The complimentary 30min consult sounded good when I was thinking about selling my practice. It took several calls from me before the lawyer took the time to call me back. He did not have useful advice.
This organization does amazing work to help animals and veterinary professionals in California. They are constantly working to provide factual information to legislators and government agencies and they have an incredible volunteer group of veterinary professionals who donate their services to animals in disasters.
I'm glad we have this organization, however, their web page is not at all user friendly and nothing worked on my cell phone. In this day and age, they really should be set up with an awesome web page and so that a member can do everything from their cell phones! It's time to fire their IT person or company and get one that can produce results! We are waiting!
Called CVMA Sacramento with a question about hazardous waste disposal. They verified we were members then handed us off to one of their staff doctors who was very polite, informative and answered all our questions. Thanks CVMA!
About a year ago a client came to my practice and revealed that she knew personal information about me and my family. Turns out, the client's daughter is/was an employee of CVMA. The CVMA employee apparently looked up my personal information in their files and shared it with her mother. I was very, very concerned about this and will never, ever join CVMA or patronized them in future. They seem to have a problem with ensuring the confidentiality of personal data. At the time of this incident, I was not a member of CVMA, apparently my personal information was retained by the organization and then revealed without my permission. Unethical in opinion.
Not compassionate about pets. They support K9 captive closed colony blood banks where a 1000 dogs and some cats are suffering as blood slaves.
California needs to ban this inhumane and cruel business. Volunteer blood donation programs are humane and successful in other states. California is the only state to have closed colony blood banks. Change is needed.
The women on the phone was very rude. She didn t answer my questions and simply replied with you can google it. Then hung up on me. Really unprofessional of a professional association to act in such a way.
