They ticketed a bunch of people in the Franklin C-Train station for not parking in between the lines. You cant see the lines, its all ice and snow. The visibility is not clear as they did not clear the ice and snow. Its also pitch black outside making it very difficult. Very unethical and unprofessional. Very disappointed by the Calgary Parking Authority.

City is incapable of plowing the roads but impeccable at getting tickets out to motorists. No love in this city's municipal offices for regular working stiffs - just stealing our money to make up for the shortfall O&G has left us with...Thanks Nenshi/Bronconnier
I'm very happy with my experience so far with CPA. I tried to contact several different parking structures about finding a bike cage. The others either did not respond at or, it was over a week before they got back to me. Stacy got back to me within the day and answered all my questions within the day. She was also able to prorate me for the month of June so I can start riding to work tomorrow morning.
No one likes paying for parking but with Calgary Parking Authority it's not that bad. Pay by cell phone feature is awesome start a session upon arrival, it initially charges you for the max time but as soon as you leave you stop your session and it refunds you for the time you didn't use. It bills you exactly by the minute which is great! It's also much cheaper to park on CPA lots or on the street then impark or west park lots, I often park downtown for about an hour and my charge is usually under $2 which is great!
While reporting vehicles blocking the driveway at home address person on the other end presented no ability to speak like human, I think I may have been talking to a robot. I ve had issues with the driveway being blocked, I kept calling CPA until they began to be no help, telling me to go outside put myself in a dangerous situation to get plate and car info.
I ve emailed their office and higher ups rather then first contact reps as well, I asked for assistance in what the options are for the myself to prevent or deter parking in from the driveway from happening so I don t need to keep calling them. I never got a reply, hoping one day things change within this organization.
Not sure how CPA justifies charging a $3 fee for paying a ticket online. If anything there should be a discount. This is a BS policy that needs to change. Speak up people, your silence in compliance.
Firstly the two homeless people still asleep in a stairwell at 915 am was nerve racking: I can understand it happening in middle of the night but at 915 am? Then the machines couldn't read my credit card on several tries/ different machines. And when it finally did read the card, I was asked if I wanted an "optional receipt", with 2 choices "Print Receipt" of "Cancel". Not needing an optional receipt, I selected "Cancel", to which the machine reported "Transaction Cancelled" I called the office to report confusion, to which I was told its likely a printing error, not to worry. They couldn't tell me if I actually had an active parking session, so I didn't know if I had actually paid or not. For $25.25 for 4 hours parking, I sure as h*ll wasn't going to pay twice. And that's probably the most insulting point: $25.25 for 4 hours. That's 3 times the rate a monthly parker pays. Value for the service? Price less for short term, PLEASED.
At this point, myself and the CPA are friends. I have a very clearly marked sign for my private residence and still people feel the need to park there, whether it's for 2 minutes or 5 hours. Sometimes I come home to it, sometimes they locked me into my spot. Although there are occasions where it takes the CPA a longer time to respond, they are always great at dealing with my frustration at the selfishness that people think it's okay to park on clearly labeled private parking.
This young parking officer tried to place a ticket on my car while I'm unloading my goods he wanted to close my back trunk door so he can sees my licence plate ! Ok I was in alley and that's the only way to access the back door , I'm still present by my car and trunk door open ! He was forcing him self on me literally Like what the hell are they police officers do they have this kind of authority is this legal !
Train your staff to act and behave and respect people rights shame on you .
Completely unreasonable system of administration. Administration and enforcement refuse to talk to each other, so teh appeal process becomes irrelevant. Never make a mistake and enter the wrong zone number, if you use the phone app, double check, in fact triple check what you did before you ever walk away. Spending a day in court will cost even more than the ticket.
The steep ticket costs will have to be recouped in my budget from somewhere, sorry downtown businesses you're going to lose out because it will be a long time till I go downtown on a Saturday again.
Got a ticket for parking during the Monday of the canada day long weekend, which was a day off for everyone.. holidays and Sundays are always free and this should've been a free day.. I've seen ticketers even taking out measuring tapes to catch people 4.99m away from fire hydrants or corners... they are really looking into every possible way to give tickets out!
I have a bank account print out of the date I was giving a parking ticket. FYI If I pay for the whole day is 8.88 and I have to be there every Thursday for the year. How can I have a ticket again with the proof off my bank??
Honestly, I would like to see more enforcement, not only in downtown Calgary. In many neighborhoods as far as I can observe and experience, surveillance is minimal if any, and parking violations are increasing. In particular, is a so common More
Co-workers have been ticketed for parking too close to an alley driveway? Mind you there weren't IN the driveway or blocking the driveway, just close to it. But the van that's been parked on the same street for two weeks straight without moving gets nothing. CPA is full of crap, arbitrary nonsensical crap. Have a nice day.
CPA makes me want to move cities entirely. I typically take the train into downtown, but occasionally I have the need to drive to work. If you don't have a reserved parking spot, regulations in Calgary make it extremely frustrating to drive into downtown for the day. Need to run a mid-day errand or need a vehicle after work? Might as well take the whole day off work, because it'll probably cost you $40 to park for the day.
Prior attempts to contact customer support or contest tickets were futile because CPA doesn't appear to show interest in providing service to the citizen of Calgary. Their actions appear to show that their mandate is to maximize profits for the city. How about finding actual solutions to citizen parking challenges instead of tightening the screws on Calgary drivers?
When it come to parking in Calgary, we need less "Authority" and more actual solutions from the City.
So unhappy with the customer service. I had ended a session but when I got home, I was charged for the maximum time. I emailed and called the customer service contacts and even provided proof of my receipt from the store but they said they could not refund me. Very disappointed. First time this happened and they would not help. They said it was probably due to poor connection. After my funds are used. I will not use this app anymore.
Want to fight a completely unjust parking ticket? Wait months, and take a day off work and go to court. If you lose you pay the max penalty, if you "win" you sacrifice a day of work and your limited time here on earth. CPA is held accountable by nothing. Repugnant.
