A real beer pub with a large selection and friendly service.

Classic in Groningen. Do they have Jever on tap? I do not know anymore. Hiccups!

Really cozy and nice (very narrow!) Cafe. You do not expect this so in the middle of the market, definitely recommended to visit once.

No idea. Never come to cafes. The phone probably picked up a signal when I walked past it.

I don't know why I must give you 1 star or more, because I would like 0. The service did not want to sold to me and my friends a beer because I was sitting on the terrace with a ... balloon (?!?!). Strange people work there.

Wide selection of bottled beer and also a weekly (?) changing offer of draft beers, in the summer they have a large terrace available, and the narrow, but deep, bar is very cozy all year around. Always had great service here and I visit it every time I'm in the Netherlands.

Old-fashioned cafe. Just the way it was and should be. Stools at the bar, taproom within reach and young ready upon request. Look out at one of the most famous places on the Grote Markt for Groningers.

The first terrace in a corner of the market is certainly not bad. The operation can be a little more alert. It can also feel a little drafty, even in good weather. But then a little cooling is sometimes not wrong (!)

The drinks are great and the finger food, in this case a portion of bitterballen, is okay. Nothing to really write home about.

The consumptions are a tad on the price but it could be worse.

This terrace is a good option in warm / hot weather. Furthermore, it is an option if the other terraces further on are full.
All in all, I actually intended to give 3 stars by excelling in 'just', but since I base it on 1 single visit, I give an extra star for the benefit of the doubt.

I just love this pub. Very cozy and with an incredible atmosphere! Just be aware that it may get very busy as the place itself is rather small.

Due to the narrowness, it is a bit tight but cozy. You can drink a special beer when it rains.

Still don't know what the joke is. Waiter didn't either. What they lack in German humour is more than made up for in their beer selection, and the food is great too.

Fast service in a beautiful building on the Grote Markt in Groningen. We sat outside and were quickly helped by a very friendly waitress. Highly recommended.

Hugely atmospheric bar built in late 17th century.Only had coffee but enjoyable looking at old photographs inside and market Square outside.

Bartenders just throw lemon in your glass of beer. And then deny too! Bad thing to let the customer pay for this too. Never again!
