We were there in July 2013. The main factory tour was excellent, and the folks at Martin couldn't have been nicer to us. The factory itself was amazingly clean and well organized for the production (1000 guitars a week) and the workers were inspiring to watch. They all seemed very happy to work there, and to enjoy their labor. My new bride and I went through the Martin plant on our honeymoon in 1976, and a lot has changed since then. The guitars they make today are even better, and Chris Martin is doing a superb job of keeping the Martin family heritage alive and well, and making some pretty awesome guitars too! I own 3 Martins and hope to add a few more...love them all. As a native of this area of Pennsylvania I am proud to own a Martin. It all started with a 1950's Martin 02 Uke that my Mom passed down to me (still have it). Thanks CFMartin for a wonderful day and keep up the great work!

I brought my guitar here about 6 years ago. I have a vintage Martin, made in 1971 and the bridge had become detached. I drove the guitar here from New Jersey, they were able to reattach the bridge in one day, and I have had no problems since. Phenomenal service and people. I am grateful for the quality work that they do. Thank you!

I dropped my guitar off on 8/03/12 for warranty and non warranty. Nothing major just normal wear issues. As of 01/22/13 I have still not got the guitar back and now the customer service rep has stopped answering my E-mail, pretty poor overall for any company and especially one like Martin. I suspect since my guitar was a low end model that it has been pushed aside for better models. I am going to try to get through to the owner Chris Martin but that will probably not possible. Pretty poor service and not at all what I expected

I haven't been on too many factory tours, but this is how they should be. Walking around on the factory floor with a guide who was a manager at the factory. Our guide really knew his stuff and was able to answer any question we threw at him. The tour took about an hour and a half. At the end I felt like I had seen just about every aspect of guitar construction. There is also a museum with TONS of examples of martin guitars from the start of the company through contemporary instruments. While you are waiting to go on the tour there are a bunch of guitars that you can play. Everyone on the tour was given a headphones so you could hear the tour guide (since the factory can be a little loud in places).

What an amazing place to visit! If you have an opportunity to walk around the museum and take the tour, DO IT!!!! I left absolutely thrilled and excited because of the museum and the historic guitars and memorabilia they have. I was overwhelmed and will definitely be going back to go through it again. If you play the guitar, have ever played or want to play...GO!!!!!

I am a little biased. I have worked at Martin Guitar for over 22 years. It is still one of the best places I have worked. We are still making the best acoustic guitars you can buy. Every day I meet new people. The faces of the poeple on the tour are my inspiration. I myself love music. I played violin for 11 years. The beauty of an instrument. The love of wood. Knowing that each guitar goes to a special individual. Either to create his own, or to enjoy others music, is just the icing on the cake. Hope to see you soon. A few pictures of some of the new models in our lobby. Come play.

Well worth the experience to go see the place where some of the best guitars on earth are made. The tour is free. i would recommend getting there before 11am. The museum was really nice and the company store was ok. The tour is the highlight of the experience and I had a great time learning about all the process of making a guitar. It really makes you wish you played or had the money to afford one made in Pennsylvania. They are beautiful and made with pride.

The birthplace of my two D-18's. My first one a gift from my mom in 1971. My second, a gift to myself in 1983. Looking inside the sound hole, on the back brace it's marked "1833 - 1983 ~ 150th Anniversary. The normal C.F. Martin etc. markings are located further inside instead.

While I thoroughly enjoyed visiting great tour & awesome museum my visit was bittersweet, as I had an appointment to bring in my '83 D-18 for a minor repair a loose binding on the waist of the upper bout the repair covered by Martin's generous warranty thirty-three years after I brought "her" home!

A huge thanks to all at Martin, especially to the men and women whose hands (and eyes) bring new life to wood. Alchemist's? Magic? Perhaps a little of both!

Thank you all!

Finally got the chance to take a tour of the factory after living a few minutes away for most of my life. It was a great experience and our tour guide covered everything. I will definitely go back again next year and possibly bring along some friends or family. I high recommend it and it's a great way to get motivated to play guitar!

To see a Martin guitar being shaped and created before your eyes is sheer beauty. I saw a $20,000 custom guitar being made and $1000 guitar looked just as perfect on the outside. I was able to play a number of high end Martin models in the showroom, before some smart-ass picker made me feel like a beginner. Go if you can. If you own a Martin, just go. Shop at gift shop. They never have the t-shirt or size I want.

Some of the best sounding guitars I've ever listened to trusted by the greatest artists around the world, since 1833. They do an awesome, free tour, showing start to finish on the instrumental icons. Don't forget to Check out the gift shop!

The oldest factory in the era that I was only 10 years old. Guitar producer That many of you would like to be the owner I personally know Guitar Martin, whose price is more than my salary. But would like to be the owner, if there is a chance, would be quite a merit

We walked in at 1050am and were able to join the first free tour at 11am. Our guide was friendly and the amount of stuff we got to see for free is impressive. Plus you get a keepsake at the end of the tour. The factory is noisy and has a variety of smells that may bother some due to glue and wood cutting but it is fascinating and well worth it in my opinion!

I'm feeling very disappointed with playability of Martin DRS2 I purchased locally a little over 2 years ago. The neck apparently has issues that can't be adjusted by stores service tech and I was told to "keep an eye on it".
Martin repair shop is 6 months out event they sent it to factory. Unexceptable!

It's the home of C.F. Martin guitars. The factory tour is really interesting, and the museum is a wonderful collection of instruments. If you are a guitarist or Martin fan, you will love going here. A fun experience.

The museum had a lot of interesting artifacts.Gift shop lacked. We waited two hours for a factory tour that started late. Told us we couldn't go with an earlier tour that only had 5 people. Then the group we were put with 13 people. People who run the info desk are rude. But the tour was amazing. It puts u in the thick of things.

Martin Guitars are extremely inexpensive!

Martin Guitars are extremely inexpensive!
I'm the original owner of a DC16-GTE (serial number 720,000 made around the 100th anniversary of Martin) and purchased it 7,124 days ago of the writing of this review. Financially it equates to $.0015 per day of ownership, lol.
The sound of this guitar just gets better over time. The resonance was present when I purchased it but has enhanced as the years have passed. Can't beat hardwood Martin guitars, they are beyond comparison . No splits, cracks, neck warping, or damage to the finish after twenty years, this is proof of quality and craftsmanship this company puts out.
The only care I have taken with this guitar other than string changes is keeping it in it's case when not playing and using a inexpensive sound hole humidifier because I live in a desert region.
How many things last for twenty years and get better? Not many, great job Martin and thank you for providing me years of satisfaction.

The Museum is first class, many , many one of a kind instruments to see. If you love music , especially if you play, this place is a must see experience !!! It's brilliant too , cause two types of folks come to this building , those who own a Martin, and those who will own a Martin. the hands on experience insures that !!!
