Busy, but the staff were pleasant and attentive. However, my quiche was rather tasteless and the "salad" consisted of green beans and peas, which was also a little tasteless. The prices were not too bad, but certainly not cheap. I felt the place was probably quite "in", and so didn't need to try very hard, which is a Shane as I felt the foot was dull.

Excellent restaurant quality food, good coffee and delicious cakes. We have tried the quiche, various salads and the bruschetta which are all very well made and taste fantastic. Lovely interior and some tables outside for those rare sunny days! Highly recommended for lunch or coffee and cake.
Lovely open space with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were attentive but not over the top. My Asian salad was absolutely perfect. A balanced salad and not pretentious at all. Prices are up there but comparative to the surrounding cafes.
5 of us called in for midday bit to eat. The premises was busy well decorated and had a very pleasant vibe. Toilets clean. The service was very good, food was even better. Especially the soup of the day. I would highly recommend.
Used to be an absolute winner if you were after a premium breakfast or light lunch experience but recently has been so hit and miss with service, and past two times we've almost given up and gone elsewhere
No vaping inside but they have no objection to your doing that outside; where there is a row of tables and chairs and you can either eat al fresco or drink your favourite beverage. Mine is a chai latte.
I enjoyed my visit here. It is a cafe, home decor combo shop. The food was excellent and the coffee too and would have been five stars but it was difficult to get the server's attention and had to go to the kitchen area to order and later pay after a long wait at the table for both. It was very busy though and I would definitely return.
Just stunning in mid-September, sitting outside in the sun watching Bath life go by. Loads of seating inside and several tables outside. Incredible salads and healthy food, as well as cakes and other naughty treats. Friendly service. Appeared to be dog friendly.
Delicious cafe with great coffee lunch brunch and home made cakes. Fast friendly service. Stylish Cool interior. A great place to relax while visiting historic Bath.
We enjoyed a nice lunch. Good atmosphere. My wife had the four salads and was very pleased. My dish was good, not great. It had too many different flavours going that made it difficult to enjoy any clear standout flavours. It was a bruschetta with avocado and smoked salmon. The salmon was lost in the competing tastes.
Amazingly fresh tasty food. A real treat for the taste buds. Would have had 5 stars but felt a little rushed in ordering. Will definitely return though.
Well run place, it can t be easy pleasing everyone with the c19 rules, but they are doing a good job. Nice staff, good food, would recommend. Dog friendly also.
Such a wonderful cafe. Food was amazing and some really nice clean, fresh ingredients. lovely atmosphere. Very dog friendly. Can't wait to go back. Only one little niggle is that the staff didn't seem to be "happy". They weren't rude but just made you feel as though they didn't really want you to be there. Not one of them smiled. Such a shame, but maybe we just picked the wrong day!
Our favourite place for a coffee in Bath. Excellent food and drink, inside and outside seating, great staff and dog friendly. What more could you ask for?
The dessert is delicious , from first sight of the dessert I wasn t sure if I really wanted to buy it . However, after the first bight my whole opinion changed the cakes where unbelievably delicious.
Unfortunately I could not find a way to message Cafe Lucca privately (no email address on website, no private message on FB) so I have been forced to write a review. I came to the cafe for my birthday and we ordered a bottle of wine and a piece of cake, which we ordered straight from the counter and not from table service. It took about 15 minutes for this to come out which seemed quite long considering no/little preparation was involved and other waitresses came to ask if we had ordered in the mean time. The waitress put the wine on the table without offering to pour or a taste- again not great service but oh well. We poured our own full glass of wine and before taking a sip noticed black dirt swimming in the glasses. The waitress took away the full glasses. But maybe, we thought, she had not realised we'd ordered a bottle so after 10 minutes my partner went to the counter to point this out. He then witnessed the waitress FISHING OUT THE BLACK DIRT WITH A SPOON to then give back to us. He did not want to make a huge fuss as it was my birthday and asked for clean glasses and fresh wine. She then poured from another already open bottle two small glasses- even though by partner pointed out we didn't know how much we had poured to start with and it could have been more than a small glass. From working in the drinks industry I also believe it is very bad practice to expect someone to drink from two different bottles of wine. It also appeared that during all this a supervisor/manager had been aware of the situation and done nothing. After 35 minutes since we ordered we finally sat down with the wine from two different bottles (that my partner had to stand and wait for and carry back from the counter). The staff offered no apology and strangely did ask if everything was ok when they gave us the bill. On a side note- we were told there was "no wifi and yes the signal here is terrible" not great when you're a visitor trying to google how to get back to your hotel- sorry but it's 2019 and we didn't have our fold-out travel map!!
Went here last week. No precautions by the staff. No masks on the staff, and they are very close to you taking orders and serving. Didn't feel comfortable. So different from other places. Won't be going back soon.

The food was really lovely but unfortunately a large proportion of the staff members looked miserable and fed up, it s like they were forcing themselves to do the job and it was really quite evident. I didn t feel particularly welcome when I walked in and felt quite uncomfortable on a few ocassions - I didn t even want to ask where the toilets were. Two of the staff members who served us seemed like they couldn t be bothered to be there and didn t smile once. Such a shame as the interior and food were both great. I m not sure I d be in a rush to go back.
Lovely bohemian place to visit. Delicious avocado and courgette cake with generous Earl Grey tea. Friendly atmosphere. Helpful and courteous staff. Great to recharge the batteries after walking around stunning Bath.
Nice place and interesting menu but a bit disappointed with the bruschetta - wrong sort of bread, cakey and half-toasted - if you are going to do such Italian dishes then use the right high gluten bread. Topping was nice, juice was nice, waiting staff a bit pouty. Oh, and if the phone isn't working then arrange a divert to a working mobile ;-)
Classy cafe ....cool and plenty of style. It's upmarket and as you would expect good service and good food is the order of the day. We stumbled on it only last year after struggling for years to find a decent place in Bath to have a relax in nice surrounds and have a snack or a glass of wine or just a coffee. It's not easy to find but head north in the city ! Bath is such a lovely place, lovely shops, beautiful stone buildings and lots of smart well dressed people. We always seem to stay in Bristol and visit by train.....but we will be staying in Bath next time. And of course, relishing another visit to Lucca's. It's not cheap but go on....treat yourself!
Not a good start when your waiting to be seated as requested by the sign and staff openly ignore you , eventually we're directed to a table , no menu or instruction.Browsed the cakes and had to ask if it was self service , apparently not .Coffee was lovely as were the cakes but service was extremely poor , wouldn't visit again.
Visited on Sunday at 1530hrs told that food was off menu. Took so long for service that we ordered at the counter. Took a long time for coffee and cakes to come. When the bill came to pay the girl picked up my wife s card and contact paid without our consent or showing us the screen price! I asked for a receipt and I was ignored. Upon leaving I asked to use the lavatory and was blankly ignored. All in all I don t think anybody cares about service. Still don t know how much our bill was / or how much we paid! Please respond we felt like we were a burden and not welcome.
Good, quick polite table service, excellent selection of cakes. Coffee was better than average. A note to the nut allergic, all the cakes are lovely, but nearly all of them contain nuts and I was offered a polenta cake which had almonds until a manager warned me off it.
