Me and my family only visited the big mound but it was really cool. You could see St. Louis Missouri from the top of the mound and you could see the rivers and ponds. Yes there's many steps but it's a good little workout and I would say it's worth it to go up.

Fantastic if you are a history nerd or enjoy Native American historical sites. The visitors center is quite good (and free!), and now open part of the week. Great place to spend a few hours and marvel at our continent's history.

A must trip to see what can be accomplished. The mounds are excellent to see and there is information as you walk through to educate on the history. The steps on the largest mound scale a 100 feet so be prepared. Do not skip the visitor center as it is a wealth of information of the complexity and advancement of the Cahokia people. There is also a sample village.

A great place to learn about the Native American people that made their home here.
The exhibits are well maintained and have a clear timeline of events.
As an Archeologist found to be a fascinating place to explore.
Staff was quite helpful and we'll informed.

I highly recommend visiting the Cahokia museum along with the mounds. The museum can take about a hour to see everything but it is worth it. There are several mounds in the area to see. The largest has steps to the top. It is the largest man made mound in the world. Great views of the surrounding area and lots of native history. You can see the Arch when on top even though it is about 15 miles away.

I really liked this place. Very informative and interesting. Lots of artifacts and great museum. There were quite a few things I didn't know about the mounds and that there are quite a few. A brisk walk to the top of Monk's Mound rounded out the day. We went on the Ipod tour and enjoyed it. It takes a while to see and do it all so plan ahead.

The Mounds were beautiful but serve now more as a workout trail than a revered, sacred ground. They're evidence of a well-developed civilization but are not well maintained. More people cared about how many laps they'd run up the Mounds than how many people might be buried there.

Beautiful historic site. I can't comment on the museum, because we didn't go in. The gift shop was cute, but a bit small. Cahokia Mounds seems like an awesome exercise place, especially if you want to climb steps. I would suggest putting a trash can at the top, and maybe slightly off color tips on the stairs, it got a little blurry going down.

Lots of walking, but a great stop for groups. We watched the "movie" to inform us of the venue before arrival, since it couldn't be done on site due to their COVID guidelines in place. Recommend doing that!
