One of the best places to eat out in town. Good quality but not pretentious. Great for a treat, good local produce and seasonal menu. Very friendly welcome and great atmosphere. Engaged with local community and charities.

*reduced to 2 stars after been blown away by the Mustard Seed restaurant* Mmmmm, difficult one this as I've been there before and found the vibe really good for a night out as everyone is jolly and chatting away enjoying themselves. So decided to take the wife there for her birthday treat and it wasn't the same at all. A romantic meal that was at times dominated by the kitchen shouting when we were pretty much the only customers there, wasn't experiencing that before. The food was good but not for the prices we paid, felt like good pub food, nothing overly special. Dare I say it it felt nouveau riche when you're there during the daytime with all the lights on. Can't describe the difference between the feel of lunch and evening service, it's a bit like when you first went to a pub after they brought out the smoking ban and only then did you realise how the carpets stank of sticky booze (this establishment is extremely clean if you're wondering). I would recommended going if you've not eaten here before, it's just I came away thinking I've not eaten the level of food for the amount I paid. Hence all the other high ratings here are fully justified so don't be put off by my review, it's just the food and experience just didn't tickle or excite my senses. Left feeling underwhelmed.

Restaurant that does not accept you if you are with children ... One can observe the respect with which the owner considers customers who want to eat at home by insulting them with clown. So I will add a few details, when I returned to the restaurant and I asked for a table for 4 people, I was told no problem, and when I returned with my children I was told: no , It is not possible. 3 minutes later, I went back to the restaurant, and there was a group of 6 people who had not booked, because one of the 6 people returned to the restaurant to ask if there is room. This person resorts and tells his friends that it's good there is room. So from that moment on I deduced that this restaurateur was attracted by the profitability, and not by the customer service. Moreover, customer service is not one of his priorities, since he insults clown customers in these responses.

Really good food. I started with some excellent scallops and follwed them with tempura monkfish with fries and a light curry sauce. There's a decent wine list and a great value early bird menu too. Delicious!

Some of the most wonderful food I have had. I had the king prawns starter (forgot to take a picture), the lamb and then the raspberry cheesecake for dessert. I also had Prosecco extra dry

Good food, steak was well prepared, and the sides were nice. Good cheesecake too. Friendly service. The place looks tiny from the outside, but it's actually huge, and was fully packed in the evening, so do book a day or two ahead of time. Coffee could be much better, though.

I beg you, if you visit Inverness and enjoy good food, visit this place. Instantly felt at home from the moment we walked in. Very friendly, yet very Covid safe proving that a pandemic can't ruin good hospitality when it's done properly. A dog friendly restaurant that doesn't sacrifice hygiene or elegance by accepting 4 legged friends. The food was exceptionally good. I had the scallops and the lamb and my husband had the salmon and the special steak. For dessert we shared the crepe with toffee sauce and it was to die for. By far one of the best restaurants I've ever visited and I will be damn sure to book here again if in Inverness.

WONDERFUL experience. Excellent food and amazing service. This was one of our favorite restaurants on our trip. The menu had a wide variety of food and all the members of our party were extremely pleased. The service was the best we had in Scotland: very attentive without being overbearing. Our clients were very impressed! Will definitely visit again next time we are in town.

Essential to eat in Inverness. Very nice treatment, food made with good raw material and it is noted that it is made with great care. Just 10. Right in front of the Castle, easy to find. The amount is not exaggerated, the right thing.

Honestly the absolute best restaurant experience I've ever had, everyone was so friendly and fun to chat too. Our waitress Masie or Masey (probably spelt it wrong) was amazing, kind and happy when serving us. Would definitely recommend this place.

From a Lewisman to a Harris man, I'm sorry but not a great experience. Cutlery not as clean as should be, not great information for gluten free although eventually given and didn't really feel as if giving much if any importance to it, More

Went to celebrate my husbands retirement / birthday with group of 20 friends and relatives and were very pleased indeed. Food was excellent, great choice on menu and staff very attentive. All commented on what a great relaxed evening they had. Highly recommend.

Very nice place. Nice furnishings and very attentive service. Prices in line with the local proposal, certainly higher than the local sideboard. Excellent fish and well cooked. Greedy and abundant sweets. Wine list to be improved

Honestly I do not understand the comments in Inverness! To believe that all comments are phony !? We are not going to lie badly in this city. Go your way ... This restaurant was mediocre ... Go eat in Glasgow or Edinburgh ... And especially wake up in Inverness. A French chef working in England .. Yours truly

Beats me why people give this restaurant such a high rating. Food was pretty average. The restaurant looks cosey but was way to crowded and hence too loud for my liking. Staff was friendly hence the 2 star rating.

Excellent food and service. Nice decor and surroundings too. One of if not THE BEST restaurant in Inverness. Always busy so make sure you book well in advance. The courses are well presented but not to the extent that you just get a pretty picture on a plate..! You do get a decent portion. The menu has something for everyone and they have a good wine list. Just go and enjoy the experience.
