Top notch for nature lovers 5 to 105. Paved trails between items of interest. Birds of Prey exhibit is an excellent display of raptors up close and in flight. With Christmas upon us, check out the drive through light display. Also available, the open air tram that takes you through the light exhibit. Bring warm blankets as they are very nice to keep your legs warm. Sorta like a hay ride without the mess. Expensive though... $24 per person. But there is plenty to do in main building. Many vendors selling peanut butter to hand sewn crafts. Don't forget to taste the hot coco!

We went for Fantasy in lights which was wonderful. Everyone we spoke to that worked there was very friendly. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is a pricey trip every time we go to Calloway Gardens.

I was recently able to stay in Callaway Gardens with a few friends of mine, to celebrate some quality work done over our previous semester in college! The location was absolutely stunning!

Although we dedicated a lot of time to sleeping, we managed to make time to walk around the Gardens, and even spent a few hours riding bikes one day! The Gardens are beautiful, and there are so many things to see! The Butterfly Center, a breathtaking chapel, and plenty of wildlife! It is truly a fantasy location!

If you and your friends/family are looking for a quiet weekend away with a nice combination of comfort and nature, you would be very happy in Callaway!

We have never been to Callaway in the spring. Although we really want to see the Gardens in the spring we always associate Callaway with the Fantasy in Lights. We go every two years and have been for about 10 years now. We always have a blast and there are a lot of things to do to keep you busy.

We went to Callaway Gardens to spend time there and see the Labor Day balloon glow. Unfortunately, the wind was too high for the balloon glow. We walked around from the beach to the butterfly center and back. Callaway Gardens has something to do year round. The Fantasy in Lights is fantastic. It never disappoints, although it is the same every year. Take the trolley ride so you don't have to worry about driving through and missing anything. It was voted one of the top 10 Christmas lights shows in the country for a reason. It's only a short drive from Columbus, Newnan or Atlanta and well worth it.

Attended with a 5th grade field trip as a chaperone. We visited the butterfly house which seemed short of butterflies, had a nice walk through the azalea bowl and chapel, and attended a nice presentation with a barred owl. Great place, no complaints. The kids loved it.

Located North of Columbus, GA. Nice paved bike trails. Bike rentals available. Water skiing was fun. Other options are wakeboarding, knee boarding, and tubing. Pool and hot tub here. Beautiful Flora. Wild life. Golfing. Ziplining. Treetop adventure course. So far a good time.

We went strictly the Christmas lights and it was a huge let down. So many things that should have moved didnt and many lights were out. ( Hello it's a light show ) we did more driving too the lights then actually seeing the lights. The course of lights was spaced out WAY SPACED OUT more darkness then lights. We would not return and would not recommend to anyone unless your taking a child under the age of 5 that just loved lights and does not fully understand the work that didn't go into the lights that should have. Included with our pass to the light show was admission into the park and the butterfly center was amazing (hence the 2 stars)

The only reason I m giving 2 stars is because the room was clean and room service was prompt. Arrival: when we arrived at 4pm there was a line of at least 20 ppl waiting to check in. More than half of them waited patiently only to find out that their rooms / cottages were not currently ready. We were lucky. Dinner: we were asked if we had a reservation but clearly did not need them. Once we were sat we noticed that the other three families nearby had not received food but had clearly been waiting a substantial amount of time. We decided to be polite and patient but suffered the same fate anyways. Our server informed us, after we put in our appetizers, that the kitchen was backed up. I asked how long it would be but she clearly had no idea. How is the kitchen not prepared? They can surely find out how many reservations the lodge is expecting. A family of 6 in the corner booth seemed to be quite upset. When I inquired why, they informed me that they arrived at 330 to check into a cottage at 4. It was 7 pm and they still did not have accommodations. In addition, they had waited an hour + to get their entrees. I m sure they won t be back. The food was actually pretty good once it arrived. However, even after a manager came to apologize, we were offered no discount, no gift card, no nothing! Full price. Even a small offering would have gone a long way. The lights: don t attempt to change the time of your tickets without assurance that you will receive the proper tickets on the night of. We waited in line for 30 minutes before we were told that even though we had an email confirmation, we would have to go back to will call and have new tickets printed off. This added 45 minutes to our wait and was absolutely unacceptable. I m certain that if you ve gotten this far In this review you are thinking, just suck it up. That would have happened if we weren t traveling with our 10 month old baby. SAVE YOUR $$. This place is poorly managed and we will never return. 4 Star...Ha! What a joke.

Had a great experience at the Callaway Lodge and Spa. Cason's offers a good selection of bourbon, whiskey and beer. I tried the Cason craft beer and it was great. The also serve American fare. The hotel has very well appointed, contemporary rooms. Mine had two comfortable queen sized beds and a balcony overlooking the forest. The stay included admission to all exhibits. The conference room is a little cramped and has a disturbing echo in the back. The resteraunt was nice and I liked the staff. Most of the food I really liked but the buffet was limited and some of it was neither fresh nor hot, in fact I was sick the next day after eating some of the more questionable items. Next time I'll eat out. One more thing, the fridge in my room was noisey and kept waking mebup in the middle of the night. If you found this review helpful please click like.

It was really nice. We had went there and seen their birds of prey demonstration which was cool because they gave facts about the birds I didn't even know and explained how useful those birds are in the wild. We also went to the butterfly place and seen a LOT of different kinds of butterflies with many different colors... Got to see a turtle eat a butterfly too (I didn't even know they did that) Overall it was a neat place to go. Would recommend going here as a place to go over a weekend.

Wish we had stayed at the Lodge. Management & maintenance over here is questionable. Had a problem that I reported early one morning and had to chase down people multiple times over the day to take care of it. Finally a cleaner I complained to took care of it.

Also - the wood on the walkway needed to either be replaced or filled and painted and the branches on top of it look like they had been there for years... not up to Callaway standards...

Love this place. Great as a vacation spot or day trip. The day butterfly center is just beautiful. If you want a real holiday treat for the family go see the Festival of Lights and Santa's Village and by all means take the Jolley Trolley if you are able, it is the best way to enjoy the lights and find the spirit of Christmas. It is mesmerizing!

So much to do and not enough time. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Beautiful landscapes and changes almost daily. Always something to look at and we watched butterflies hatching. The butterfly house is fascinating.

We are here currently. Fantasy in Lights is great and does get you in the Christmas spirit but tickets are a bit pricey for the amount of lights you actually see. A lot of the displays blink on and off but the trolley goes by too quickly to actually enjoy. We are staying in the lodge and the room is nice but the sheets are cheap and scratchy. It is a decent trip over all but definitely pricey. Also avoid the restaurant Spirit 52. Way too high priced (even for a resort) and service/wait time was not good at all.

It was amazing, there were expansive views and the ziplining was amazing. We went on the moonlight zip course. (Its only available 4 times a year) Definitely recommend (oh and do me a favour, if you go to the ziplining booth where they sell tickets and you sign up, look at the counter part and look for the word "meatballs" scratched into the wood. Sorry, a funny request) I hope you have a fun time and check out all the views!

We've been to Callaway Gardens a number of times over the last ten years. It is a wonderful weekend getaway for the family looking to see Georgia's natural beauty at its best. We always come during the winter season to visit with Santa and experience Fantasy in Lights. The resort has made some small changes over the past years including closure of the North gate and the horticulture center. Some of it's cottages have been updated inside and all have new outside decks But their Fantasy in Lights always delivers. Be sure to take the time to explore the bike/running trails and just enjoy the beauty of nature.

Not so pretty when we went in March 2014, but it was obvious that it is gorgeous later in the Spring.

The motel part was less than expected- about the same as a Days Inn. Maybe stay somewhere else and drive in.

The Bird Show at Callaway Gardens is really a "Five Star Show", but the audience has outgrown the small venue used for this show. It's time to grow the venue, especially now that social distancing is required. Too many people had to stand outside the venue to watch from a distance. The venue should be upgraded to accommodate a larger audience.
