One of the best happy hours in San Diego. Great cocktail and huge selection of food!
Long time coming here and always had great service and food. I love the atmosphere and bring many of our clients around. Their prime rib is delicious always!
Good food at a cozy place with reasonable prices and good service. My only complaint is that they closed tonight at 9:00 p.m.
Prime rib was good as well fillet mignon. Sampler appetizer was good, especially liked the calamari
Excellent! Great old world atmosphere. Private booths. Server was lovely. She presented wine to us in very stylish way. Prime rib was perfect. Steak salad and pork chops were off the charts. Will return next time in San Diego.
Best prime rib I ever had . great price and service
My go to place for a great steak .
Perfect place for great prime rib steaks and lobster. Lots of entrees all delicious. Excellent attentive servers. A landmark in San Diego for years.
Came here with my wife Saturday evening. We didn't have reservations but we were seated immediately in a booth near the bar. A creepy guy sitting at the bar kept staring at us, but I can't blame the restaurant for that. Television screens everywhere showing college football -- fortunately we both like to watch college football, but it felt more like a sports bar than a steak house. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and I ended up tipping him more than 20% for his effort. We both ordered the horseradish-crusted prime rib which was out of this world. Finished it off with coffee and dessert. Overall an extremely satisfying dinner.
Great service. Good food. Good drinks. Overall, a great place to have a larger gathering.
Very good food clean friendly place. The maneger Peter was great.
Fantastic steaks great appetizers all in all a wonderful experience
I heard nothing but good things about Bully's East but when I went I was disappointed... I first ordered a wedge salad that still had the knots at the end and wasn't very good, then ordered the clam chowder which was water-based and not cream-based. We then ordered the ribs which we're good if you like heavy sauce on them!
Love this place. Great food & love the old time steakhouse atmosphere. Reasonable prices.
Been Frequenting here for thirty years. Best of the Mission Valley Old Guard steak house (Kansas City) Lots of history, great waitpersons and proprietors.
came in on a thurs. nothing but great experiences here. the place has a nice feel to it.
got there near six, it wasn't packed at all. service is typically great. prices are decent. feels similar to a restaurant in new york i liked.
The best prime rib and filets. The service is wonderful.
Always great food and service. The wait staff are right on top of everything you may need
Good breakfast, should have mimosas at better price.
It s ok...weird sour flavors with everything. My 3 yr old loved the Mac n cheese it was weird like Gouda or something I hated it. Not my taste I guess. Good service.
It's been far to long since I've eaten at Bully's East, let alone have breakfast. I was very impressed by what I ordered, I had the prime rib hash. Awesome! Great coffee and all reasonably priced. Look forward to the next time.
The pork fried steak was incredible it's sad that it only happens once a year would love to see it on regular menu.
Definitely an old school townie place. Great atmosphere, food wasnt remarkable, but the prices were much less then you'd expect to pay on San Diego
We had an early Sunday dinner at Bully s East and were hoping for the same/similar menu to the other Bully s locations that have gone out of business (we used to go to Bully s in Bird Rock then Bully s in Del Mar for around 30 years). The Bully s East menu is similar with a focus on meat/prime rib but less-varied than the old Bully s (i.e., no prime rib quesadilla or beer battered shrimp), and several items on the menu were not available; however, the Bully s East location had an extensive Sunday brunch menu that was not available at the old locations. The service was friendly but slow (i.e., the scoop of butter for the baked potato was melted and the dinner plate was scorching hot as if the plate had been sitting under a head light). The restaurant is newer, cleaner and more spread out for Covid distancing but less personal/less personality than the old Bully s. The food was fine in terms of quality and portion size, and you get a free mud pie on your birthday.
I don't miss my meetings in SD because we always go to Bullys after. I had the French dip. It was delicious.
Always a great experience. Terrific food and excellent service.
This place is the best for prime rib especially on the weekends when you can get prime rib and eggs with hashbrowns for breakfast. Absolutely awesome.
I love this place. Have had many of the items on the menu. Yesterday I decided to try the Cobb Salad. It was awesome.
Delicious flanksteak, excellent server, great atmosphere!
The inside of the this place is exactly what you think it is from the exterior, an old school steak house. I can only imagine opening the doors to this establishment in the 80's and the cigarette smoke just piling out of this place.
Went here for lunch and everyone in my group enjoyed the meal. A bit of an older crowd, as expected at a place like this. I'd definitely go here again.
OMG The Prime Rib with crusted horseradish on top, melted in my mouth. Everything was so delicious, the service outstanding and prices were very reasonable, I would go here again and again
Ask for Sherona (sp? like my Sherona) as your server. A few more dollars then elsewhere for lunch, but well worth it. Excellent choices for the meat eater . . . not so much for the veggie lovers. But excellent choice for a good meat sandwich for lunch!
A hidden Gem in an old school steak house. $10 bottle of champagne on Sundays. Very well priced food. Recommed the salmon hash ...
Not what it used to be, always recommended to friends and associates but not anymore.
Two thumbs up for this place. The staff was very sociable and kind. The place has a nice atmosphere. Menu is like a cafe in Indianapolis I loved.
Visited here on our honeymoon and met up with some family we hadn't seen in a long time. Food was good and drinks were good as well. They messed up the order and accidently made us "premium" drinks instead of "basic" and almost made it seem like we were going to have to pay for them. In the end the manager apologized and said we didn't have to.
Always great food and service. The wait staff are right on top of everything you may need
Rating is for brunch. Love game day breakfast. Sat/Sun only.
Bully s East is a fun place to go with friends. I tried the prime rib melt which was delicious. Generous portion so I had to take 1/2 home with me. Decent selection of brews. Friendly wait staff.
Disappointed. My boyfriend and I aren't from California but while on vacation we stopped by Bully's, recommended to us by a friend who lives in the area. Despite being a Thursday night with only about 5 other groups dining, we stood at the host stand for several minutes while the hostess decided to finish her conversation. (Actually, she was sitting at a table; we didn't realize she was the hostess until she stood up.) We sat at our table waiting patiently for someone to help us; fortunately we had a wonderful busser who hardly spoke English but brought us water and bread with a smile. Our waitress finally showed up and took our order (2 steaks, 2 mashed potatoes, 1 order of fries, 1 Coke, 1 Diet Coke) without writing anything down. Despite it being a very basic order, she managed to completely butcher it. She mixed up our steaks--mine was ordered medium rare, his was ordered medium--she never brought his french fries, and when she refilled our drinks she mixed up those as well. All-in-all, it was blatantly obvious she had no interest in serving us. Other than the friendliness we received from the busser, there was nothing positive about this experience.
The food was delicious and very filling my waitress was friendly and very fast with our food and drinks
And a special thanks to whom ever paid for our meal we really appreciated it
Good steaks, properly cooked, good service, and a decent whiskey selection at the bar.
Service was ok, the ox tail ravioli was great along with the Anne's potatoes but the pork pozoli was super spicy which isn't cool and the Mac and cheese was horrible tasted like watered down powder cheese with uncooked pasta and bread crumbs
The nooners teriyaki steak is amazing. Thank you so much Bully's.
Very rich food, excellent service, very reasonable prices
It has a very old school feeling with lots of wood. Service was top notch. It was pretty busy in a Wednesday night. Prices are reasonable. Ordered the calamari and the pesto flat bread. The flat bread was ok (3 stars). Wouldn't order again. Liked the calamari. Beer list was decent. Wish there was more of a selection but not really a deal breaker. There's extra parking in the lot next door after 5pm. Will be back.
I went here and they weren't Bully's at all! The staff were very nice and gave us food and drinks and everything.
They should change the name to "Very Nice People's East"
So the last real Bully's, East is the last bit of nostalgia.
I went to Del Mar for more than 50 years, and a half cut is my son's favorite meal.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
We had a great meal tonight, french onion soup and a half cut is always the best way to go.
George is smiling in the doorway..
Enjoy.
We came here to celebrate our friends birthday. The server and food were great. They did forget to bring my mac and cheese though. I ordered the Prime Rib Sandwhich and my wife had the full rack of ribs. The ribs were tender and fell off the bone. The Prime Rib was also very delicious.
Great dinner, excellent staff
Clean safe..
Great atmosphere, excellent prime rib, San Diego landmark
Food was great as usual.
It was the service that lacked big time.
I was visiting from thousand Oaks.
And had not been here for maybe a year.
Waitress leighann was slow and rude.
If you go just make sure she is not your waitress.
Only come for happy hour because the prices are very reasonable during this window.
Good food, but our waitress wasn't to informative on the food they serve and always forgot about us. We had to get up and refill our own water and then when she was off work the lady that took over for her was not friendly at all. We had a hard time even ordering food and drinks for other friends that joined us.
I'm giving it 2 stars because of its service .
