Service a little clicky, not a very welcoming experience. Had to ask a lot of questions rather than staff being helpful. Just assumed we knew the drill on ordering food. Food excellent by far the best pork belly I've ever had.

We had a wonderful meal. The food was lovely. Would have given 5 * but we got a very unnecessary look from a member of staff when we asked for a plain peice of bed and butter. Staff were attentive but not to in your face and the prices are good for what you get. We also got two members of staff ask if our food was okay which is great service.

The food was lovely. The immediate table service was suberb but the manager, although authoritive, was quite rude and abrupt. Hopefully it was just the pressure on her and not a regular occurance.

Visited on a Saturday night, no reservation, but they worked hard to accommodate us, which they did. Food was prompt and tasty. Our table was in the bar area, noisy, but it was a Saturday night, it has a restaurant

Very convenient for me as round the corner from a friend. A very busy and lively pub, good quality foid and extensive menu, a choice of small or large portions. Plenty of parking, very friendly and helpful staff. Definately recommended.

For a strange reason they wouldn't let us order and sit down for food until a certain time even when there were loads of tables free. Can't understand why. I was really hungry and had to wait. Not a good mix.

Disappointing lunch time. Booked but not busy however service very poor at one point had to find someone to get mains cleared and try to order desert - found them chatting at bar. Some mains were over priced for the quality of food e.g. salad out of a bag! Won't be re-visiting.

Went for lunch yesterday, staff friendly enough, food shocking ordered a sausage and onion sandwich it was stone cold, wife had a bacon Brie sandwich equally stone cold, waiter came to rectify this error, only to bring back same plates with microwaved sandwich filling leaving remaining food on plate cold. It s not a culinary challenge to get two sandwiches right surely, oh and the coleslaw was lifeless and on the turn. Never again

If only you could guarantee a good meal each time. When it is good it is very good when it is poor oh dear. Management doesn't appear to care about its customers when poor food is pointed out. A comment such as "perhaps they should have cooked it longer before serving" just is not good enough. Have voted with my feet and moved to the Wyvern where they care about their customers

Great choice of well prepared and reasonably priced food together with a good selection of ales. Friendly and efficient service. Will definitely return when back in the Lee-On-The-Solent area.

Oh my god, am really disappointed have eaten here in the pastvand it was good. Though tonight I could have done better at home. Everything we had came out of a packet. Frozen child, bagged salad and pre made mains. Not good and very uh unhappy considering the price. Partner says the beer good on the plus side.

Came in for a Sunday beverage, grabbed a couple of menus to have a look to see if we fancied something to eat. 20 mins later what we persumed as the manageress came to our table very abruptly & asked for our order we explained we were just browsing the menu to which she replied abruptly we are very busy & will not be taking walk in orders after 1pm we then proceeded to say we would have a think about whether we would like to order something to which she flounced off. The bar staff are absolutely lovely & very friendly can not fault them whereas the lady who came to us could do with some customer service skills as this is not the first time she has been abrupt to us. Also we felt being classed as walk in s was a bit of a derogatory term!
