We were very fortunate to choose the Camelot Restaurant, on short notice, to host a large family luncheon. The covered, outdoor seating area they provided us easily accomadated our entire party of 27, well within the new guidelines for social distancing. All the employees were properly wearing masks, and following all the new guidelines. We received outstanding service and suggestions from our server Liz, and our entire group was well taken care of. The food was very good, with plentiful portions. I would highly reccomend this restaurant.

I m a local guide on Google, so hopefully you can trust my review. My wife s family lives about 30 minutes north of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. Historically, we have always stayed at Nichols Village, because we needed a hotel on the north end of Scranton, that was also pet-friendly. I never knew Camelot even existed prior to our stay for 4th of July 2019, but we will never stay anywhere else, when visiting Clarks Summit and points north. Convenient access to I-81 north and south.

Now for the hotel and restaurant. There are only 8 rooms in the hotel. The entire hotel is quaint, historical, and charming. We stayed in a Room 8, which has the only king size bed in the hotel. My wife, 2 year old Son, and Chihuahua loved it! The room itself is actually a suite with a living room and separate bedroom. The bathroom has a jetted bathtub, shower, etc. The room also has a refrigerator and microwave.

As for the restaurant, we only ate there once during our stay, but it was nice. I had fish and chips, my wife had the short-rib sandwich, and my son had chicken fingers and fries. No one left disappointed.

All in all, I stand by my 5-star rating. There aren t many pet-friendly hotels in the Scranton area, and Camelot is definitely the nicest one we have come across. Especially if you are staying in the Clarks Summit area to visit friends or family anywhere north of Scranton, especially if they live near Interstate 81. You won t be disappointed.

Thanks for a great stay!

Regards,
Bryan

My wife and I live local to the restaurant, so we decided to check it out for our anniversary. I had read some other reviews that raised concerns about the portions. I thought that perhaps maybe they weren't used to upscale dining, where you do tend to get smaller portions for better quality. I should have listened. My seafood paella was 4 clams, 4 mussels, 3 small pieces of chorizo 1 scallop, and 1 shrimp over 2 cups of rice. My wife's shrimp and clam pasta consisted of 4 clams and 2 shrimp over barely a cup of fettuccine. Both entree's we're only slightly above average quality. We also got a fried mozzarella appetizer that while delicious was only two slices no bigger than the palm of my hand. There were no sides to either entree, not even a standard side salad. This, along with my 2 beers cost over $84, not including gratuity. I will say that our waitress was very nice and the service was excellent. My wife and I paid what we owed, tipped our waitress well according to her service, and went to McDonald's because we were still hungry.

My wife and I wanted a weekend get away. We drove up to Camelot Restaurant & Inn and it was worth it! The hospitality was amazing. The people were so welcoming and friendly. It was definitely better than some of the experiences we've had at hotels. The food was delicious. Absolutely tasty. We arrived late and the kitchen had been cleaned but they were nice enough to cook something for us anyway. Everything we ate was well made, flavorful, and filling. The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is because room could have been cleaner. There was nothing extremely gross but it could have been better. Other than that, 4.75 stars!!

The dining room was full of charmingly rustic decor, low lighting and semi private tables. The food was tasty but overpriced for quality. Service of the wait staff and was excellent and kitchen staff was accommodating to finicky eaters. Didn't feel rushed despite our birthday celebration running over three hours without ordering multiple courses.

Overall, very disappointed. I stayed for 5 nights while visiting family. My room was cleaned only once (the last day), even after requesting it multiple times. Frequently there is no one around and you have to go to the bar to find someone to talk about the hotel. My sink was leaky. The bedspread was stained. Breakfast is an after-thought.

Basically, this is simply a Restaurant with some rooms for rent. Their focus is clearly on the dining area and not the living conditions.

The staff was fantastic, some of the kindest I have seen in a restaurant. We were a big party and they served us all very well. Food was pretty good but not much variety in my opinion. Overall pretty good.

Veal was absolutely disgusting. I was very polite in letting them know everything was great, but said the veal seemed off. I was then rudely told the chef said you must not have ever had fresh veal before because nobody else has complained. That will be the last time I ever go there.

Took us 1.5 hours to get our food. The reason? The kitchen had a propane issue however. I d like to add that we had been there an hour before they even mentioned anything. The food was pretentious at best. The only thing worth a dime was the entrees which were... fine? But absolutely not for the price tag. Our waitress was very slow for pretty much everything including taking our order. The chocolate drink tasted like motor oil and the skinny margarita tasted like mouthwash. The others were okay, nothing to rave about. My 9$ soup was came out lukewarm and my husbands chicken was so dry it looked like rubber.

We went up for a ski wknd at Elk.. it is about 20 min. from there but probably the best place to stay. Our room was huge - with a suite and affordable. It was spotless - so clean, I could be comfortable as if it was my own home. Very nice feel there - open entry way.. very welcoming! We didn't get a chance to try the restaurant but looked good! The breakfast had homemade muffins which were delicious!

I am highly disappointed with the lack of communication between the management and the patron and the unorganized way of the booking of the rooms. I made my reservation 2 1/2 months in advance in person. My daughter lives locally and I was going to be coming in for her wedding from another state. I received my email confirmation. Upon my arrival, the night before her wedding with my daughter. Our one last night alone together. I was told that I did not book the King Suite. I showed my reservation confirmation. They new management confirmed I did not have the room and said "I do not know what to do!!" I had booked for 3 consecutive nights. They gave my room away to another bride & groom. I made the suggestion that the room stay with the current bride but that we could take a different room for this first night and then switch for the other two nights. No Problem! Good idea! Why did I have to come up with a solution? The next night, the night of my daughters wedding (Sunday) they arrived to find the doors locked and could not get in it was 10:00pm ! Thank goodness another wedding guest was also staying at the Inn. They got dressed and came down to let my daughter and her groom in! My frustration is in the fact that we were never told that the doors will be locked after a certain time. Never given a door key. We had to move all of our belongings from one room to another, because they were "too busy" and they never not one time mentioned in anything in person or online that there is not breakfast available!! It is a Inn with a full kitchen and bar and it is not open to the room paying guests, even for an hour I the morning. Are you kidding me!!! This inn is in the middle of the woods! Where do they think you are supposed to break your fast? On the meager muffins the put in your room the night before. The rooms are average, not worth the cost of $160 per night when you cannot even lay in bed and watch tv, or in a comfortable chair to watch in the in suite. They give you powdered cream for your coffee that you have to make yourself, When there is a refrigerator in the room where fresh cream could be placed. This is an inn, it is supposed to be a step up form a hotel!!! The new management and owners needs to stay in each room and find the flaws before they book any more guests! Truly unhappy!

Rooms are clean and nice looking. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room only had 2 rustic wood chairs to sit in. Not really comfortable to relax in. Large bathroom, clean and fairly new - except for the shower head that was malfunctioning. Website advertised refrigerator in rooms, but there weren't any.

My rating here is not actually for the restaurant but the room. It was cozy and clean, and though small it was a good price and in a quiet area, almost in the country. The free breakfast was pretty much just a muffin and juice, however the restaurant was hopping at night. The staff was obliging and trustful. So if you want a pretty calm place to stop at on a trip it's good but you won't find much in the way of entertainment nearby. Certainly no amenities.

I received a warm welcome the as soon as I arrived! Friendly smiling faces mean so much when I am away from home. The Camelot Inn is beautiful, clean and has a warm welcoming charm. The rooms are not just clean and comfortable but are also filled with decor and supplies that provide an upscale experience for the guest.

The highlight of this restaurant is the new ownership. On a busy saturday night we chatted with the owner. He was taking orders to tables, Checking staff and talking to diners. The new life in this business is so well received by the locals and visitors alike. The energy among staff is high and food is delicious. Amazing turn around on this excellent location.
