My daughter just graduated from Cal U. She had an excellent experience and enjoyed her 4 yrs there. She has continued to a masters program at Pitt and has had no trouble finding work or getting accepted into other programs. All universities function in a similar way and it's up to the student to take advantage of all the opportunities that the school offers. Frankly, I see Cal U as an extremely good value that all students should consider before getting into crazy debt at other universities.

The Global online program seems like a convenient and good move but depending on your program, you may just end up wasting time and money or accruing debt that you cant pay back. The only thing you can do with the Masters degrees in rehab and exercise science is be a personal trainer...and you can do that without getting a fake masters degree.

I am a sophomore in high school. My parents both went here, many years ago!, and enjoyed it. As I m becoming older and almost a junior, I believe this would be my best option. So hopefully I ll be here in about two years.

How about instead of including river lot parking w...

How about instead of including river lot parking when you host events and telling the students who pay $100 per semester for parking to park at the stadium and take the flyer to campus, you have your guests park at the stadium and bus them to campus? It's ridiculous how you charge so much for parking, yet there is never anywhere to park when there are campus events. Your students should be the priority when it comes to parking, regardless of whoever is visiting and whatever event. It's also very inconsiderate to students, especially those who may be running late to class. Not everyone has a schedule that allows them enough time to get to get there earlier "just in case." If I am going to spend $100 per semester for a parking permit, I expect to park on campus. Also, when are you going to do something about the Vulcan Garage? It's been broken for the past 3 years and absolutely nothing has been done about it. I was told that it would be fixed once it's proven to be stable. How is it supposed to get stable if absolutely NOTHING has been done to fix it since it broke down?! How about instead of spending my tuition money on new computers and unnecessary construction, you fix the garage! Another thing, it is in the middle of nowhere. Nothing to do in that town. Unless you don't mind that, I suggest you look elsewhere for schooling. Other than that, education is great, staff is great, and it has been an okay experience so far.

Also, another thing that boils my blood is the unfair distribution of funds to the different campus organizations. I just saw the April 2019 allocations. All of the sports teams and bigger organizations got tons of money. I am a social work student. I am not an active member of the Bachelor of Social Work Association (BSWA), but it is the club for social work students on campus. The BSWA requested $1800. What did they get? $85. $85 OUT OF AN $1800 REQUEST!! What on Earth are they supposed to do with that?! No wonder they can't do anything!! Yet the sports teams got more than last year! The BSWA got even LESS!! Absolutely ridiculous!!

Caylacakes1 is right. Don't waste your money at this school. I signed up for an online class for the Spring 2017 semester and dropped after several weeks. Professor was a joke. It took days to get a reply after an assignment was submitted. There was no guidance about assignments and then when you asked a question the reply was just as vague. Had a 98% on first assignment and then next grade dropped to an 80% without any explanation for it. I asked specifically what was wrong with it and the professor had trouble trying to convey the answer. The low grade seemed like retaliation for asking questions. I found the professor to be immature, spiteful, and unprepared to teach. I am still fighting with the university for a full refund. It was nothing more than a very expensive correspondence course.

I believe this is a good school. I think I got a good graduate level education here. The tuitions are reasonable. Being in a less urban area, it is usually easier to find parking than the university where I completed my undergraduate degree. Another nice feature is that alumni can get extremely reasonable rates for continued membership in the fitness center.

do not go here if you intend to go into anything drafting related. i left feeling i gained no knowledge. everything was extremely dated, and very very basic. some great teachers and such for a small school if you like that vibe. but like i said engineering/cad, do the right thing and go to a branch penn state school or something. similar prices but a way better education. all my hs tech teachers went there so I followed and i left knowing not much more than i did in HS when it came to CAD.

The majority (most not all) of the staff currently employed put in the minimum amount of effort to see the students succeed and it's really sad. Many of my fellow classmates and I have never felt like a priority to some teachers and other members of the offices at the University. Some of the staff honestly make me feel like a burden.

I graduated in 1971 with a degree in education. My training was excellent, far superior to the other institutions I experienced over the years. I am grateful for the preparation for teaching that I received at Cal. U.
