Excellent food and service. It was only a few minutes after we ordered that our food came out of the kitchen and was delicious. Bloody Mary was excellent and spicy, I really liked the variety of Bloodies they have. The only disappointing thing was the coffee, I just had black coffee but it was really low quality. Definitely not what I expected given how great everything else was. I would still come back and just not get coffee next time.

Very cool euro-belgian type vibe here. The beer selection is plenty enough for a lifetime, with thorough descriptions of each. Lots of delicious type pub food, if that's what you're after. I would definitely return again! Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a very popular, trendy place. Their brunch menu is phenomenal. The service was fast and very friendly, even considering that I came with a large group. I would give five stars, but I was disappointed that they were unable to accommodate a change to a menu item for my allergy. I ended up having to choose something else.

Food is great. Service is excellent. I ordered the wrong item and was surprised to see my plate. They offered to change it for me right away, even though it was totally my mistake. The best Bloody Mary in town.

I had the Buiscuts and Gravy. It was really great ...

I had the Buiscuts and Gravy. It was really great aside from the buiscuts were dry and crumbly, not moist. Kindof like someone's first attempt at it making buiscuits. The chorizo cream gravy was amazing. It came with scrambled eggs on it instead but ordered mine sunny side up, the waiter said it was better that way after ordering (made more sense to me than scrambled). The potatoes were pretty awesome, perfect infact. The "southern ham' was not southern ham, or atleast not a good southern ham, however as far as ham goes it was good. My girlfriend ordered the Wallon and only came with one super thin pannekoek, very thin like a crepe and not eggy enough and too dry to be a true pannekoen. Perhaps the prosciutto makes up for the cost but overall it would leave one unfilled and hungry as a meal and even being from Chicago $14 is too much for it to be left hungry. Worth about $9, if the pannekoek was better and had two stacked. I will never go back to this resturant because of this, I was finished with my buiscuts and gravy but finishign up the potatoes, I liked them so much I saved some to eat at the end. I was about 2/3 done with them and talking with my GF looking at her and turned back around and my plate was gone, never asked if I was finished. When I asked him about it he just acted like "well darn, that suck" (attitude given not actual words) and then made things ackward and walked away, perhaps knowing I wouldn't make a deal about it given present company with me (three other people) The manager came over later and asked if he could get me anything else to eat as we were all standing up, coats on ready to walk out the door. (Pretty sure a round of filet mignon wouln't have even been appropriate but offering to get a coffee to go for us would have fixed the situation in a second)

Been there 2 times now, and have had a great time both times. The beer catalog is amazing, and the service staff seems to know there stuff when it comes this. The brunch is really good, but go earlier than later as it gets busier as the day goes on.

Two girlfriends and I came for Sunday brunch at 1100 after a local friend mentioned Benelux was popular. I usually share the good and the bad of a place but there weren't positives to share for this unfortunate choice.

-Stale coffee
-Undercooked! pretzel breakfast dish
-Really cold and unidentifiable ingredients in omelet, I'm not sure if I even received the correct order.
-My plate came with one slice of toast and about 9 pieces of undercooked potatoes-I inquired with the waitress if their normal toast consisted of two slices (one whole piece) and she assured me it did ("That's weird it came with only one") then never brought any back as promised.
-My friend's potatoes were undercooked and greasy.

We spent $50 for pretty gross meals and lukewarm service. Dont believe the hype y'all!

I was disappointed with my experience at Cafe Bene...

I was disappointed with my experience at Cafe Benelux. My husband won a sales competition at work and was awarded a night in one of the Lux Domes. His company is very family-oriented and it was never made clear to the person who set this up that it was not a family-friendly place. We drove downtown with our infant in tow for a fun night out in an otherwise tough year. We were immediately told that we could not enter the dome with our infant due to the possibility of underage drinking and the possibility that she would destroy the very fragile dome that usually houses eight drunk people at any given time. We were informed that it said 21+ on their website. So I accepted that it was our fault for not doing our due diligence. What I am disappointed about is the fact that management did not try to help us out in any way, such as suggesting we sit in the restaurant rather than the domes. There were no suggested solutions whatsoever. I do not believe that the "customer is always right" however, I also do not believe in pushing a pregnant woman with a young child out into the street in the middle of winter rather than offering alternatives. I feel that this is a management issue and I am very disappointed with the lack of kindness and compassion with everything else going on in the world. I do not expect the rules to be bent or broken for me, but when it is abundantly clear that the customers were unaware of the rules I think it would go a long way to help find a solution that works for everyone rather than leaving a sour taste in the customers mouth as she drives the half hour home choking back tears.

Was visiting in Milwaukee and saw this place on Google Maps and it looked like a good place to eat. The restaurant has a great atmosphere about it and the location is nice with access to parking. The food was fantastic! I had the Cuban and it was one of the best meals I've had. Highly recommend this place and if you like salad try the Benelux salad!

Superb experience. Waitstaff was outstanding - brought water dish for each dog immediately on arrival, was patient and helpful with menu item selections and offered samples of unfamiliar brews to help decision. My salmon nicoise was outstanding and waitress readily took order for a "naked burger" (grilled beef patty) we could share between our dogs. Lovely!

Not only was the food excellent but we had a wonderful server. Cindy our server took wonderful care of us and catered to our every need even after accidentally spilling a drink (which she cleaned up immediately). Great casual dinning place!

This attempts to be "elevated Belgian pub fare" but they fall a little short. The highlight of the menu is definitely the sprocket burger. The tomato chutney on the burger sets it apart. None of the food is terrible, but don't expect to be blown away. The beer on the other hand is awesome. You won't find extremely rare or hard to find beers but they definitely do a great job of getting people to appreciate awesome Belgian beers! Proper clean glassware is a great touch!

Food is pretty good, and I've never had a problem with any rude employee here before. But, I went with a friend yesterday, Labor Day, and the female who was taking the reservations outside was rude. I get it, she's busy, but I wasn't rude to her at all, so why should I receive that kind of attitude? The couple standing next to me got wave of her sour attitude, too. Not cool

A bit pricey but worth it. The drinks were just right and service was exceptional. We'll definitely be back when in Milwaukee again. (First timer tip) If you can avoid sitting on the side in the late afternoon do so. The sun is not as friendly as the wait staff.

The food was fantastic. I had the Hodge podge and it had a great mix of flavors. Every bite I would get something different because it's basically food mixed together. Sometimes I'd get a bite of bacon sometimes chorizo and sometimes both with gravy. The tenderloins were good as well but they tasted better after you let them cool and settle.

Just Stay Away. The food is awful. Not joking. It's awful, and ridiculously over priced. The staff also had no idea what was going on.

we had a server for 10-15 min. then she said she was "being relocated." and we got a different server
then another server brought us our drinks and didn't ask if we were ready to order
finally our server came, took our entree order and we reminded him twice about the appetizer
appetizer never came
Our salads came BEFORE our appetizer with no dressing on them or on the side
he said "the dressing comes on the side" to which I said: "we have no dressings at all. On the salad or on the side."
The salads didn't include half the toppings described on the menu
they forgot our appetizer and after 10 min. of us eating our salads he asked "are you sure you didn't get it? are you sure it wasn't sent to this table (while pointing to the empty table next to us.)
then we got it 25 min. later after asking yet another clueless server if the mussels he had in his hands were ours because he didn't know what table had ordered them... and they were overcooked and disgusting tasting. (Not exaggerating) They tasted gross.

Bottom line: we paid $60 for two drinks, two really awful salads and a mussels appetizer (they took the app off)
also the waitstaff was clueless. Not rude, just clueless.

Seriously, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!: go to St. Paul Fish Company in the Public Market or Wicked hop (both across the street and very yummy.) I can't believe this place is in business. Cool looking place, terrible food and bad staff.

Sanford's makes you feel special from the moment you arrive-from the valet parking to to your greeting from the host. We have dined here many times and never once been disappointed. When Justin took over the restaurant it was a smooth transition and there was never a change in the quality of food or the service. One of the things we especially like about Sanfords is the ever changing menu. While some restaurants have the same menu items all the tim, Justin creates menu items based upon what's fresh and what inspires him.

Went there with a co-worker on valentine's day - we both happened to be in town for work so that was our 'date.' I opted for a Roubaix burger which wasn't as garlic or buttery as I thought (since I was in Wisconsin, of course). In the end, it was a decent burger with just 'ok' fries. Bit pricey for me - even on the company's dime.

My "date's" sweet potato fries took about 20-25 minutes to arrive... AFTER her burger arrived and after we asked three times. :(

It was a cool place on the inside, and had a nice vibe / looked neat. But, they're trying too hard and I am not worried about going back.

Brunch is fantastic here. The Bloody's the best in town! The beer menu is almost 50 pages. The frites and aioli sauces delicious. Rooftop drinks and dining in summer are top notch! The cycling art on the south wall is pretty cool as well.

Horrible service, horrible food. We were in town for a bachelor/bachelorette party. Both groups got together sunday for breakfast. Total group of about 12 to 14 and we waited over an hour to get our food for the whole table. Waitress was horrible never came and informed us of what was taking so long. Finally after an hour our food came and it was all stone cold. Don't know if I will ever return or suggest you to anyone that I know.

Cafe Benelux has an extensive beer craft menu. They also have a much smaller (thankfully) 'macrobrew' list (for those, like my papa, who only drink Miller Lite and the like). Their food menu was small, but fantastic. We loved the cheese curd meatballs (bitterballen) and the Mac and cheese looked amazing (goat cheese, brie, meunster, etc). Our bartender was friendly and attentive, even though he was slammed we had full beers and water all night!

Went here for work this past Friday for the first time. The menu while a little small all sounded delicious. For a downtown establishment the prices are very fair. I ended up going for the Mahi Mahi fish tacos. Delish!! For appetizers we had the favorite, sweet potato fries, AMAZING! Their hummus is also very good as well. The portions are quite large as well, many of us took leftovers home. Stayed after to partake in there huge beer list, I couldnt decide so I had their Strong sampler of 4 beers. All of them were great! Bloody Mary's also looked good as well. Definitely a place to stop downtown in the Third Ward of Milwaukee. Going back for their breakfast and patio this summer for sure!

Delicious breakfast with so many amazing options it was hard to choose. We showed up at peak breakfast rush and they were able to immediately seat our group of 10, which surprised the heck out of me since it was in the middle of Summer Fest (though maybe we just beat the hungover crowd). The staff was awesome as well.
