I'm by no means a pro golfer, and I loved this course. Great variety between front 9 and back 9. Once you get past the 6th hole, you feel like your in a different state. The back nine has a cape cod feel to it, with lots of tall grass, plenty of sand, and some old rustic barns. Some good long holes, unlike most of the public courses around. All greens were clean and well kept. Very good condition for end of August.

The only negative is that I could never quite get a read on the slope and speed of the greens. Also, it was slow moving and they probably could have asked the folks in front to speed up a bit.

Otherwise, highly recommended.

Good design and variety between front and back nin...

Good design and variety between front and back nine. Condition was mostly ok for early May, some winter kill in greens but should bounce back. #11 par 3 was closed and they were using a short 75yd par 3 on practice green as substitute. #17 was using a temporary green.

However, starter was a PIA and not friendly. Tee time of 12:40. He says we were 3 minutes late and other 2-some already tee'd off and we will have to wait for an opening because a 4-some is at 12:50. My mobile phone says time is only 12:40 on the dot and we don't see any 2-some in the fairway, but group on green. He says they don't go by that clock, you know the one that is time synced with the entire world! He goes by the clock on the wall which is about 3-4 minutes fast. He stilll says we will need to wait for an opening. We say we can go now because there is no one on the first hole and we should catch them if they are slowed down by other 4-somes, the course was busy. He says we can't do that because there is a 4-some between us. He must of let them go REAL early, or he is utterly confused. Anyways we get to go but then he throws in a walker with us. Now no chance to catch the two-some.

Anyways, there was never a 4-some between us. Even with walker we ended up waiting slightly for the 2-some on a few holes but got 18 in just under 4 hours. Never had the group behind us catch up.

3 starts for the starter, else 4 stars.

Played 18 today first time here. The course was beautiful $78 for the round riding. Our cart had no gps and we swapped at the turn and it seemed to be a known issue so why send it out? The yardage markers seemed inaccurate we out it over the greens on a regular basis. We had a maintenance guy on 2 who seemed to try to blow leaves in our face and cart. He blew them at the cart I was sitting in waiting for the group ahead. Then filled our drinks and belongings with dust just to come and blow them back across us again. The next hole we had a guy who was so much more professional and I couldn t believe the night and day. It took me until the 5th hole to get dust out of my eyes hair and clothes.

My husband and I have been playing this course since it opened and we have ALWAYS had a GREAT experience/round. When you have owners that take pride in their course, it shows. Whether you are dealing with Betty, Eddie, Edward, Peter, Brendan, Jules or one of the girls cooking up a burger or any of the starters, it is first rate. The course is challenging and the front and back nine layouts are so different, it presents a different course mgmt mindset. So glad I am finally a member!

I'm not sure who is in charge at this course but let me get this message across to you the best way that I can. Today I experienced the WORST day of golf imaginable at this miserable excuse for a organized golf club and will do anything and everything in my power to get the 448 dollars my family has spent at this club back. Three men are to blame for this train wreck of a afternoon, I refer to them as red shirt, green shirt, and blue shirt. red shirt obviously makes a large impact on the rest of the crew on how they act. This man has obviously been given a the prestiges crown of butter brook grounds management and has placed himself on the throne of his own arrogance. this man is tan, balding, and has white hair. Might be hard to distinguish. I've never met a man who dishes out such a arrogant and disrespectful flare to full grown men and women who are, by the way, well respected VP's, Attorney's, and business owners who know plenty of wealthy golfers who, I assure, WILL NOT spend money at a club like this after our review. red shirt, started at hole number one. "2 rules, stay on the golf path, and play at the pace of the people around you." easy enough. wrong. hole number four. the arrogant red shirt prince has arrived once again to dish out his daily serving. let me give a setting. The people behind us, are family, and there not close, people behind them, FAMILY, then no one behind them for a hole and a half. There, now let me continue. red shirt continues to YELL at me and THREE other GROWN men that we need to move faster, TALKING IN MY BACK SWING, I HAD TO ACTUALLY WAIT FOR HIM TO STOP TALKING. So eventually we had to give the red shirt prince a talking to and he learned that talking to four grown men the most arrogant and disrespectful way that you can probably isn't something you should do, especially when the men that you are yelling at, have paid $448 dollars to be on the course. green shirt. not quite on the absurdity level as the red shirt prince but only because he's offspring, he's still learning to hunt. green shirt starts off with the easy looking pray, the women. that didn't go so well. after the man has been following around the women for a hole, one of the woman came to the quick realization that she didn't call in a baby sitter, he was gone shortly after he was given a talking to as well. blue shirt, he was just a stragglier, oh and by the way flipped off one of the grown men, that was interesting. Then one after the other red shirt, green shirt, blue shirt, nagged and whined at the paying customers all the way to the ninth hole. so there you have it, that was my PITIFUL excuse for a afternoon of golfing, maybe it would have been worth it if I was playing pebble beach or saint Andrews, but I wasn't, I was playing a course that isn't even that impressive to start out with. I have played over a hundred different clubs and not once have I nor my family been treated the way we were treated today. when, by the way, we were just trying to enjoy my aunts birthday.

I'll begin by saying staff, especially the starter, was very nice and welcoming at this semi-private course. The pace of play was good and I never felt rushed. I enjoyed the two different designs between the front and back holes and thought the course overall was in great condition. My lunch order was not quite ready when we passed thru after hole 9 and someone drove out to deliver two delicious burgers. Also, this is one of the few clubs that gives a discount to seniors at age 50+. I'll be back!

Love this course! It is both fun and challenging. The tee boxes are appropriate for golfers of all skill levels. The staff is very friendly. I deducted one star from my rating as this time the course was not in as good condition as it usually is. There are a lot of unrepaired divots and ball marks on the greens. Players need to be more responsible so that everyone can enjoy their round.

Absolutely amazing golf course!! Butter Brook, finally brought back those good vibes!! Each hole is uniquely laid out, the front nine and the back nine are both unique, and the staff who work here are extremely professional and courteous. If you are looking to spend a good round of golf, I highly suggest Butter Brook. I will be back!

This is a great course with a couple of minuses. I think it's a little overpriced and the back nine tends to get in a knot around holes 13, 14, and 15. But it's a nice layout and usually in great shape. Front and back play very differently.

Great golf course and a fun course to play. Greens, tees and fairways were well maintained. Challenging in that fairways were tight. Great food and an extremely friendly pro shop staff and restaurant staff. I will definitely be back to play!

This is a beautiful golf course. Impeccably maintained from tee to green, this place is a treat. The course itself offers a good balance; some holes reward accuracy, and others length.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the members we were paired with offered great tips. It's no bargain, but well worth the price of admission. Looking forward to returning here next season.

Play the course most Sundays. The course is always well maintained and the entire staff is a pleasure to deal with. The only negative is the weekend summer rate is a little pricey, but I guess its expected being located in Westford and right next to Carlisle.

We enjoyed the course except for one of the grounds crew mowing one of the fairways as we were approaching the green. He was so close we were concerned we would hit him. Another member was on three in a row of the greens as we approached. It was very distracting for 4 out of 18 holes. The staff in the club house were great and very friendly.

Beautiful course, very well maintained, and cool golf carts with GPS and course layout and yardages. One star off because no employees wore masks inside the pro shop and there were essentially no precautions within pro shop for COVID. They are clearly not prioritizing the safety of their customers and employees.

Nice layout, fairways spotty due to summer
heat, humidity, and pattern of heavy rain. The green speed was little inconsistant but overall a good experience.

The golf course greens where in terrible shape. The ranger enjoys harassing golfers to force them to play at a faster pace, and the management condones this practice. We will not be going back.

Love the course and fun to play but please work on your greens. The course is watered too much and you don't roll or cut them tight enough for a top tier course. On the weekends they should be rolled and running 10.5-11.5. See Pinehills, Crosswinds, Oaks in NH have 10.5-11 stimp speed greens that are great for a public course. Your greens are not very good for a high level course charging over $100 on weekends. Who wants to be a member here if they don't let you play before 2pm on a weekend??? I never heard of that, the management and owner has it all wrong.

Great place front and back 9 offer challenging holes that keep golfer interested , course is in great condition and players always come back to play the course because of its diversity in hole layouts.

Played this course 2 years ago, had a great experience and looked forward to playing again. Played on 8/25/18 and did not have a similar experience. Greens were in rough shape, bumpy and beat-up. The course mandated cart path only, despite it not raining in over a week - slowed down play immensely, almost a 5 hour round. Course was pretty dry, cart path only seemed a bit ridiculous. Happen to find myself in quite a few bunkers that day, and every single one was un-raked - not sure if this speaks to the course or the players, but seemed very sloppy (recommend putting more rakes in the bunker, some are pretty large and only one rake). $72 for the after 2:00 p.m. rate ($92 before 11:00 a.m., $85 after 11:00 a.m.) - way overpriced for the condition and location of the course (not that close to Boston, 45 min drive) - max I would pay for this course is $50, but probably won't be returning.

I don't know what has gone on in the past, but this course is an absolute gem! The staff was friendly, the starter took the time to review the course to us first-timers, the ranger gently prodded us to move along and fetched coffee for us from the pro shop at the turn and refused payment or a tip. The course itself is interesting and challenging. The wide open fairways are a come on, as the greens are well guarded and require good shots and thoughtful choices. The contrast between the woodsy front side and the more wide open links-style back nine make for a very nice test. I would recommend this course to players of all levels who want a golf challenge and an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. I will be back.

The course is good but the greens are absolutely terrible for a course that will charge close to $100 for a round of 18. They are incredibly over watered, resulting in them being way too soft. The soft greens get DESTROYED by ball marks that no one seems to repair because it is a public course. The result is you paying $100 for slow and bumpy greens. All they have to do is let them dry out and roll them once in a while for the course to actually be worth the price.
