I contacted their tech support today for some help...

I contacted their tech support today for some help with my 2 year old spa. The tech support rep was not helpful. Most answers were very short, "yes" and "No". "No warranty coverage". Then she sent me a link for a service company. I felt like I was bothering her during the Wendy Williams show or something. Totally rude, unprofessional and made me decide never to buy one of their products in the future based on this experience.

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service! They set me up as a dealer back in May of last year for the American Spas Line. We were sent all the necessary paperwork to setup the account including price lists, photos, specs on each spa, etc. We finally got all the spas added to our website and sold our first spa. We sent the order in, and I NEVER HEARD FROM ANYONE. I called and called and called, and finally some girl answered the phone after 1 week of calling and transferred me to someone named Bernie (Bernard). He told me he was on the Cal Spas side of the company, but he would be happy to help me with the American Spa I sold since it is from the same company. After 2 more weeks of going back and forth trying to get the spa made (he told me it would be done in 5 weeks), I was told the pacific blue color for the fiberglass coloring on the spa I ordered was out of stock and that he could use a slightly different blue but on the same spa I ordered...which my customer was totally fine with. He told me to re-send the order in and that they would get going on the spa and he would put a rush on it. It has now been 6 weeks, and he said he "dropped" the ball and it is his fault, and that they now can't find ANY of my paperwork that I sent in when I set up the account, and that they now cant make the spa because they dont have any of it. WOW, Marabelle set up my account in May of 2019, I re-sent them all the corresponding emails between her and I and NOW THEY JUST WONT ANSWER THE PHONES, NONE OF THEM. They won't return my emails, my phone calls, NOTHING! THESE PEOPLE HAVE A LOT TO LEARN ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE...I have a feeling this covid thing is going to put them out of business...do not buy anything from them!

Very disappointed in Cal Spas. This was a luxury item for us and we have only been using it for about 6 months. It has had a leak for about 2 of those months and the stereo has not worked properly. My husband called when both issues started and the person kept pushing back saying we needed to go through the retailer we bought it from we purchased it at the LA County Fair and she insisted it wasn t their area. Finally after other calls, they determined we did buy it from them. She then told him we could contact a retailer in our area and they will send someone to fix it. That retailer told us it would be a $150 travel fee. On our original receipt it declares there will be a reasonable travel charge . Seriously?! $150 is not reasonable for a 20 minute drive. We called Cal Spa back a guy told us we would need to speak with a certain person to discuss it so my husband left her a message, never got a call back called back several times and then after weeks of this finally spoke to her. She scolded him for not taking care of the leak himself. Really?! This was not a cheap purchase and you are going to treat us this way?! She agreed to send one of their technicians. I waited for almost 3 hours on the day of his visit no show. Upon calling her back she said he was on vacation. She had left messages for us to see if he could come on another day but never said he couldn t be here. We have made numerous calls that have either gone unanswered or wait times finally made us drop the call.

This is unacceptable. Pushing customers off, scolding them for your product s failures and expecting customers to pay for service to their failed product??!!

We didn t receive our booklet with all of the disclaimers on warranty until the spa was delivered. We would have re-thought such a large purchase if we knew Cal Spa didn t want to stand behind their product.

We love our spa but so disappointed in the service.

This company as the worst customer service ever, i ordered parts from them and they ship me the wrong parts, try to contact them for a mouth now by phone or email and no answer. So if you re shopping for a spa do you a favor and shop somewhere else. My spa is down since 2 months now. CalSpa service suc.s bad

Was contacted for an interview with Cal Spas Pomon...

Was contacted for an interview with Cal Spas Pomona on Friday 10/11, in that phone call I was given a date and time, and was told I would receive an email with more details. Next week rolls around and they didn t reach out to me, so on Tuesday 10/15 I emailed their HR, and didn t get a response until Thursday 10/17. They only contacted me to let me know the position had already been filled, and wanted to cancel my interview. If this is how they handle potential employees, I don t even want to know how they treat their customers. From the reviews it seems like it s not well.

Horrendous behavior on behalf of Cal Spas' security personnel. Your security officers, specifically Post Commander F.D. Scott should be well aware that they have zero authority over public photographers conducting their business in a public location. In conjunction with that, your security officers issuing threats of violence and instigating high-risk confrontations is not only distasteful, it is outright unlawful.

Mr. F.D. Scott should be relieved of his official capacity as a security guard at this establishment, and Cal Spas should issue a formal behavior to the community for the actions of its employees.

I am Chad Perry with Spa Brokers and have been selling Cal Spas for the last 12 years. I wanted to leave a good review for all the People at Cal Spas that are working very hard in these crazy times to keep it all rolling. We love being a Cal Spa dealer here in Denver and love selling one of the best products in the world!

I know the manufacture is doing the best job possible to accommodate not only getting us hot tubs but they do a great job at getting us parts and other items we need. I really want Kevin Saunders to know how much I appreciate the extra work after hours to answer my calls and get back to me the information I need to keep it all going! Great job Cal Spas, we love being a dealer and selling Cal spas!

Poor service. My tub has been leaking for months. Their joke of a store in calgary went out of business. Left everyone in a mess. Shawn Howard and backyard tubs is a joke. Talked to the supervisor at calspas. Nothing has been done for 2 weeKS. They don't return calls. Stay away. Spend the extra money and forget the headache's. Very disappointed

I cant even give Cal Spas a single star. We had our swim spa for less than a year and the spa leaks and the siding is warped and coming off the sides. Additionally the pillows are bubbled. We have made multiple calls to cal Spas and have been given the run around. The first authorized repair person we were given contact information to complete the warranty repairs never returned our calls and the second and only other authorized repair company returns calls late into the evening if you even get a call back, has been out twice and not repaired the spa and to this day still have a non functional spa. The spa is a very expensive piece of garbage taking up valuable space in my yard. We get the run around with every call and no resolutions. I would not recommend purchasing anything from Cal Spas. Cal Spas products are not well made and the customer service is even worse. Don't buy anything from Cal Spas!

We recently noticed the hot tub wasn't holding water but loosing it a couple of inches every couple of weeks.
I call the Plymouth location, to book a service person. Our hot tub is in Pequot Lakes, MN so I knew it might be a couple of weeks to get to us.
Turns out Server person was in our area up north, stopped by, fixed the broken valve and Wow done! All within an hour. Unbelievable service - thank you so very much!!!

I have been a spa service tech for over 15 years, and work on all brands of spas. In my professional opinion, Cal Spas is one of the best brands out there. They use the highest quality components such as Balboa controls, and don't use proprietary parts which limit availability and drive up service costs big time (Hot Springs, Jacuzzi). Their spa shells are some of the thickest and best made I have seen, and the layouts are all very roomy and comfortable. Cal Spas has moved mountains to keep making quality spas in the middle of this pandemic, and I can't give them enough credit for how well they have handled everything.

Bought a brand new Cal Spa at the LA County fair, ran power to spa and breaker kept tripping. We had a licensed electrician tell us that there was probably an issue with the mother board on the actual unit itself. Cal Spas will only cover parts and labor, but not the trip charge that the technician charges, just to come out and look at it...$150! Customer service at the corporate office of Cal Spas is horrible, they are very rude! Do your homework before purchasing from Cal Spas, seems to me that when you spend this much money on a brand new spa, Cal Spas should back up their product, and cover ALL fees associated with fixing it.

We got the mini-spa veranda series, it took some time before we found this proper-sized, elegant and unassuming looking spa that looks good as part of a masters bathroom Although they were built for outdoors, it did fit in our converted his-masters-closet to spa room as we do wanna soak in in a private space and be naked. They claim it to have a miracle of youth system but i think that's a far claim, the water gets filled with oxygen and becomes murky-milky-white. It does feel silky on your skin though like that dove-soap-effect and definitely helped me with my psoriasis which is why we got it in the first place. I'm glad to have discovered this, hopefully this can be helpful for that next person who's looking to sooth their psoriasis.

Bought a spa 6 months ago for $9K. I keep my chemistry perfect, always. All three of the pillows disintegrated. Not covered by warranty. I would advise to take pillows out of spa every time you use it. Also, open your spa daily or your cover won t last a year. Should have bought a hot springs.

I have a 2016 CalSpa Swimspa f-1325. On a warrant...

I have a 2016 CalSpa Swimspa f-1325. On a warranty call, we recently had to have the main circuit board (or something like that) replaced because it stopped functioning. The new one is NOT the same as the old one because the functionality of the buttons isn't the same. I called CalSpas and was put through to a technician. I left a voicemail about the issue and didn't hear back in a week. So, I called again and asked to leave a VM for a different tech since the first one ignored me. Once again, I didn't get a call after a week. So, I called and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told by her, "I will make sure, myself, that the tech calls you back on Monday" (this was Thursday, BTW because she doesn't work on Fridays. Must be nice!!!) No call Monday, no call Tuesday, no call Wednesday. I called Wednesday afternoon and left her another VM that I hadn't received a call as promised. Now, it's after-hours on Thursday and still haven't heard back.

I heard from them nearly everyday when I was considering purchasing it.
It makes me feel like, once you got my $10,000+ dollars, you were done with me.

I see other posts here where a Cal Spa representative says "We take customer service issues very seriously at CalSpa". Clearly you don't! I have called FOUR TIMES and haven't even had anyone on the phone to address my concern.

I LOVE soaking in my spa. HOWEVER, I wish I had purchased it from a company that cares about long-term customer service.

Communication about spas is horrible. It's been 'shipping today' for 3 days now, and still hasn't shipped. On the 3rd day, they finally acknowledged 'a small backlog' but promised it would absolutely ship today..... Needless to say, it hasn't shipped.

(And, of course....shipping means dropping on my curb. So, trying to have movers on standby to receive and take into the backyard is no small task. Cal Spas doesn't seem to care about that at all.

Purchased a bbq grill at one L.A. county fair. After a couple of years of use the handle for the hood broke. Ordered the replacement directly from them, and either I ordered the wrong one or they sent me the wrong one, I do not want to blame anyone for I am not sure. Either way, I tried to exchange it for the correct one and was told no refunds. I said I wanted to exchange it not a refund. Customer rep then said no exchange. Worst customer service experience of my life. To shorten the story, after 5 weeks of phone calls ( this was based strictly on a principal basis ) I got a replacement. A $40 item, you would think I was asking for a brand new grill. What I remember most though, is how the supervisor made it seem that she moved heaven and earth to get the replacement approved. I should name my next child after her. Worst buying experience of my life.

Response to owner: The replacement was not done in 3 weeks and even if it was, I feel that is too long considering I live 40 minutes from your factory. I even requested a will call pick up and was told you did not do that. One of the main reason I bought your grill was the fact that you are a local company and I wanted to support that. My experience with your reps was terrible and I hope things have changed. I really love to see when a local company succeed. The sad truth is that when it came time to replace the grill, I went to a local hardware store and purchased one from them because I knew I could get decent service after the sale.
