Appeal for a ticket did not give reason or back up just that they are the city so just pay up. Total cash grab just to keep their fleet of parking officers. There's no one downtown anymore so watch out residents anything to keep themselves employed.

If you have a monthly parking pass downtown, it would be nice if that came with a few hours of street parking downtown. It would be convenient I think and a great show of client appreciation.
BE AWARE AT CTRAIN PARKING LOTS New low for you CPA. Thank you for my $40 ticket today for backing into a stall. Yes I realize there is signage saying I cannot do that. the Signage was put there in 2009 when it was mandatory to pay for parking so backing in to stalls was not allowed as explained in the media in 2009 as follows: " The park-and-ride lots fall under the city's new ParkPlus system, which uses cameras, mounted on a car, to monitor licence plates of parked vehicles. Officers do not walk around to check the plates. "If you back into a stall, that licence plate can't be seen by the mobile photo-enforcement unit and, indeed, we're not able to actually seek the licence plate or affect an outcome," said Dale Fraser, general manager of the Calgary Parking Authority." Fast forward to 2018. You no longer have to pay for parking in the stalls where me and many others were ticketed today. There really is no reason to ticket other than an out right MONEY grab. I can't be bothered to go and waste my time to fight this ticket and I am sure you are banking on that. Maybe I will just chance it and ride the train for free until I get my $40 dollars back.
Update: go to pay on line and these rip off artists want an additional $3 for offering me this convenience. I don't know how you people get away with this.
Won t waste my time to contact CPA. They not helpful at all. I suspected a car parked on the street for long time and expired sticker from last year. Called Calgary parking authority and gave them the license plate and the vehicle s color and model. I asked them if they can check and see if the car is stolen or not. I also asked if the car belongs to someone in this area. That person who was talking to me on the phone is telling me, they can t do that and I have to call the police station.
Parking tickets are just taxes. I got a parking ticket for street sweeping after they had already done it (the day before), I got a ticket for parking my commercial pickup truck in front of my house, because there is no way of getting a parking tag for it, it is just taxes, and they aren't interested in helping out. This is the worst kind of taxes. I'd rather just pay more taxes and have less government employees (traffic cops, parking authority, etc)
The safety of their customers is of no priority to this company. If this company were selling a product, they would have taken my concern way more seriously, but since they make money regardless of how safe their customers are, they don't care.
There was an industrial garbage bin blocking the entrance to the lot, placed in the wrong spot by an unknowing garbage collector in the alley.
I told CPA and they said it's not their problem. City bylaw requires clear vehicle access to the lot - not clear pedestrian access to the lot. They said to use a different entrance or call the city. Me. Not them. Me.
But this is the only entrance that's wheelchair accessible - I said - and it's blocked. They said they are not breaking any bylaw and therefore will not take any measure to have the bin moved.
The next day a garbage picker in the bin was throwing treasure out of it and I was hit in the head with a pair of scissors.
I asked CPA again to do something to ensure the safety of their customers. They said legally they don't have to do anything. I asked to see the bylaws that state this, and requested an update to the bylaw and they never responded.
In the end, I called the city, I called the garbage company, I had the bin moved and wheelchair access to their precious lot was once again restored.
No thanks to this self-serving company that has no right to attach the name Calgary to it - a city that works hard to serve their community members. This company does not.
pretty much a city operated scam. They'll steal your car with no notice then charge you $250 to get it back; don't forget the $40 a day fee! Which is really convenient because they don't notify you that your car is at the impound lot. They have concrete benches inside like a jail cell. It's funny because they steal your car, make you pay absurds amount of money and then treat you like the criminal.
Terrible covid19 procedures! Make people wait outside for literally hours in the extreme heat, no bathroom access (they've locked them to visitors) and very slow, inadequate customer service. There are much better way to deal with covid19 issues and still treat people with respect. At least put a port-a-potty outside!
Our crew is working on a job site and even if our client does add our vehicles on the visitors parking daily we still getting tickets. After the 3rd ticket I did submit an appeal and has been decline by saying that out client had use the 2 visitors parking, that is not possible because we are the only one using the parking. I email them back by saying that we do have gps record of all our vehicles and we didn't had more than 2 vehicles on this address on that day but without providing any evidence they still saying that we had more than 2 visitors register. Now I can we ever know how many vehicles are register? Even worst I had ask to advice us on how I can prevent my guys from getting tickets since that we will be working on this site for other 2 months, and they simply did ignore my request. Today I did receive a phone call that with no explanation whatsoever she did repeat me the same false statement. When I ask to speak with the supervisor she did refuse to put him thru, and when I ask the supervisor name and number she was rude and she did refuse again. What a horrible service and horrible staff, I'm stunned.
Parking authority are complete snakes, they make up any little infraction so they can give out those 40 dollar bangers hoping people pay without question... I own a business if I find out you are a parking authority employee, you don't get any services from me or my staff... What goes around, comes around.
EDIT * Please see my latest review under Jamal. This ticket was cancelled and for months i had no issues when suddenly they decided it was an issue again.
I got a parking ticket for parking too close to the intersection, I have a picture of my unmoved car exactly how it sat at the time of the ticket attached to this review. Can you please explain to me the rules for parking near an intersection and how I violated them?
Gladly will adjust my review with a good response,
Insult to injury (I know it sounds ridiculous) but the parking authority officer saw me park here then drove off, parked about a block away. At this point I went inside and came out to find a ticket (could have easily told me not park there.)
Update- I Appreciate the response and have no problem paying a legitimate ticket but I honestly feel there is no grounds for a ticket here. (there is a stop sign across the street but nothing on the side I parked! ) I already emailed an appeal with the picture I took and its been days not hearing back.
Final Update- So CPA reviewed my ticket, and decided to cancel it. Which is great! A little concerning what the officer was thinking issuing the ticket in the first place, I have been watching that same parking spot and seen others getting a very similar ticket....oh well I won't be parking there anymore
Garbage sevices....my tax money is going to the most useless department. My neighbor has four car and they keep one car to block the spot for themselves. At times for weeks.Called the city few times but no one showed up on the top of that they say we will investigate and get back to you in 5weeks. feel cheated and deprived of my rights.
I wanted to thank the Parking Authority and City Wide Towing as we needed their services last night, a Friday night with our 2 grand kids to come home to someone parked in our parkade stall - the call attendant was very helpful as was the person dispatched to confirm things and my husband checked the car was there a few times - when the tow truck arrived the car was gone?? The tow truck driver was very polite and checked if things took too long which we confirmed everything was done very professionally and reasonable times - so thank you all for a wonderful service!! Bobbi
Nothing like working hard all day to support a family, paying for parking that same day while working, and coming back to a 200$ ticket for a simple mistake... thanks CPA, nice to know the city is still pulling in money from those few people risking their health and working during this covid outbreak.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. They go out of their way to give tickets to meet their monthly quota. Even got a ticket right outside their location for parking there for 2 minutes to go inside and pay a previous ticket. They also go out of their way at Brentwood Station to ticket all students that park there even if they are using the Park and Ride. Horrible and a scam of an organization.
OK this one kind of pissed me off. I was coming in for the last night of Stampede, thought I would try to save myself a little on parking and so parked on Spiller road where hundreds of other vehicles were already parked. I didn't think this would be a big deal because I see these long lineups of cars parked there every year. I got there around 7pm and stayed will after 11. When I walked to the end of the lineup where I was parked, to my surprise my vehicle was not there. I was carrying two boxes with gel pillows I had gotten at Stampede, so this was the last thing I needed. I talked to a couple people who said they had been towing vehicles and then saw a tow truck driver pulling up behind a car. I went over and talked to him and he confirmed he had recently towed a Ford Explorer. I asked him why and he said it was a "no stopping zone." I thought they would at least have the grace not to enforce rules like this during Stampede, since so many people come to park on that road, but I guess I was wrong. I got the address from him of where the yard was and he said I had until midnight to get there, which was 8 min away. I asked him to radio them to let them know I was coming, since I knew I couldn't walk there in that time. I could have ran there but had the two boxes I was carrying. So I walked briskly (about 1.1km) and got there about 12:05. Knocked on the door, ignored me and went up to the bay but was told "the rules apply for everyone." They didn't care that I was from out of town, they just wanted to use this opportunity to make money from impounding my vehicle. I then called in to the number and was told that they had no one working at night to release vehicles. As far as I was concerned this was a lie, since they clearly had people working there. If they have staff impounding vehicles, they should also be able to release them. So I had to walk to a nearby hotel and get a room for the night (which cost $145), then come back in the morning. I expected to be charged about $100-120 for towing & storage for <12 hrs, but was surprised that my bill was $176 + a $40 parking ticket. This was really unjust, especially considering that the guy only had to tow my vehicle about 1Km! So basically instead of paying $20 for Stampede parking (which I should have done), I ended up about $350 out of pocket for the room, impound & parking ticket. This definitely wasn't a very nice thing to do, to say the least. I am self-employed and so had the flexibility to stay there and pick my vehicle up, but someone from out of town like me (I live about 160Km away) could be massively inconvenienced if they had to be at work the next morning. They might have to take a bus to their hometown and then come back on the weekend to get their car, by which time there could be an extra $200+ in impound fees owing. At least the staff I dealt with in the daytime were half-decent people. I wasn't angry at them personally, but the system that seems to be flawed, and a money-grab.
Had two tickets that got mailed to me, even though I paid. I went through their appeal process and the tickets were voided as they made a mistake. They need to fix their automated machine that takes pictures of your license plate. Appeal process involves showing proof of payment by giving them your credit card info, reason why your appealing etc... I hate going through the hassle. Make sure you all check your tickets clearly before paying the fine.
AWFUL I had to visit the Parking Authority to renew some parking passes and needed to park so I entered the Calgary Parking Authority parkade. At the entrance there is no ticket issued instead it says to park and visit a park plus machine and enter your licence plate number as you would when parking on the street. I proceeded to park on the 5th floor then took an elevator to the ground floor and put my credit card in the park plus pay machine and was told that it could not read my card. I went into the Calgary parking authority office and explained my circumstance and they said that I would have to pay at a different machine. I tried 2 more time and still being told that my card could not be read although I use the card on a regular basis. I returned to my vehicle, left the parkade and proceeded to call the parking authority contact phone number which ofcourse took me to a computerized voice maze. When I finally spoke with a human they told me that I would have to purchase a day pass online (at $27) to avoid receiving a ticket. If they just put a pay plus system at the entrance this would never happen. I feel I have been SCAMMED as I was willing to pay and wasted my time trying to pay then being charged for a whole day when I was in the parkade for no more than 20 minutes.
The parking at the zoo is broken. Always get a ticket there, even though I pay. I then appeal the ticket, which you can't do on their mobile site, only a desktop. The lack of customer service on the phone left me little guidance as how to appeal something that seems to be a systemic problem.
The Parking Authority should really do there due diligence. They would give parking tickets on a street with inadequate signage, but would rather continue to give that ticket instead of fixing the problem. My community have been getting numerous tickets on the same street for parking as a one way street, and for parking as a two way street. I've called 311 regarding the road, and it looks like they were also confused if the street on 33rd ave and 22nd street in Marda loop should be a one way or two way. I've been getting different answers from different people, including the cops in regards to this situation. I called in to CPA (Calgary Parking Authority) and talked to someone in regards to this issue, but they rather fight for saying they are correct and instead of finding a solution to solve this problem for residence. I had to go through multiple departments to now try and get extra signage up. The Traffic department got back to me and said that they will not be putting signs up on how to park. And said I shouldn't be driving if I don't know the traffic law. I questioned the traffic technician and said "does that mean the cops shouldn't drive either because they told me differently." and he comes back with "No, I guess not". The Traffic technician called CPA and have followed up with CPA and they agree on how parking should be. Of course traffic department and CPA will work together in regards to this situation.
The guy definitely felt like he was getting frustrated with me, and making me feel like I'm incompetent. All I asked for is extra signage as there has been confusions on this street. Telling me that you have worked there for x many of years, does not mean that you are correct. It just comes down to not willing to learn or listen to something that can be improved on.
CPA is working under The City of Calgary, which I believe it should be there duties to bring this up to the Roads department or whichever department this situation should be escalate to and find a solution. But instead they would rather fight back and say they are right in a situation where there is a grey area.
CPA themselves have voided some of these tickets and won't void other for the same reason. I don't think they have a great process in place and should figure there internal problems instead of letting people who live in Calgary feel like they have no authority to try and improve there own community.
We got 2 tickets for parking when they were doing street cleaning. Sign says may 25th and may 28th
Had all vehicles moved off road on the 24th. Streets got cleaned the following day on the 25th. I reparked my vehicles outside my residence the day after the clean. The parking police came by on the 28th and gave my vehicles tickets even after they were cleaned. Even in the violation pictures you can clearly see the streets were "spotless".
After receiving the tickets yesterday (June 11 in the mail), I went down to appeal it. Turns out I have to wait to get a "yellow piece of paper" before anything can be done. Wasted my time, gas and 8 dollars for parking (which goes to the same people that ticketed me). Something is really wrong with this system. Plus it was $80 per ticket, x2= $160. What a joke.
For three weeks now I have parked in the same spot for the same hours and the same days. Surprisingly today I got a ticket for parking in the same spot where it was apparently prohibited parking from Monday-Friday. I am furious because this ticket would have been avoidable if there was adequate signage on 4432 Richardson Rd SW.
I find this ticket I got today pretty interesting on how the city works. 2nd Ave NW had street cleaning signs out for about one week to get cleaned to give people notice to move their vehicle of that street to be cleaned. It was to be cleaned today 4/15/16. Sufficient notice to move your car. I'm parked on 4A ST. NW the past two days which I had a visitor parking pass on my truck. They had street parking signs on it three weeks ago or so to be cleaned and they gave people about a week notice to move vehicles which I did at that time. THE STREET WAS ALREADY CLEANED THREE WEEKS AGO... I wasn't able to make it to get my truck yesterday and I was going to get my truck today and it was moved a block away from where the truck was originally parked. I was like what is going on. I found out from one of the neighbors that they put signs up last night 4/14/16 to clean 4A St. That makes no sense since 4A street was already cleaned THREE WEEKS AGO. I guess this city cleans every street more than once. Wow what a waste of money to clean streets twice, wait they put signs up the night before to catch people and give tickets to so they can collect money to clean them twice. What a great system to screw people. If they are going to clean a street again I would figure they would give people at least a few days notice and not 14 hours or so notice. I'm very disappointed that I have to pay $80 because they didn't give people notice that they were cleaning the street again. I'm not the only one that got a ticket and car moved on 4A ST.
ParkPlus system doesn't recognize my zoo membership ID, so I can't leverage the free parking benefit of my membership. Why does CPA feel the need to extort the citizens of Calgary at every opportunity?
According to Miss Aissatou and all the other lovely staff of Calgary parking authority, it's now legal to not only park on the grass but you can park on public land and make your own driveway out of it. Now nobody can park on the city street. 3 times parking authority has come by and not only did nothing, they ticketed us for parking on a city street. This is what happens when you have women and minority quotas, you recieve pure incompetence. Pathetic city this is.
Amazing, had a vehicle parked in my condo spot for 3 days, called to To Report an Illegally Parked Vehicle, the Officer 'Brittany" called me and was very courteous, she explained that she couldn't help me because my condo property wasn't signed properly unless the vehicle is stolen, well Brittany checked for me and it was actually stolen. She had the stolen vehicle removed from my stall and was very informative. She made my day!
Although the big shots down at the CPA think the "conveniently located" pay boxes are indeed conveniently located, they are not. There is one on most corners but if it's broken or won't take your toonies, then you have to walk sometimes two more blocks to find one. By this time the car has come by and given you a ticket so frankly the machine thing sucks. Period. There is no redeeming feature of these difficult to use, difficult to find machines. Unfortunately, the CPA just plain don't care and will give a ticket even if it's crappy machine doesn't work or you can't find one that does. For this to work properly they would need at least 2 on every corner and despite the millions they make every year off this, they just don't give a damn about the customer. I feel for vistors who come to this city just to be baffled by these stupid machines that just will not work for them. OK, so you say why don't you just get an account and pay that way? In order for you to do that you would need to go the main building downtown where it's impossible to find a parking spot, and if you do find one pay for the spot on the machine, then go into the building where there are also rarely parking available, and pay for your parking. True, this is much more convenient but an enormous pain to set up and useless for anyone who doesn't live here or rarely use it. Parking would be greatly eased if they would just paint lines for cars on the roads again. but NO, that costs money and if the boss don't get his bonus, heads will roll. Furthermore, no one cares or wants to hear about your concerns. You are constantly reminded you will be tasered and beaten if you raise your voice in the office and they will tell you point blank they dont' care and you should just conform like a good zombie. I give them the one star for the text to park portion and all the rest is just a pain.
Just got a ticket in the mail for failure to pay for parking. The worst part is, I did pay for parking... I was ticketed in the 60-odd seconds it took me to get from my car to the pay station. Hell, the ticket has a photo of me leaving my vehicle to go to the pay station.
I MEAN, REALLY?!?! What's the point in paying for parking if you're going to ticket me before I can even pay.
Only a couple pay machines operational, they have cut costs dramatically, only one charging station per city parkade, it's a battle everyday. Homeless sneak into the stairwells, sad to see. Had a couple having a few pops by my car, nice guys. Security looks like they doing their best. City Council isint spending their tax dollars on anything to do with motor vehicles. PPE masks throughout the floor and stairwells walking to my car.
They charge you an extra $3 to pay your ticket online, which saves them time and money, saves you from using gas and waiting in a lineup for hours. They also target LRT parking lots which are just citizens trying to make it to work. They never demonstrate professional judgement.
I am actually appalled by the conduct of the CPA. The passenger loading zone near our school has not been plowed at all. Cars can hardly pass by. The sign for the drop off zone is 5 to 8 feet away from the edge of the cross walk. My mother and father brought my daughter to school today. The individual (for lack of a better word that would teeder on slander) was aggressive, ignorant. They pulled pass the cross walk, and waited for the cars to move out of the drop off zone. Since they were not moving, my mother got out of the car with my daughter. You can't park closer to the curb as the City of Calgary has not plowered at all since we started getting snow. I did get my dad to take me up and took picture of this morning (1hr after the incident). The individual didn't even have the decency to speak to my father, who is a visitor to our province while I attended classes this semester, in a calm manner and explain anything to my mother and father what exactly he is recording. There was no citation or anything, no one piece of paper was given to my father, he wrote something down. My mom and dad were dropping off my daughter is the drop off zone, which is covered with ice about 2 feet from the edge of the curb. The individual saw my mom get out of the vehicle with my daughter; he wad looking at her and started to write down something. My father asked "Are you giving me a ticket?". He proceeded to walk away. My father said to him, we are dropping off in the drop off zone. All he did was walk away from my father and said "My mind is made up". Fine, you want to record the information for a citation, at least have the decency and common sense to explain or speak to someone. I'm ready if a citation, cause it WILL be appealed.
These people are certified snakes. I left my car parked for no longer than 4 minutes and in the 4 minutes the parking became a tow away zone and in those 4 minutes my car had been towed and was no where to be seen. It's like they have someone hiding behind each corner of the building creeping on whoever is parking.
The city is now on its knees because they didn't have somebody smart enough to handle their finances and now they have stooped so low that they bend their own rules and go out of their away to snake hard working citizens like me. This whole scheme is on a very low level.
Continually ticketed for "remaining in a space longer than time purchased" despite the fact the car was not parked in a paid zone. Every time the tickets were cancelled but it keeps happening. Camera cars will issue tickets to anyone even parked legally knowing plenty of people will just pay the fee rather than fight the ticket.
My neighbor upstairs has a handicapped spot in front of our house..I'm literally calling EVERYDAY to get someone out here to ticket vehicles. I don't think people can see the sign properly but try explaining that to these guys who seem pretty blase' about it More like .."we'll get there when we get there."
They will write you tickets in free parking lots, where they have kept the signs up high and out of place, to a nearly unnoticeable degree, completely convoluted, for ridiculous things like backing into a parking stall. The worst part of this; it is statistically proven to be safer to back into a parking stall, you remediate the likelihood of backing into another car coming down the laneway, or backing over a child or pedestrian that you cannot see beyond the shoulders of the cars parked next to you. they knowingly understand they are forming taxation without backing, however at this juncture, it is a sad day to see that The CPA looks to earn bottom line over the safety of human beings.
My car was parked in my building parking lot in a reserved Rosso's spot, after the place was closed. I had been told by an employee not only that I was very much free to park there anytime, also any time after close was completely fine as they were only reserved for hours they are opened. To further is stupidity, I have sat on hold for almost an hour trying to talk to someone about getting my tow money back, as not only did they say they towed from a reserved numbered spot in my building, which it is most certainly not. Again furthering this, any time we call for someone parked in OUR reserved spot, another's, or where someone is not suppose to be parked, it takes hours; I have called vehicles in and they have not been touched for days! Then, they only receive a ticket. Extremely unimpressed by CPA. Will be fighting for a review of them, as apparently they are incompetent, and obviously, I am not the only one.
Then, not to mention the slight damage on my vehicle, and the second time I have been incorrectly ticket and towed. ( first was for street cleaning, but I was on vacation, checked online to see if they were cleaning, said no, so left it)
I left a bad review long ago, and Ynow they ve really stepped their game up. Their app slaps and they gave me a warning instead of a ticket. Y all are doing a good job
Really Calgary do you have nothing else better to do then Petty tickets for unhook trailers left in backyard for 2 hours bunch of unprofessional immature childish idiots.
Maybe the parking guys and gals can patrol Rideau Place more often. People like parking in no parking zones all the time because they know they will get away with it. I once told one of your officers about parking issues, and he simply gave me a business card and was told to call the number........
I live in Sunnyside, we require a residential permit to park in front of our apartment building, all that is fine. Where I get upset is I would like to have access to a visitor pass. But in order to get one you must be borrowing the vehicle from someone and send in to Calgary parking authority (via scanned documents) registration, a letter from the person you are borrowing the vehicle from stating its ok (easily forged, if you really want, so pointless to prove anything), current bill with your address and name on it (I already have a residential pass so why must I prove again that I live there). I am surprised they are not asking for blood samples. Also thanks to COVID they are not in the office and I am sorry but if the fine folks at Subway can make it in to work, I think a CPA clerk will fare just as well in these new environments, I mean we are all wearing masks now, so no excuse for such awful customer service. And I know there is a website I can go and give feed back to CPA, but lets be honest they are government run and it shows and no suggestions made will ever be used and if you really want my feed back CPA then just take it from this review!!!
I have been trying to to apply for a residential parking permit for a month now but keep getting denied because i live in a basement suite and apparently is not recognized by them. While I'm getting denied they're still issuing parking tickets to my vehicle even though I live at the address. Absolutely ridiculous!
I understand how people get so frustrated with them, I went in to get a parking pass for my car and I was told they couldn't find my address and they would send out Roads to research why my address and then when I went back after the 2 weeks and I was told something completely different, this resulted in me getting sevral parking tickets not impressed.
I love the Calgary Parking Authority. They get you in every way. I love the convenience fee option. They allow me to pay more for something I really love. Need to stop, it's too exciting.
So annoyed by these people had my boat towed one time. Claimed that it was illegally parked because there was no vehicle attached to the front of it. I would have hooked up my truck, no problem to make it legit, but I wanted to leave the room for my next door neighbors to park. Well they "gave me a ticket" --- that to this day I have NEVER seen. and sent a tow truck driver to tow it.
I found out only because I got a call form my neighbors saying "hey there is some guy driving away with your boat.
I went and stopped the tow truck with my truck (he made it only about 150 feet), and he said he would give me my boat back if I gave him like 250$ or something. I did. Thanks.
Pro Tip- if want to shake off the image of "money collection system" and you truly care about people. Why not just knock on the door and say " hey mate, did you know you might get a ticket for that situation there, . if you just hook your car up to it it all becomes legal". Further, I have no idea why hooking it up the drive vehicle makes it so legal all of a sudden but I guess it does. it doesn't take much imagination to think of all the other examples of stuff on roads that you don't ticket why go after trailers?
Our truck was stolen and ended up at the impound lot. I had no wheels, but the lovely people at the impound lot kept telling me that we had to come in to the impound lot to pay the fine "in person, no exceptions". Finally after popping a cork and telling them that I couldn't come in, they admitted that the towing guy could pay the fine on my behalf. So why can't I pay their stupid fine by credit card? That makes no sense at all! Why are the folks at the impound lot so unpleasant, unhelpful and misleading. They are kicking people when they are down, and I say shame on them!!! The city should fire all those nasty people and bring in new people with kinder attitudes, AND let people pay the fines by credit card!! Duh!
Signage was posted on only one main road, and only one of my two vehicles was giving a parking notice. Sent in to have it reviewed... only to hear 25 days later my claim of correction was denied with no proof of proper signage posting or any explanation behind why one vehicle was ticketed What poor a function this is.
REAL GARBAGE, ALL OF YOU. you are nothing in the society. Imbecile giving tickets to students at university, people working and elderly so they can suck their money right off them. I HOPE YOU GET SHUT DOWN. Giving tickets on residential areas and even tho I proved it was issued by error they didn t cancel it. Piece of garbage and unethical losers patrolling the streets
unbelievably corrupt still have not heard back about a claim from 2 years ago about damage to my vehicle I will say one employee actualy helpd me in geting reimbursed $701 they wrongfully made me pay if I wanted my vehicle back wen its on a scale that big I guess it's not illegal they suck
What a joke, they refused to take a parking complaint because I did not have the license number, but I had the street address and make and description of the vehicle involved. I was shocked when they said they had to have a license number to check with police first. Plus the vehicle was never moved for street cleaning a month ago.
This place is designed to take your money you earned with your blood and sweat. Appealing tickets is useless as they do not care and make profit by taking your hard earned money.
This is the worst kind of institution there is. If there was competition going on between the insurance industry and the parking, parking would I think come out to be the winner as the worst institution designed to take your money with any and all means necessary.
Don't do the right thing when you get a phone call and stop (not park) while driving while on the street as you will get a ticket. According to CPA stopping momentarily without leaving your vehicle is the same as parking, turning off your car and leaving. Parking and stopping are the same thing? Why do signs in the DT make the distinction?
How about the time I dropped my wife off DT (stopped for less than 10sec)and got a ticket? There are no available loading zones (not full, non existent), should I stop a traffic lane?
Also, if you don't contact the owner of the car about the infraction then How can you charge a late fee? The $3service fee to payonline (bs) and your awful office hours (4:15 you close) are all part of driving up fees.
And every time I come home for lunch and park in my buildings loading zone I'd appreciate if the creep ticket writer could maybe not hover to measure out 20mins to the sec.
Calgary parking authority should maybe try and work with Calgary residents parking, make reasonable suggestions and be friendly. Waiting for somebody to park too close to a fire hydrate (so close the ticket agent has to measure the unmarked distance as they can't eye ball it any better then anyone else) and writing a ticket while the driver is just out of eyeshot is sleazy. Roll down your window and give a person a heads up. Calgary parking authority needs to keep lanes open and moving instead of generating money ticketing in an unreasonable fashion. Ticketing a car in front of a hydrant does nothing for the safety of anyone, it just makes money.
What a bunch of scam artists, the ticket states that if it's paid within 10 days it'll be $36 but being the 8th day today its already gone up to $40 online. To make things even more pathetic, they charge you a $3 service charge on top of everything.
what a joke the CPA is. No wonder everyone hates you, even if they're not getting a ticket.
edit: CPA might want to check their email, I've attached a photo of the ticket. their reply is furthering my point.
Thanks. You're the best kind of humans. If there is any way I can assist you in helping yourself to my hard earned dollars so you can plow massive ice chunks on to my sidewalk and driveway that i shoveled three times during an epic snowfall and then give me a ticket, PLEASE DO NOT HESTITATE TO ASK! I am here to serve you.
Out and out liers. Gave me a parking ticket claiming I was there for over the hour allotted time which is completely false. At the time of the ticket I was parked for 18 minutes exactly. I am 200% certain of this because we were running late for an appointment and I checked the time as I parked. Even after appealing the ticket they refuse to admit that they could have made a mistake. They claim my tire was chalked, which is also NOT TRUE! So do I pay the $40 ticket or go through the hassle of going to court over it. They probably do this all the time and people don't want to bother with the hassle so just pay the $40.
both our house hold vehicles were towed for being parked too close to a bus zone. i understand there is a "no parking within 5m" of bus zones. The bus zone is indicated by the bus sign and there are no other signs on the street. i was parked more than the 5m of the bus sign and my fiance was parked behind me. there was no warning, no notice, they just came and towed the vehicles after we had gone to bed (after 10 pm).
I called to report an illegally parked vehicle in my parking spot at my apartment. I was told they would be sending someone and that calls usually take under 25 mins to respond to. Well, an hour later, still no one had showed up. I called back and they said I was on their list, but that they were at another call. I waited another half an hour and still nothing. I then had to go to bed, as I had to wake up early for work. When I woke up the next day, I noticed they called a half hour later...so two hours after I initially called! I think this is ridiculous and a very poor response time. In addition, this is the 2nd time they have done this to me. Response times should not take that long.
Was given a ticket for my car being parked on the road during street cleaning, not a single sign was placed in or around my area, and also i never seen a street cleaner come into the main community other then the main roads, they refuse to do anything about it, Typical example of Corruption
Even the 24 hour dispatch are rude when you try to report things like cars blocking firelanes or driveways. CPA have the "not my job" doubletalk down. Pro work avoidance. Yet their cameras love to issue tickets to legally parked vehicles, but dont expect them to do their jobs when it means a person has to actually work.
Although the services CPA provides are absolutely necessary for things such as residential parking and emergency access, it's rather atrocious how parking in a way that inconveniences no one is a ticketable offence. For example: parking at transit stations is just about impossible unless one either a) shells out for a monthly pass (perfect if you take the train daily) or b) gets there at 0500 to take one of the minute amount of free parking spaces that can be used by those of us who only take the train occasionally. Good on you CPA for making access to downtown even more expensive.
Staff was very difficult to deal with. They have a script and are unable or unwilling to use free thought. This system is broken and needs a complete gut!!! And what other organization does not accept a drivers licence as a for if ID
