fun day out for adults or children, lots of science or art based illusions. On public days can get quite crowded, but staff makes sure it's not overloaded.
Definitely a fun place to explore! It gets overcrowded at times on weekend though but fun of little experiences and interesting facts!
Brilliant. Both myself and my 4 year old enjoyed it equally as much!
Good place to visit as it has a lot of optical illusion. If you are person of science then you will specially enjoy the place
Had a fabulous day here last Saturday! It was a rainy day so unfortunately the main event was a bit foggy but the staff were so friendly and helpful and made us laugh lots. The illusions are wonderful and there is something for all ages to enjoy. It was my second visit and I was worried I would be bored but I definitely wasn't! Had a great time overall!
Interesting and unique place to visit. My girlfriend and I enjoyed it
Great place full of attractions for all ages. With very polite people
Great! Don't even think of missing this event when you are in Edinburgh.
One of the Best museum. Put it on your to do list of Edinburgh.
Fantastic varied exhibits suitable for all ages, and re-entry throughout the day. Dedicate a couple of hours and try to visit more than once!
An absolutly amazing experience - a must have if you plan to visit Edinburgh
Quirky place to visit for locals, although I'm not sure if I was a tourist that I would spend my time here. Rated 5 stars for the great staff who very kindly allow folks to linger on the roof.
Brilliant place to go love it. Kids had a great time
Great place to get lost in !! Worth every penny u spend which isn't much at all . Allow yourself 2 hours or so go through all 6 levels comfortably.
It's a great place to bring young kids
And it's educational
We (two adults) had so much fun at Camera Obscura. There are great views of the city at the top floor. The dark show was entertaining and really quite extraordinary. There are many interactive things to do for all ages. We definitely left with smiles.
Great presentation, very informative, and nice touch of humour from Andrew. This was a great start to our visit. Loved working our way through the exhibits and illusions, as we made our down the floors. Amazing how our eye and mind can trick us...
Great fun, worth a visit and a special nod to Ross who was a very good guide.
Really a nice place for families . Should not miss.
There were nice illusions but it was extremely busy. You were allowed to go up and down the floors as you pleased. The "special show" was a waste and more for the entertainment of young kids.
Enjoyed this a lot. Great way to spend an hour and a half. Very interesting and make sure you visit the top floor for great views and talk about the camera obscura.
Sadly I seen it all on other places, nothing really spectacular or new... some activities are very boring, price is definitely to high...we went out in 30 minutes.
Very enjoyable experience with some wonderful illusions and a lovely rooftop view of the city.
Ver nice, fun and interesting experience. Lot of hands on activities, a bit on the expensive side, but worth it. Especially since it also involves the view of Edinburgh through an entertaining show in a dark room at the roof.
Oh, I really like here. The service attitude of the staff is very nice. Who told me that the Scots were barbarians
But there's one thing I need to talk, Some people threw rubbish in it and the staff did not clean it in time.
Very little to see for the asking price. I DO NOT RECOMMEND !!!
Went here a few years back, very cool and mystical.
I went with my girlfriend a couple of years ago. It was a fun day out and worth going to. It's over a few floors and there are lots to see and try.
A great visit on a school holiday. We travelled by train and the kids train tickets got them in for a quid. A bargain as the real price is 12.95. great illusions throughout with lots of surprises. Good day out.
Camera obscura well worth a visit, if not for the obscura for the illusions below. Great craic
A brilliant day out for the family kids thoroughly enjoyed it so did I. Would recommend it to everyone
Fantastic place to take the kids, lots of interactive things for them to do.
Impressive place. Nice to hear pure scotish accent. Don't know. Just cute. It is not the best but brand "Camera obscura" exist.
fantastic place kids and adults really enjoyed it definitely worth a visit
It is amazing with all the great illusions there and they have a actual gift shop with alright prices and aren't overpriced, so I recommend it to people who love awsome and attractive places. There's 6 floors, 5 with illusions and the bottom floor with the great gift shop. This is a place you'll want to go to before you die.
Fun place to visit.
Kids enjoyed it a lot
Lots to see & suitable for all. Adults & 5 year olds had a fun day. Would recommend on a visit to Edinburgh.
Was ok a little bit to expensive for what u receive
Had a wonderful couple of hours walking around, exploring and experimenting with all the different illusions. This is a great place for all ages. After buying the tickets we were told about a range of places we could get discount at (we chose Byrons... it was ok) then given information about the camera obscura experience on the top floor. We loved the one liners and puns doled out by the guide Jamie. He was a lot of fun and enhanced our experience. Definitely recommend you to visit (plus your ticket lasts all day and you can come and go as you please)
Brilliant fun, for adults and kids, my one year old absolutely loved it, and wouldn't stop laughing and jiggling her legs all the way around. Staff are friendly, polite and helpful. There's a lot of stairs, so be prepared! The layout that's been set of for covid regulations make it really easy to ensure you don't miss anything. Really recommend.
I had an amazing time here with an event night with Google City Expert. We were looked after by the knowledgeable staff and had great fun looking at all the exhibits and mind bending illusions. I still love the room where it makes one person look tiny and the other like a giant. Loved it
Brilliant place, very entertaining and informative, lots to see, highly recommended for kids
Its was really fun to spend some time there, the staff were super friendly and helpful. I had a great time enjoying the spectacular sky view .
Kids enjoyed the time here, spent around 2 and a half hours in total. Accessible only by stairs over 6 floors
Great experience! We had lots of fun! definitely would recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh :)!
great experience for everyone. you will love the illusions and the fun with mirrors you will se inside, most definitely a place to visit
Great fun for young or old, we lost several hours exploring all the illusions. The camera obscura itself is a marvel of engineering.
Top quality attraction. Views from the roof were a nice touch.
Almost fully open. One way system around all floors. Camera obscure show not in action due to the fact you can not social distance. Multiple hand sanitizer throughout. Hugely interactive.
Really nice place to visit.. Very close to Edinburgh castle.. They give the whole day ticket.. You can come back anytime on the same day.. Come off vouchers can be found online for some discount.. Six floors of illusions.. Suits all ages..
Absolutely love the place but the price is a bit to much in my opinion.
One of the best attractions in Edinburgh. Takes around an hour and a half to do but is incredibly fun. Very good for families or groups.
The camera obscura itself is very interesting. Giving a live view over all of Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, using only mirrors that are over a hundred years old.
A fun way to pass an hour or so. Kids would definitely enjoy it
It was amazing. There where illusions which i already knew about and illusions which where really good. U can not only look but also get your hands on and try things yourself.
A really fun day out, I'll definitely return when I have visitors staying in Edinburgh. While it's quite busy there is so much to see that visitors are well dispersed. Loads of hands on activities which will appeal to all ages, it's definitely not just for kids.
Good fun day out but they let far too many people in,in one go. we missed quite a bit because too many people and trying to manover around everyone was just too much. Really expensive as well
