There's nothing quite like swimming at night on Jumeira beach. Do be careful, there is only one section of the beach that is open at night. -1 star because the changing rooms had been removed when I visited.

A great hotel. From the outside and from the inside. We visited this with the help of a trip, otherwise you will not come in. Also the views from outside are great. Otherwise you only get to the gate, so book a trip.

7 stars = 100%. I have had the Luxury of staying in the best most luxurious Hotels in the world. By far the most elegance and flashiness I have been in. That s the idea to enjoy and overdo the wealth. The staff to private butler to the good night gift on the pillow. Detail gives you 7 stars. If it s not on your bucket list it should be. This is the reward for hard work. Create memories the Bank can t reposes those.

I couldn't get in, too expensive. But from the street it seems the most futuristic, clean, harmonic building I ever seen. Every line, every material, every colourare perfectly matched together. Chapeau to the architect.

Iconic place to visit when in Dubai. However, keep in mind that you'll be charged $100USD to make a rsvp for cocktails. You'll be enjoying the fact that you've had drinks in the only 7 star hotel in the world. Go at sunset to enjoy the view. Have cocktails and snack at Burj Al Arab then head to dinner at the many delicious places in Dubai. Enjoy and cheers!

The beachfront area where Burj Al Arab and Jumeira...

The beachfront area where Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel are located was previously called Chicago Beach. The hotel is located on an island of reclaimed land 280 meters offshore of the beach of the former Chicago Beach Hotel. The locale's name had its origins in the Chicago Bridge & Iron Company which at one time welded giant floating oil storage tanks, known locally as Kazzans on the site.

The old name persisted after the old Hotel was demolished in 1997. Dubai Chicago Beach Hotelremained as the Public
Project Name for the construction phase of Burj Al Arab Hotel until Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the new name.

Burj Al Arab was designed by multidisciplinary consultancy Atkins, led by architect Tom Wright, who has since become co-founder of WKK Architects. The design and construction were managed by Canadian engineer Rick Gregory also of WS Atkins. Construction of the Island began in 1994 and involved up to 2,000 construction workers during peak construction. It was built to resemble the billowing spinnaker sail of a J-class yacht. Two "wings" spread in a V to form a vast "mast", while the space between them is enclosed in a massive atrium. The architect Tom Wright said "The client wanted a building that would become an iconic or symbolic statement for Dubai; this is very similar to Sydney with its Opera House, London with Big Ben, or Paris with the Eiffel Tower. It needed to be a building that would become synonymous with the name of the country."

Fletcher Construction from New Zealand was the lead joint venture partner in the initial stages of pre-construction and
construction. The hotel was built by South African construction contractor Murray & Roberts and A1 Habtoor Engineering and the interior works were delivered by UAE based Depa.

The building opened in December 1999.
