A must stop kind of place , verry nice , will definitely be back ,.
The food was mediocre and way overpriced. The service was so so. $18 for the tail end of a haddock filet and fries... Crab BLT was burnt.... Unacceptable... The view of the harbor is very nice so I'll give a second star.
Good service amazing food Best crab cakes I've ever eaten
Found this place complete at random after a wonderful morning at Schoodic.
And boy, what an awesome find! We had the portobello burger and fish taco's and both were simply of outstanding quality. Best fish taco's I had in a long while! Also, the view is amazing.
Excellent service as well.
Outstanding! Really quality food and very nice relaxing atmosphere. Spectacular views, tastefully decorated inside. Welcoming and delicious!!!
Fantastic cocktails with herb infusions and muddled berries. Best lobster roll I've ever had - and I'm from New England. It was fresh, big chunks of meat doused in butter (not mayo) and the bun was grilled. Fantastic!!
So....I was so looking forward to this meal. And is was OK. The service was slow even allowing for a good meal. The server took my order and about 10 minues later came back to tell me there was no more of that soup. Would I like som ething else? I enquired if there was a cup of lobster stew. Yes and so later it arrived. It looked like a bowl. So again I confirmed this is a cup? Yes she said we have generous portions. So I ate my soup. It was quite salty and oily...maybe that is how lobster stew is? No herbs just salt and butter flavor? Well anyway when the bill comes it does not say cup...it is priced like a cup of lobster stew $ 7.99. But it left me wondering if I had received a cup or not. I got a half portion of the homemade pasta and it clearly had been microwaved it was beyond hot. It was supposed to be pesto...but it was just oil since the micro wave disappeared the cheese part. The portion was miniscule especially for $10.00.The salad was OK. Just a little grit. So the view is awesome and I might actually go back for lunch because of that. Dinner is too pricey even with the view.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Beautiful atmosphere in the dining room, out on the patio and in the bar!! Wait staff seemed genuinely happy to see patrons and were funny and helpful. Bathrooms are gorgeously decorated as is the main dining room. Lobsters were so fresh they literally come straight off the boat into the kitchen!!
Excellent Lobster roll and Lobster stew, other seafood is good.
We came for the lobster...(and who wouldn t in Maine?!). It was great...but what is etched now in my memory was the soups! OMG...and I make beautiful soups myself...I could take a lesson here! Order a half portion along with an entree and you will be very happy indeed!
Beautiful restaurant, super pleasant and helpful staff. The food was very good .
Fabulous lobster rolls, great filet mignon hoagie. Great service nice place. Don't order the crab roll. No flavor. We will definitely go back
Cute restaurant, lovely views, excellent food, great service. Get the crab cakes - they re practically all crab and very tasty!
Food was really good, however the waitress was literally the worst waitress I ve ever had and I live in NY so have had my fair share of poor service. A table of 6 got up and left due to her horrible personality. I asked about what kind of tequilas they had bc they boasted good margaritas; her answer was: we have lots of types. Not helpful. I d go back for the food but not chancing or supporting that bad service.
We happened upon this recently refurbished restaurant with a really great view for dining. The sangria is the best I've ever had and the haddock was delicious! Did I mention the blueberry pie? It was wonderful! Next time we're in Maine we will definitely stop by again!
Stopped in after leaving Schoodic. It wasn't hard to please us as we were hungry and needed a break from lobster. The views and service were great! The food was just ok. Not the best poutine or Philly steak but I wouldn't call it bad. Service was fast and courteous but we were sat and ordered before it got busy. It appears that later in the season, they cut back on the staff. At one point we saw our lone server seating people while serving drinks and food to 9 tables of 2-4 patrons each. Could tell their wait times were a bit longer than ours but she was putting in a great effort. Would recommend stopping earlier in the season when there's a full staff or relatively early in the day before the crowds start leaving the park.
I would give no stars, but that s not an option. I am sitting at the restaurant now. I have been here for an hour and 20 minutes, and I have yet to see even a salad!
We have already spoken to our server, and let him know that at the very least he should not be ignoring his customers.
Still waiting for any food...no bread, nothing.
Delicious veggie burger and blueberry crisp. Staff is super friendly. Lovely view out window.
the crab cakes are delicious but the homemade carrot cake is to die for!! Better than Carnival Cruise and I didn t think that was possible! By far the best restaurant in Maine so far. Couldn t ask for better!
Fantastic food. Lovely waterfront setting. Friendly and attentive staff.
The most amazing meal I have had in a very long time. Great presentation, great service, fresh and perfect quality. And the soups are out of this world!
Today was a great day to head on over to Bunker s Wharf for lunch.
Tomorrow, Oct. 20th, is their last day and then they will be closed till spring, so I figured it would be a great day to meet and treat Roseanne for lunch.
Morgan started reading off the specials and we were hooked. Roseanne chose the Steak Tips & Peppers with home cut fries.
I kept it simple with a huge bowl of fresh Crab & Corn Soup. It was awesome, full of crab and more like a stew.
The brew of choice was the local Geaghan Brothers Stein Song German Light Lager brewed in Bangor/Brewer Maine.
By light, it means their lightest brew offering that makes you want to sing, but not wear lederhosen and do the Watschetanz (leg, shoe, and rump slap dance).
With nostalgia hints of bready Munich malts and a bouquet of floral notes from German Noble hops, it s the closest I ll get to Oktoberfest.
(All my reviews are over all) Great view and all, but for $56 for 2 people, let me explain. (Short story). Ice was dirty, AC unit was spitting water at people and the food looked good but... (Long story)We got there just as it was opening up. We got seated outside. The only door to get you outside had an AC unit next to it that had water spitting out at anyone who walked in or out. That was pretty gross since some of the water got near my mouth. Sitting outside was very lovely. Then we got some water with ice. The water tasted like slim. So I got a Sprite with ice. That too had a slimmy taste. So I got one more drink without ice and poof. Slim was gone. With my many years in the food industry that told me, they were not cleaning where they kept the ice. I'm pretty sure I actually saw someone go outside, under the restaurant (which is a house) and use some kind of tool to break up the ice. Keep in mind we got charged for each drink which was around $4. Next the food. I got the lobster. Tiny little guy. But the French fries were amazing. My company got the burger. He said it tasted good and fries were great as well, until he had a stomach ache the rest of the day. After we got our food we never saw the waitress again. She went to the other tables many time but not us. Mind you there was only 2 other tables occupied in our area. When we were done we waited for maybe another 30 min before getting fed up and going back past the spitting AC to ask for our check. Like I said, view is great, but not for almost $60 bucks.
First off. Charming waitress... 2nd. Food was great. Needed a non seafood day and the steak and cheese sub was great. Will be back..Nice views too!
Such a beautiful place! The food was great and the service was good as well. Something for everyone. We will be back.
Good food, good drinks, clean and convenient. Great view.
Food was excellent. We had crab cakes and a seafood alfredo trio. Would recommend
Very good food - down to the lemony tartar sauce and strawberry rhubarb pie - and friendly staff and environment. We even saw Bunkie, a resident bald eagle. We had haddock and shrimp.
What a great view and restaurant looked very quaint. Unfortunately we left early with only being served our drinks. Service was very slow and the restaurant was not even busy. Hopefully the restaurant managment can get staff up to pace because it has great potential.
Lovely Sunday afternoon meal: Fish and Chips, Haddock burger and the Spinach Salad was very good. Beautiful view and nice atmosphere.
This place has a rude staff and $37 for a burger and 10 fries is a bit overpriced
Tl;dr amazing lobster roll, great cocktails
The lobster roll here is fantastic. Big chunks of fresh lobster meat tossed in butter with a bit of celery for texture on a toasted roll. can It's simple, juicy, and flavourful.
The cocktails after also really good. The bartender does a lot with infusions and puts out some great drinks.
All in all a great little stop over on the peninsula
Fantastic meal; Friendly service and a stellar view!
We stopped by late in the evening for dinner. Views are nice. The food was decent, but wasn't as good as other places further north. However, the service was excellent and our waitress was very nice. The pasta was very thick and creamy so something lighter might be better at night.
Literally the best meal of my existence. Jessica was my server and she was freaking AWESOME. The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD. I ordered a lobster melt and a lobster and decided to get another lobster because it was soooo dang good. I had the lobster dip too. Lol. AMAZING
Came in by boat, has a mooring deep in the harbor. Bustling neighbourhood place. Food has a surprising extra layer of culinary care - nice sobbing, good textures. The lobsters are, of course, terrific.
The view was phenomenal!! The drinks were great! Waitress was very personable and chatty! The food was delicious.
Pickled Wrinkle is far cheaper and better but the view here is incredible. I had a good lobster stew including a moderate but not generous amount of lobster - I enjoyed it. My wife had the fish and chips and found it alright, but the fish was thin and she didn't like the breading. The upcharge for her sweet potato fries was the entire cost of the sweet potato fry side, and they were soggy and not crispy. It's unlikely we will return.
Thank you for showing me where not to buy lunch. Never again. If you're looking for a great spot for lunch or dinner, think again!! Keep on going!! This place should be called Bunkers Ripoff!! Over priced, under portioned, thumbs down. I'm only rating this place a one because I can't rate them a zero!! Don't waste your time or money here. There is no way I would mess with the general public in this day and age with all the technology, and all the social media!! I hope you go out of business...today!! Do the public a favor and close your doors...forever!! Clearly all their good ratings are coming from friends and family!!
The grapefruit hibiscus gimlets were a perfect early fall drink. The seafood trio was a star and the filet (rare, of course) served with a truffle porcini sauce was remarkable. We definitely recommend this coastal jewel and will be returning to enjoy it's ambiance, delightful staff and amazing view again!
This is worthy of 5 starts in terms of quality of food. However, they were out of streamers and mussels. Very disappointed, especially so since it came highly recommend from several people. It appears that late in the season is not the time to go here. Beer was cold and server very pleasant. Farrell and seafood amazing. Will have to go back in high season to try the missing items.
Very good, starting from blueberry mojito, lobster stew,......and very fresh lobster!!!
Excellent!!
Wow I thought the view was going to be the best part about this restaurant but I was wrong the food and service were outstanding one of the best meals I've had in a long long time thank you
The Cognac drink was incredible. Had the seafood platter that was great and the scallops were the best I've ever had and then the dessert was phenomenal as well with a big enough portion that I took half home with me. Can't recommend enough. If I come back to Maine this restaurant will be half the reason why.
The mussels in wine and garlic were delicious. The lobster stew, containing an entire crustacean, was the best of the trip. Based on our meal, we rate this place highly. Worth a stop.
Beautiful restaurant! Awesome view and wonderful food and service!
A great place for lobster! Will definitely come back next time we re coming to Maine
Very nice place close to the national park. Great lobster, friendly staff.
Great food, large portions, friendly staff, nice setting
Best lobster rolls ever, with lots of lobster piled on a toasted roll. Ashley makes the most fantastic cocktails. She is a true mixologist, blending seemingly incongruous ingredients to produce flavors that will keep you coming back. Kudos!!
The view is beautiful; wonderful atmosphere. Loved the crab cakes, chicken wings and the lobster stew. Friendly staff; we had a wonderful time.
Best fried haddock sandwich we had on the trip! While we were eating an eagle landed atop a tree just outside the dining room. Beautiful views and great food!
What a great find. We were just driving along and decided to stop and eat dinner. Wow. The meals were truly gourmet. Well done and portions sizes were also good. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone.
Food, drinks, and service were on point! Higher price point, but the atmosphere was great and we had a very enjoyable family meal.
Great lunch. Four of us had a wharf-side table. Delicious lobster roll, seafood combo, fish and chips! Great service by Cheryl!
Beautiful view and good food. The wait staff was very helpful and courteous
Convenient location if visiting Schoodic Peninsula part of Acadia. Prices a bit high. Loved the poutine. Boneless wings were a bit rubbery. Fish and chips were dry. One friend liked their meal, other didn't so hit or miss. Nice water views. We came in late (1/2 hour before closing) so maybe food was rushed or quality lower? Overall an ok option if in area.
The service was terrible. Food was ok. Crab cakes were good but not nearly enough sauce. The shrimp basket had only 5 shrimp & a ton of French fries. We did not ever get our coleslaw. The waitress did not check on us one time &!we had to ask for the check after over an hour. I would not recommend eating here!
Great view, friendly staff, wonderful lobster rolls and lobster stew. I wish I had been able to go more than once on this trip.
Service was completely terrible. First time ever I left a 0% tip. Didn't have many dishes and had to make another selection 2 times. And even then messed up the order. Had no idea who our waitress was. Never saw the person again that eventually took our order, and had to get our own drinks and silverware. Then had to hunt down someone to find our check. Should have just walked out and waited at the place up the street that had a huge line.
Food was ok. But sitting outside with a beer was great
While the atmosphere is quite nice the slow service and, if not eating seafood, food was not up to my standards. From being seated to taking our order was over 20 minutes. To get our lunch was about an hour and this was with a nearly empty restaurant. The turkey club was good, the chicken sandwhich was some sort of pressed chicken patty one associates with a fast food establishment. I did overhear another table express their enjoyment of their seafood dishes including the fish chowder. Also the freahness of the seafood obviously not frozen was remarked. Apparently they did not want to over staff as the season was running slow.
The food was excellent! The hospitality was great too! The only thing that went wrong was that they ran out of lobster and teriyaki sauce for their wings. We had one order of the teriyaki wings and LOVED them but couldn't get a second order. We will definitely visit again!
Perfection, truly. We arrived at sunset and the harbor was awash in pink light. Simply stunning. I don t think there s a bad seat in the house. The service was so great. The food was wonderful. Fresh, cooked perfectly and timely. We had 3 kids (including a 5 year old), two parents and a Granny and everyone was happy. We left happier and calmer and that s always a good thing. We ve been searching for an excuse to head back!
Good food, but a little overpriced. I enjoyed the lobster BLT, but the poutine was underwhelming.
If you have never gone to Bunkers I highly suggest you stop in and see this place!! Such an incredible view so peaceful and relaxing ! Not to mention the food is absolutely incredible. The servers are great! 5 star in my books all day! If you go to Schoodic point this is a must plan stop on your journey :)
When the Averill House Vineyard crew needs Lobster and a dog friendly restraint this is where we go!
Very good food, splendid location on the water, good service
Poor service, unfriendly owners & staff, food OK, great view of the harbor. Not a place will hurry back to.
Great lobster roll and dessert were awesome. Great service too. View is over a horbor.
Very, very good. We had a butternut squash soup which was the best! My standards are very high because I make it from scratch myself and have tested many recipes.
Very nice meal in a beautiful location. Great atmosphere
the bar is great and the drinks are made well and reasonably priced but the food is quite overpriced in my opinion and the menu is fairly Limited
Food was good but not very well prepared. The pasta seafood casserole had cartilage in it from the lobster meat that was prepared with it. Nice place with a nice view for being so far off the beaten path.
Management is really to blame here. Staff is overworked and maybe not properly trained. There is no proper timing to the order of app to mains. We saw multiple tables scratching their heads. Here s a quick tip, order drinks at the bar and bring to your table, you ll thank me later. Ps food is actually good but service leaves you asking more.
We went for 5pm on a Sunday with our 16 month old. I would remiss if I didn't mention the location, almost every table had a wonderful view of the water and our little one loved watching the "ducks" aka gulls. Our toddler was pretty rambunctious when we were there so we took her out on the patio and dock to kill time and our server came out to get us when her food was ready. Our server Kyra was lovely! we found her to be friendly, helpful, and incredibly patient with our sassy little one and she even brought over some crayons and a coloring page and played with her for a few minutes. I chose this place because I wanted a steamed lobster on our last night in the area and it didnt disappoint, it was a good size, sweet and very tender. my husband got the twin lobster rolls and they looked substantial (full claws) and he said they were very good. He also said the cole slaw was some of the best hes ever had, french fries were below average to average but we didnt mind, it didnt take away from the meal. The ambiance was a mix of casual seafood joint with upscale touches, we were nervous since our little one was so excited when we were there and doesnt quite understand volume yet but most other diners seemed entertained or indifferent to her antics, it didnt seem too upscale that it was inappropriate to have her there. Staff made it a five star experience for sure.
Incredible, great service, great food, awesome setting, great entertainment! We love it!!
This is a very nice restaurant for lunch or dinner. The service is excellent and the food was good (not stellar but good). Setting is beautiful with a great view of the harbor and the building is beautiful inside. HINT the bathroom light switch is outside the door.
