Nice local diner and ice cream shop. The food is generally adequate diner food for a very reasonable price but the ice cream selection and quality is definitely where it shines and there is a separate line for ice cream versus sit down meals although you can order it from the seated area. The only real downside is that it is very crowded during peak hours and doesn't take reservations, so it is often hard to get seating.
Be prepared--cash only! Ice cream portions are huge--plan to share. Food was standard fare--recommend going for a dessert treat.

Cabot's is one of the best places to go for ice cream but their diner experience is nearly as strong. Variety is the name of the game here. Any and all sundaes are impressive and delicious and they somehow come away with dairy free options as well.

Great place for kids. Problem is its very disorganized when its crowded. Why they can't have a list I don't know. They say wait to be seated but people always just walk in and take tables while you're waiting. Often they'll direct you to wait in a line filled only with people waiting for ice cream. Then people walk in off street and just sit at table you think you're waiting for. They need to manage this better as it can be very frustrating if you're waiting with a crying child.
It is pretty tasty. My biggest complaint is that if you have a serious dairy allergy you cannot eat here because it is all done on the same equipment.

The only reason that Cabot's is getting a 4 out of 5 is because their food is nothing to write home about, and they ONLY accept cash in today's day and age. That said, they have some of the best ice cream we've ever had. Period! I love their strawberry pineapple parfait. I mean, how can you not, parfait means perfect in French!
You come here for the ice cream and the classic ice cream parlor charm. It is the classic ice cream parlor that you cannot really find anymore and if you are craving some delicious, reasonably priced ice cream I would highly recommend this place. They have tons of amazing flavors and I love their brownie with ice cream desserts.
If you are going for a diner, however, I would not go in with high expectations of classic diner fair. Anything with baked beans is a sure fire win, but beyond that things can get a bit dicey. Their chicken, egg, and tuna fish salads are all classic and good. Ice cream is the way to go when you come, and it is the reason to keep coming back.
You can also get ice cream cakes and pints of their ice cream are for sale, if you want to take some for a special event.

Best place for ice cream. Food is good too. It feels like going back in time. The only downside is that it's cash only. They have an atm on site, but the fee is pretty steep. Better to know before you go.

Whenever I I need a proper lunch, this is the place that comes straightaway to my mind. excellent and many types of food and a rich cuisine.helpful staff, and agreeable spirit. Not less important, the expence is affordable. I praise this place with great pleasure.

Love this place. The variety of diner food is awesome and the selection of desserts is awesome. Best known for its ice cream, but it's non-diary menu is ever expanding and there are now way more than 20 non-diary options. I love you it, you can go there with anyone friends, family, very small school field trips. Not the best place for talking quietly, but that's not its purpose. However, eat-in area cannot be navigated by a wheelchair user and the bathrooms are up a steep flight of stairs. They can be challenging for someone with limited mobility too. There is a take out option though.
